Bournemouth/Howe/Newcastle fan here. Eddie has obviously not been brought around the table and talked trough the changes. Eddie is not a control freak but needs to know where the boundaries are. He had to be involved in many issues since his appointment beacause there was nobody else to do it! If things don't go to plan and results are not so good who will get the sack? Eddie Howe...not the rest of them. I love the Newcastle fans, the best in the country, but Mick's comment on Eddie being petulant was petulant in itself. Other than that, I just love this show.
Mick, absolutely spot on regarding Howe, I’m a big supporter of his and hope he is our coach for a long time but I think he is way out of order trying to put veiled threats about staying or going within the interviews he did, what has changed? two people we no longer need have left and two highly qualified people we do need have come in to help him, he is paid to do a job and if he continues and tries to dictate the terms of his employment with these executives and owners he will lose, he should keep his head down and be thankful he is employed by our club
Absolutely spot on and refreshing response from Mick. Eddie has only ever played for or managed clubs with a tin pot infrastructure( including Newcastle) and that gave him hugely excessive powers. If he wants to be part of a huge properly run club in the future then he will have to accept that or move back to a tin pot club or England. The PIF won't be dictated to by an employee
Worth listening to the blog by Geordie Jounos, Jordan said the tone of this interview felt very different from every other weekly interview he did. Eddie was definitely downstream of recent decisions but he also acted with petulance not seen before by Eddie. Good to see club spending time with him as it does seem like a storm in a teacup
I think Eddie might be feeling the pressure a little more now that he’s lost his comfort blanket in Amanda! Massive loss even for us fans aswell, just hope there’s no void now between the club and supporters.
Press conferences will have been scheduled ahead of time. Pulling EH out of the media at this point would give an even bigger level of fear and speculation. Everyone would have instantly jumped to "He's already taken the England job"
Excellent show and longer version on the pod - opinions are spot on. Eddie has done a great job but needs to get with the program, which means being part of the sort of team required to run a club of our size now we have owners to match our ambition. Eales does need to step up and pull all of this together rapidly.

Something not talked about enough is the contracts expiring next year: Schär (33), Trippier (34), Burn (33), Wilson (33), Lascelles (31), Krafth (30), Ruddy (38), Gillespie (33), Longstaff (27). Howe will likely want to give them all new deals, but that would hurt the club dramatically from a PSR perspective because they have no sell-on value, are on hefty wages and are all upgradeable. That’s going to cause a lot of contention behind the scenes because Mitchell will have been tasked with de-ageing the squad and will probably see it as a mini rebuild while Howe wouldn’t want to lose his whole ‘leadership group’ in one summer who he’s relied on.
@@kevinprior3549 Exactly the same, Schär is the only one I’d keep. But when Howe can’t even drop Trippier, Longstaff and Burn, can you imagine him being told they have to be released?

@@levstone415 How do we know he didn’t complain? On the NUFCTV interview he looked furious. We just had to sell him because if we didn’t we’d have got a points deduction. I don’t think he said anything bad tbh but I’m also not worried if he does leave we will replace him same with any players who want to leave we have good owners now so I’m not worried at all who leaves

Our club is growing and he signed on for the vision but people yes people need to start talking with each other behind the scenes. Eddie is our leader as our Head Coach / Manager whatever his job descriptiton is but we all love Newcastle and no one man is bigger than the club. Lets get this all sorted out so we can focus on playing football and doing the best we can as a TEAM ( on and off the field)
The club are spot on reining Eddie in. Remember if 7th had got Europe Dummet and Richie would have got a new contract extension. Eddie’s loyalty and some of his decisions are bizarre. I hope he takes the England job and Poch comes in asap
PIF have made money due to Eddie (a) being fantastic at recruitment with players bought now a lot more valuable, (b) Eddie coaching and improving existing players, (c) Eddie getting results. What has Eales done? No new training ground, No stadium plans, flogged Minteh and Anderson, unsettled Gordon. Eales reward to Howe is "work on the grass"
That's pretty harsh. Eales has been at the club even less time than Howe has. In that time he's brought Adidas back, brought Sela in, has overseen the development of the Stack property. Has overseen the feasibility study on stadium expansion. Not quite sure what you expect from a CEO. (He's not the owner.)
I honestly don't know why you guys are talking about he will be at Newcastle for years to come, It's pre season & I am more worried why we ain't bought anyone all these managerial appointments mean jack shit to me buy some players
I like Eddy Howe but he has won fuck all should just get on with it as most premier league club managers do not have full autonomy on transfer business as this looks like what the problem is
Eddie Howe is a Great coach but as a manager I think he is really lacking. His man management what other club signs a plyer they are playing in the team within a week.Howe puts them on the bench for MONTHS!, his "favourites" Bullshit and his substitute 73 min+? management. Many thanks for your time enjoy, England. I really believe now we need to move on to bigger and better (and with more experience), bring in Ponch or Nageslman.
Sorry but you are asking for a big time manager but they will want to take full control so why cant eddie howe ask the same.it shows a set of nuts to say that so we should back him until otherwise.we are putting a manager down and he has succeded each season.ive been a nufc fan through all the crap from ashley so lets get behind him
Is the elephant in the room…Andy Howe😮Eddies nephew working in recruitment? Is he being nudged oot? And has that erked Eddie….did we offer Gordon to Liverpool or was it Liverpool sniffing aboot?
Finally, something who is being realistic. Eddie Howe is a prejudice manager who selects his favourites rather than players based on ability. The players he's been trying to sign recently are Championship players at best. Lloyd Kelly is absolutely useless
Great let's hire more uselessness so that when we're inevitably mid table they can think their way out of a paper bag and pick up massive wages in the process. Some changes I get and some I don't, I just don't want the club losing it's soul in the process.
Bournemouth away on matchweek 2 is a massive test for Howe and we must win that game - it’s ridiculous how we can’t beat them. We must beat Ipswich Town too, but I think we could lose the away game. No more struggling against smaller teams e.g. Luton and Blackburn etc.
I wish you wouldn’t bring Twitter reactions and social media mentality to the podcast .. it’s notoriously a cesspit of mental behaviour and really doesn’t make for any sensible chat or debate.
I think your making a mountain out of a mole hill and sensationalising. Let it be and stop adding to the media hype. Theres been allot of changes at NUFC in such a short space of time that its only natural for everyone to find their feet and adjust to the new ways of doing things..
@@charlotterobson7015Your being protective, but your vid was a long debate about the recent Eddie Howe interviews...hanging your hat on the recent media nonsense. You were all having a debate suggesting the types of things the gutter media have been coming out with,... you even called Eddie a drama queen...!
Life pre-Eddie is incomparable because we didn’t have Saudi owners pumping millions into bettering the football club. Did we have £63m 2nd best striker in the league pre-Eddie? Or an England international on the left pre-Eddie? Or Brazil’s best midfielder who Man City want pre-Eddie?
@@gordypattison3543 No one’s whining about not winning the league. Howe has expectation now. It doesn’t make you plastic to think someone who’s spent near £500m in 3yrs shouldn’t be running the club like we’re Bournemouth.
Don't recall Bournemouth ever playing in the CL 🤔 Too much bedwetting going on - we probably have the 7th best squad in the league in terms of wages and value. Which 'elite' manager will want to compete on those terms?
@@luketaylor348 Probably because Bournemouth didn’t spend £260m in three windows, weren’t able to bring in world class players like Bruno, Isak, Trippier, Botman, didn’t have a World Cup break which benefitted them because they got a rest from the ‘intensity’ as we had like 4 players at the tournament and they didn’t just happen to be good when Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs were all on drop-off transition years. I love Howe, he’s a fantastic coach and I’m not even saying I want him sacked, but he’s shown on multiple occasions that he doesn’t suit a big club, he wants to build clubs in his image and that doesn’t fly at big aspiring clubs. Personally I’d take Pochettino. He made Spurs title challengers and CL finalists on a shoe string budget while Levy was building the stadium, made Kane, Son, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli into world class players and actually knows how to manage big clubs, a European schedule and won’t just keep Dan Burn in the side because he likes him. He also finished above us with more injuries and a worse squad at Chelsea than we have imo. But Howe has my full support for now, no bed-wetting here, just an opinion.
Let's be honest, Howe isn't going to win anything in the next few years but he has served the club well. He simply doesn't have a big game mentality and his In game management is reactive rather than pro active, so he would be the perfect manager for England.
What a load of tosh. He has half the budget of the clubs he is competing with. As for his "big game mentality" We beat Man City, Man U (twice), Villa (twice), Spurs, PSG and Arsenal last season If you think another manager will come in and get better results with the same resources your barking mad
Your clearly underestimating howes importance to our club. A lot of our players are players that were here under Bruce, but howes somehow managed to massively over achieve with those same players, which in reality we would of been quite happy for any of them to be sold for next to nothing. Last season he finished 7th despite having to play our B team throughout the season. I cant think of many managers that could of done that. You've seen the likes of liverpool suffer badly when they just have a few of their players out injured, and city even struggled without some of their star players, despite having a squad full of superstars to fall back on, ffs we had like 3 keepers, matt Ritchie, and some teenagers to work with.
Disagree. If Howe and Mitchell can sort out how to happily work together it can be a football marriage made in heaven. Mitchell finds the hidden gems that Howe thinks he can work with and Eddie improves them like he has done with many already. Perfect way to beat PSR spending restrictions. Only hope Howe welcomes Bunce opinions on his training methods to ease squad injuries.
I think he needs to go. We need to be building a team for the future and can't have our ambition capped to Bournemouth and Burnley levels. He is a good manager but there's actual winners out there.

Superb show as always my opinion if England come calling Eddie will be off
Go Eagles!!!!
🦅
He reminds me of the umbrella guy manager 😂
Is Daren Eals not doing EXACTLY what Penfold did in dumping EVERYTHING on Eddies shoulders. It's time Eals showed his metal and faced the music..!
A couple of occasions last year showed him as being quite tactically naive!
Couple? More like 6 or 8 occasions
@@susysamalex I could write a list of bizarre decisions that would look bad at a league 2 club.
What a load of bull. He said the obvious. Same as any other person. If I’m not happy in my job, I’ll leave. Idiots twisting it again.
He also needs to get rid of players like longstaff, wilson,Tripp, and almiron to go to next level
HI guys
Hi Rob!!!
If Eddie Howe don’t have a good start he will get the chop and if not top 4 by Xmas with that favourable start he’s gone after this interview

You don’t put these Saudis into a corner, dangerous game that.
The clock is ticking
Back him
Howe out!
I've said this for a few months now. He's had his time, and he's out of his depth. Anyone who doesn't see this needs to wake up.
Finally, something who is being realistic. Eddie Howe is a prejudice manager who selects his favourites rather than players based on ability. The players he's been trying to sign recently are Championship players at best. Lloyd Kelly is absolutely useless
Is it attention or approval you’re after? Respect maybe? Which is it?
Great let's hire more uselessness so that when we're inevitably mid table they can think their way out of a paper bag and pick up massive wages in the process. Some changes I get and some I don't, I just don't want the club losing it's soul in the process.
Innocuous? Pretty sure his press pack hour was pretty …… ‘ocuous’ (is that even a word?)
It definitely should be! I meant they seemed innocuous at first glance but then if you go in it’s like… ocuous
Bournemouth away on matchweek 2 is a massive test for Howe and we must win that game - it’s ridiculous how we can’t beat them. We must beat Ipswich Town too, but I think we could lose the away game. No more struggling against smaller teams e.g. Luton and Blackburn etc.
Im gutted we sold Anderson ahhhh
I wish you wouldn’t bring Twitter reactions and social media mentality to the podcast .. it’s notoriously a cesspit of mental behaviour and really doesn’t make for any sensible chat or debate.
I think your making a mountain out of a mole hill and sensationalising. Let it be and stop adding to the media hype. Theres been allot of changes at NUFC in such a short space of time that its only natural for everyone to find their feet and adjust to the new ways of doing things..
We specifically don’t! Did you listen?
@@charlotterobson7015Your being protective, but your vid was a long debate about the recent Eddie Howe interviews...hanging your hat on the recent media nonsense. You were all having a debate suggesting the types of things the gutter media have been coming out with,... you even called Eddie a drama queen...!
@@aldospagnoli4477no I didn’t! I literally said he’s not a drama queen but for him this feels dramatic. Because he’s *not* a drama queen.
Finaly lets get him out. Need a proper manager.
Some right miserable comments
Have you forgotten life pre Eddie?
Life pre-Eddie is incomparable because we didn’t have Saudi owners pumping millions into bettering the football club. Did we have £63m 2nd best striker in the league pre-Eddie? Or an England international on the left pre-Eddie? Or Brazil’s best midfielder who Man City want pre-Eddie?
@@hjc9912 pretty obvious the plastic fans will suddenly appear. No doubt whingeing if we dont win the league
We dont need nutjobs..we need fans
But Howe has my full support for now, no bed-wetting here, just an opinion.
sorry get shot of howe he is not bigger than the club END OF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Let's be honest, Howe isn't going to win anything in the next few years but he has served the club well. He simply doesn't have a big game mentality and his In game management is reactive rather than pro active, so he would be the perfect manager for England.
What a load of tosh. He has half the budget of the clubs he is competing with. As for his "big game mentality"
We beat Man City, Man U (twice), Villa (twice), Spurs, PSG and Arsenal last season
If you think another manager will come in and get better results with the same resources your barking mad
And when it mattered, cups etc, we lost.
Based on what evidence?
Disagree. If Howe and Mitchell can sort out how to happily work together it can be a football marriage made in heaven. Mitchell finds the hidden gems that Howe thinks he can work with and Eddie improves them like he has done with many already. Perfect way to beat PSR spending restrictions. Only hope Howe welcomes Bunce opinions on his training methods to ease squad injuries.
let him go if he wants to ffs all this BS if he wants out go then
His too attached to injury prone players
I think he needs to go. We need to be building a team for the future and can't have our ambition capped to Bournemouth and Burnley levels. He is a good manager but there's actual winners out there.
Genuine question, like who?
@@Deebles107 Allegri, Tuchel, Poch (slightly better bot my first choice)
