- Chased a GTR for a bit, until he decided to test everyone's brakes. Added footage from my friend's POV who was following behind me.
The GTR decided to almost stop on the track because a black flag was waved at him... 12:30 in video
WOW!!! Thanks for providing the second POV, that was ridiculously close! I race SMP often as my preferred track and thank god I have never gotten a brake-test like that!
Cool, I didn't know that and haven't ever noticed that before on the cars I've raced with.
Wow, That was close. Good driving btw.
Oh god No! That is BAAAAD! At first I couldn't hear it and then later I could hear what you're hearing and he is either to slow on the clutch (probably tensed up and not relaxed as per his hand grip) or his clutch is TOO hot!
You are right though...I figured that you were hearing what I was hearing later on in the video. Just so you know, if you paid me to instruct you: I'd beat you with a big stick for going that slow on the clutch! Let it out RIGHT AWAY!
Do I road-race? Yes. Do I have a racing licence? Yes. I guess with the instructors that I've worked with have always told me to sort of pinch the wheel instead of using those thumbs for leverage. If you're thumbing you tend to use your wrists and it helps to smooth out your wheel work when you're steering with your arms/larger muscles.
I'm not really know-it-all'ing here....sooo yeah not sure why you automatically assumed I'm a "ricer boi" or whatever.
Sigh.... You need to look up what a Clutch Delay Valve and a heavy stock flywheel on an AP2 S2000 is before you beat people with a stick... Why the heck would I let out the clutch slowly?!?!?! It's cause I'm letting it go too quickly and giving it gas before the revs get to drop, and the CDV doing it's job to save the transmission and drivetrain.
If I used a AP1 flywheel with CDV delete there wouldn't be such an issue, or I just shift slower, but chasing a GTR I have to shift fast...
Second angle is frightening...goes to show the caliber of driver he is. More money than skill
Was the flag being waved at the gtr for holding up people?
S Miller No, for a hood that wasn't closed
usually blue flag for holding people up
Sounds like he is heel and toeing...that is very advanced level of skill for driving.
His hands need work, he should be gripping the edge of the steering wheel and definitely not have your thumbs inside. That hurts, we've all done it!
If you hurt your thumbs, you're doing it wrong, gripping too hard, etc... Go watch Gan-san on Nurburgring with the S2K, or better yet lots of other race car drivers that drive with thumbs wrapped in, with or without gloves.
Just cause you do it your way doesn't mean your way is the right and the only way...
Do you even road-race? Dragging on the streets doesn't count!
Why do I bother...
