I wouldn't look forward to a new installment in this series, because of how the gaming climate is now. They would go out of their way to make the game harder than its predecessors. That's what they did with Crash Bandicoot 4 and that's what they did with Streets of Rage 4 (before the patch). They'd give us something even more frustrating than the original Maximo was. Probably would do some nonsense where not only is saving limited, but dying deletes your saves, because look how cool and trendy rogue-likes are on the indy scene right now. Lemme just say that that original Lord Hawkmoore is a _badass._ F**k King Arthur; I forgot the opening cutscene featured that King _locking himself inside the vault_ to prevent the Army of Zin from resurrecting. Jeez louise. What a leader that guy was! You're right about that cutscene being efficient; here I was thinking, "Man, that established a lot of character and world-building REAL fast" and you just said it, lol. I miss good-old-fashioned adventure stories that just throw you into things! It SUCKS that Maximo never got an HD collection, or isn't in any of Capcom's VS games.... or the Namco X Capcom X Sega X whatever crossovers either. Why the hell do they do that!? That pisses me off thinking about that now... it's one thing to deny us a third Maximo (especially now that he has a proper ensemble backing him up! Its so easy to imagine a skilltree/upgrade system based around Tinker! You bring her some kind of resource, she gives you badass mechanized armor and weapons.... freakin' Capcom, grrr), but to ignore the IP ENTIRELY is just cruel. Why the heck does Arthur get attention when Maximo doesn't? I would love to see the developers go around Capcom and make a third one anyway, lol. In theory, I feel like you could get away with that - they could start their game's story and have Maximo looking different with like a beard and stuff, give him amnesia so he _adopts another name,_ come up with some reason as to why the Grim Reaper and his friends won't tell just tell him this info, and tweak the art style a bit so it isn't obviously Susumu Matsushita. Yeah, just tweak some things in general to make it legally anomalous and just NEVER reveal the guy's real name, haha. It's not like Capcom cares about the IP anyway. I wonder if anyone's tried that with a game or a movie... I feel like that new game, Tamarin, is probably just set somewhere in the Jet Force Gemini universe and simply doesn't reference the team, for example (haven't played it yet). I feel like there's some Bond movie that did that when there were multiple studios fighting over the rights to it or something. Of course there's all sorts of nonsense with Wonder Boy/Monster Boy/Adventure Island.... _there HAS to be a story about a situation like this in gaming history!_ Oh well, that's just a pipe dream but I'd love to see it nonetheless and to give us another adventure with this duo of Maximo and Grim! QOTD: YES. Or the developers, if they want to kickstart their own thing instead. I'm all for it either way. I bought Effie this gen. I bought A Knight's Quest (that one is TERRIBLE though). I bought the MediEvil remake. Is Pumpkin Jack gonna kinda be like this too? I don't know but I'm keeping my eye on it, lol. I threw money at the Kickstarter for Tower Princess. I love this shit, and I will support anyone who want to make a Maximo-esque title, because Goddamn we need more Maximo! He's _WAY_ better than King Arthur. Ghosts to Glory > Ghouls 'n' Ghosts. However it would've ended, it's totally Capcom's fault the series came to an abrupt end. The same team was tasked with making Final Fight Streetwise afterwards- the worst creative decisions on it being the fault of higher ups who wanted it to be 'totally different' from the originals. It's not hard to speculate that the same money-minded folks wanted to milk the success of GTA style 'crime games' as well. So yeah, they outright sabotaged what could've been a pretty cool 3D FF and set it out into the world to be savaged by the same gaming press that happily trashed God Hand for even slightly resembling an old arcade beat-em-up. The team was dissolved soon after - no Maximo 3.

Yes they should finish it. If they can get that mega man 11 game done they can do Maximo 3 and put out the first two games in a collection.
They might make it cheap and it may lack the spirit and enthusiasm the ps2 games had.

I was at the Hall of Fame ceremony the year Steve Austin was inducted. It was the year THQ paid my way to cover WrestleMania 25 in Texas.
