That's the tempo! Why the heck would anyone go faster? (1st mov of course) Also, Pletnev (widely conceived as best recording) played barely any faster. I learned a lot. Thank you

He is undoubtedly a virtuoso, and has great facility, but he plays the third movement much too fast. And in what way is this a tutorial? he gives absolutely no guidance or tips and how to conquer the Sonata's manifold difficulties for instance, how to practice the melody and the trill played by the same hand, or how to play octave glissandi. So while I envy him his technique, this video is not helpful . So when he says "make it sound like this" that is not news to us. We all know how it SHOULD sound !

This is a MASTERCLASS..meaning that the basics you talk about are known to the player.A beginner must practice sufficently to acquire the technical difficulties.

Too fast doesnt make sense. You already play too fast. Lets listen maestro Pillini. He is playing even slower
