Lets unpack it and discuss

DISCLAIMER: I do NOT believe it’s Nightmare. I simply wanted to play devils advocate and make the case as to why it COULD be, as well as get your thoughts on what you think.
Wait so if you don’t believe it’s nightmare movie what else could it be?
It has to be a massive ip because they would do all this for something small ( imo as it make no sense to build anything up without having any public confirmation)
The only thing bugging me is ancient thing but saying a a nightmare on elm street is the second thing new line has done properly, the first being alone in the dark (idk if it’s true just what’s shown on IMDB) so its possible
I truly don’t know, and it’s bugging the hell out of me. I talked to John Squires at Bloody Disgusting and he assured me it wasn’t Nightmare. But I don’t know what other properties New Line would have that they could be rebooting. I do believe it’s an established IP though
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn yeah the more I look into the more it feel like it’s going towards a nightmare but to be that just feels not wrong but weird,
Unless the ‘ancient’ refers to the actual character age in the lore which the also kinda leans towards Freddy still,
I guess it could be night of the living dead or even Texas chainsaw massacre both of them are “ancient” just the other stuff doesn’t match up
But I guess IF it is nightmare on elm street then i assume it’ll be a very closely kept secret and nigh impossible to find out otherwise I don’t see the point in posting about the secret movie
Also just a side thing is it know if it’s a reboot or could it be a sequel like how Halloween worked?
Now I think about it It’s most likely something linked to the evil dead franchise
My heart wants nightmare. My brain says probably not.
You and me both 😢
In New Nightmare, Wes Craven described Freddy as the current embodiment of something ancient, that's very old, has existed in different forms at different times. Nancy says, "You're saying Freddy is this ancient thing?" Wes says, "Right. The current version." The press release sounds like they're talking about Freddy. Not necessarily the way we think of him, or the way its been handled by the franchise to this point. Cronin had a new take on Evil Dead, I'd guess he thinks they have a take on Nightmare.
Nightmares are ancient.
I really wanted a Mike Flanagan Nightmare. And not Blumhouse involved
I hope it’s not a new Nightmare movie from BumHouse. I would hate to not watch a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie.
Blumhouse needs to be kept away from Nightmare!
BLUM WILL RULE THE WORLD
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn Based on how his last two horror films did, probably not!
@@entertainmentwizard2703 oh trust me, Blum ain’t hurting for cash lol. But im just playing
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn Oh I have no doubt of that, he probably has multiple yachts lol!
It’s odd that they scribble out the title of the movie means they could be hid8ng something also isnt it parten8ng with New line cinema seems odd.
honestly new nightmare is my favorite sequel. id love to see a sequel to that movie. im not a writer but if done right i could see a way of adding robert englund to the film without him playing freddy
I can do without fresh interesting takes on movies usually means it’s woke horse shit
Please let it be Nightmare but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Friday The 13th somehow. I know Blum wants Jason REALLLLLLLY bad and I’d be happy if it was either Elm Street or Friday The 13th. Actually, as long as it’s a good movie, I’d be happy no matter what.
Something quite ancient. Could it be The Blob? That’s reportedly in the works so I could see it be a remake of that movie and I’d be down for it.
Ty Nick for the content. Fingers crossed man!
I don’t want Blum having a monopoly on all the major slasher icons.
If there’s no Robert I don’t want it. Leave the franchise alone - 2010 remake was awful.
maybe it is a version of jeepers creepers that will hopefully have heart put into it. the creeper is ancient.
Night Of The Living Dead? First film is quite ancient, 1968'.
Could be Nightmare, but I doubt it. If it was Nightmare, I'd much rather a director like Ti West at the helm, than Cronin.
Honestly, I’d be down with that
I love your shirt. "I am McLovin!"
Superbad is such a good movie!
"why the FUCK would it be between that and Mohammed?! why don't you just pick a common name like a normal person?!"
@@Stefan_Gerards Hahahaha!!! That movie was awesome! I graduated high school in 2007 so every time I watch, it transports me back to that point in time. Things were different back then.
@@Derek032789 wish i had seen it in the cinema myself, EASILY one of the greatest comedies of all time!
i would love for it to be about connections to area 51alien
Maybe Jason Blum and James wan won the rights to nightmare on elm street with New Line cinema that’s who owns the franchise new line cinema /Warner brothers owns the series so maybe 🤔 The rights to nightmares on elm street Is finally made a deal Jason Blum has been trying to get rights to both franchises Jason and Freddy
Sounds like it’s not ANOES sadly
Nightmares are ancient.
ancient.. wishmaster
Unwatch not a chance 😢
How is elm street "Something quite ancient"? 🤔
I don’t think it is either
God, I hope it is!
I want Robert Englund, but we know that prolly won’t happen. Now, a Nightmare with Heather Langenkamp again, that I’d be happy with! ❤
The ancient may be referring to the monster rather than property itself. Either way
I would love it to be a new Freddy film
I'm gonna say it's 100% an Elm Street film ....🙏🙏🙏
Swamp thing 3 😏
I’m in lol
Would love if it’s a new Nightmare movie.
My first take on ancient is its about the monster and not necessarily the property. I would guess the mummy or creature from the black lagoon, both ancient beings. They're making wolf man and made the invisible man. A "modern take" on a creature flick could be so sick
I initially thought those too, but they’re owned by Universal. This is New Line. I was trying to rack my brain to think of what “ancient” property New Line owns
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn mf critters
@@NotIfICU1st_ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@TheLostRiverDriveInwhat about the howling.werewolves are ancient.
Basically a sequel to New Nightmare
“Something Ancient” makes me think of New Nightmare…. Maybe New Nightmare 2
Now THAT is a theory I’ve yet to hear
I agree it could be a Nightmare movie or just the internet reaching. The ancient thing gets me too, that word doesn't describe Freddy well unless we're talking New Nightmare...
Sounds like it Isn’t ANOES. Unfortunately
I genuinely do believe it's Nightmare.
I’d love for you to be right, but, it seems a bit of a stretch for me
I really want to believe it’s ANOES but I just don’t believe it is unfortunately. I wouldn’t call ANOES “ancient”, time will tell what this is.
Yeah I wouldn’t either
Nightmares are ancient.
No it’s not nightmare
I don’t think so either, just wanted to play devils advocate
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn fair enough I hope it is but I’m realistic
We want nightmare. But they might give us wishmaster.
Who knows lol
I wish it was Nightmare on Elm Street that would be awesome the way it was worded that is what Nightmares are made of the fact New Line Cinema is part of this project gives me hope at the same time there has been no report from Bloody Disgusting which is the Hollywood Reporter for Horror I wish it was Nightmare on Elm street guess we will find out soon hopefully
Without an announcement of the rights issues being settled, I’m skeptical of New Line having anything to do with Freddy currently
@@TheLostRiverDriveIn true who knows someone might outbid NEW LINE CINEMA for the rights to Nightmare on Elm Street
Freddy
I hope it is Nightmare.
You and me both
I think it could be ELM. They usually wouldn’t hype up a random new IP two years early. If it’s not Elm St, I think it’s part of a bigger IP.
It’s definitely an existing IP, that’s for sure
