Its a decent idea to fit antony in the team but if this is the case antony is taking up a number which could be used by Garnacho/rashford when switched back to a 4231 and both are much more effective players. I think we just have to accept our losses and let antony go.
@@mohammadsawlih3869 i dont think we keep possession well with bruno, garnacho and rashford in the team. rashford has been terrible this season and garnacho has played so many games. i would rotate between hojlund, garnacho, rashford and amad. mount and bruno can compete for the 10 position. antony is a good player but the club messed up paying 90m for him he will always have that price tag over his head.
@@mohammadsawlih3869 One of the major reasons why we need to change the system is that our wingers are inverted strikers. It would be better if we could use Rashford or Garnacho to pair with Højlund. Further using this system we can use this system to reduce the burden on Bruno. Wingbacks and 2 CMs would share the creative duty!!.

Agreed. Been saying it for the longest. The only way to salvage Antony is to play him LB/LWB. Antony is too indecisive and lacks the explosiveness to play the front 3 positions.
Unrelated but Atlantis, is Kobbie a 6 or an 8 for you? What do you think his long term position will be?
He’s a 6 8 10 can play numerous roles he’s a complete midfielder hopefully he’s shooting improves
@@DS4Life He's too good bro. You're right, Kobbie is more than talented enough to play 6, 8 and 10. However I want him to nail down one position/role and master it. He's one player in particular that we can't afford to get it wrong with in regards to development.
IMO the constant mucking about with the likes of Rashford and Martial in regards to not having a consistent position, alongside poor coaching is a big reason why they never hit their potentials.
I think he's a hybrid of all those roles mentioned above
hes much more of an 8, we need someone more mobile and physcial alongside him to do the defensive work. Not saying mainoo isnt decent defensively but he sometimes lacks intensity and pace to cover ground. Onana would be the ideal partner.
@@mohammadsawlih3869 I'm siding more with Kobbie being a natural no.8 too bro but the conundrum is good no.8's are a dime a dozen in football atm whereas a good 6 is like finding a needle in haystack.
Im not sure a good no.6 that is as press resistant as Kobbie and a similar age profile even exist mate.
I don't want us to sign another destroyer kind of no.6 like Casemiro. Maybe I'm saying this as Carrick was one of my favourite midfielders but I personally prefer the Carrick/Busquets/Rodri type of DM that can read the game and look after the ball.

With Ten Hag's 325 in possession shape I don't think there is a need for a switch in systems. This role will be perfect for Antony especially when United would be without a left back for the rest of the season
Problem with the formation you are talking about is that we would need 3 cbs playing consistently and united don’t have that . He would be an ok lwb but that means Rashford would play st
Shaw, Martinez, Varane, Maguire, Lindelof, Dalot can all play in a back 3 and that’s not factoring in new signings
But why should we play a back 3 to accommodate him

In my opinion, for the lb/lwb position, I think united should start malacia next season when he returns. I know that sounds confusing/crazy because we don't know how he'll perform after such a long injury and he's track record gives us mixed feelings but these are the reasons why I believe he should start, to prove himself. He could be our own version of evra.
Also, harry amass can be backup to him, I believe amass would provide more going forward than malacia.

My biggest concern is should we split our whole formation and inconvenience some players for him,at times,it,s best to acknowledge it's best for everyone to part way and this is one of the times
For the amount it was paid for him, he should be able to deliver at the position he was brought in for.
If there's now a need to accomodate him, the signing was not good. But i guesa this is a good option to increase his market value and see if something can be recoup

we have like half a cb.. gonna need alot more for 3 atb with antony on lwb. its a logical strategy but at this point we might as well cut our losses and just find someone else.
Sell him for 25 mill will kill us with FFP, turning him into a LB will solve our Injury issues, we can focus on a RW rather than a RW and LB and losing 70 mill on him, you might never know he might be a great Fullback, and in the future we can sell in to Madrid for 70 mill, Madrid have a thing for Brazilian Fullbacks 😂😂

considering he does play LWB, formation would be closer to 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 depending on game state. which means we would need many many CBs still. also, positional changes and sacrifices need to be made for other players as well.
Antony should simply be shifted to left wing, where Rashford plays. That way he can keep it simple driving wide left like Dusan Tadic or David Neres in his first Ajax side. Rashy himself should go back to the right or backup Hojlund at CF.
If we aren’t playing pure counter attacking football Rashy is not the answer at CF

Antony's more Defensively sound than Di Marco, Antony can play at LB and Excel, The player Antony reminds so much of is Marcelo but Surprisingly Antony's more Defensive than Marcelo😅, Antony can Because the starting LB for Brazil's current Generation, I can see Antony playing for Madrid if he takes the steps to convert to a fullback and Following in Carlos and Marcelo's footsteps.

Yes he does for a winger. That’s where a elite level manager comes into play. Inzaghi or Nagelsmann would be able to train Antony in that role pretty simply
@@AtlantisFootball I mean we've seen wingbacks retrained to play the wing effectively, but wingers retrained to go back tend to position terribly. Look at Wan-Bissaka.
Also I doubt he'd be able to adapt. He's this far into his career without developing a right foot or a way to go on the outside so why would we think he's adaptable enough to radically transform his positioning and responsibilities. I don't think stamina and running a lot is enough
Antony got 1 play style and most of the defenders in the prem know his style so he is kind of useless
nope hes pretty quick and also creativev but issue is on right wing his right foot only dribbling is to easy to read on right wing while on l;eft wing he can dribble past faster and cut in like reverse robben

No it’s not. Bruno is far better at keeping the ball, it’s just we play in a quick transitional system that requires him to look for killer through balls more often

Bruno doesn't retain the ball well at all. About the video, Antony should be deployed as a left winger with and playing as a right winger. Garnacho and Rashford Arent good enough
Yes because of the system. He is relied upon to constantly look for direct passes. Also it’s not holding up the ball he isn’t a striker. If Antony was in the centre he’d lose the ball far more often.
Your issue is with the system and style of play not individual players. Swapping Bruno out doesn’t make United a team that can retain possession

Nah you don’t need that much positional intelligence for a wing back in a back 5 role. He does a similar job tracking the full back into deep positions.
A good manager should be able to train him fairly quickly in this role I think
@@AtlantisFootballchoosing when to run to space, track the run of the opposition winger and move to intercept needs a lot of positional intelligence and experience in that position. If it was as easy as tracking back from a forward position many other wingers would be doing it. When the enemy false 9 drops deep and takes 2 CBs him leaving his wingers in half spaces in behind, a fullbacks interception is invaluable
@@wolfswinkel8906 yes but that’s all fairly simple to train a player to do with the right manager in the right system. Antony already has a lot of traits needed to play as a wing back which many wingers don’t
