I did that, ride the entire #2 line, once in my life growing up in NYC, and it was in 1982. Memory might be a little hazy, but back then, it was the 2 & 3 trains that ran in my section of Brooklyn (Sterling St), then it went to the 2 & 5 not too long after that. I can remember the change in route color from the red 3 to the green 5.

The 2 train is the longest of A Division. A train ins the longest of B Division. 2 Train only looses to A train in distance, but is much more crowded and has more ridership than A train.
Between the A and the 2 trains being the longest routes in the NYC Subway System, I think it’s a tie however the A train makes all local stops late nights so as the 2 train. You should make a subway contest about which is the longest and reliable subway train in the Subway System!
Honestly in terms of reliability, they're both trash overnight because the 2 handles the Bronx and Brooklyn by itself, and the the Alpha has horrible headways in Bk and Manhattan.
@@FuseguyisCoolAnd the 2 could have been longer Flatbush was not planned to be the last stop of the 2 and 5 which it wasn't to be honest wish both can go to Manhattan Beach I don't know why MTA is so slow sometimes should have made the trains go to kings highway or Voorhies Ave that would been great no long bus rides near Flatbush the trains are good when it is not delayed
