Radu Lupu( The most most colorful piano sound ever!) Mikhail Pletnev the most powerful! Pletnev the best technique! Vladimir Ashkenazy(The most volcano colorful piano sound!)
Just heard Igor Levit play this sonata beautifully in his own way but this old monster is in a league of his own. The piano becomes orchestral which is what was intended by Beethoven. I'm afraid Gilels is peerless in the Waldstein. Others may try to snatch this title for decades to come....
