Let’s just be honest; There are some movies that need a fresh update. Some don’t age well, some have run their course. Whatever the reason, it’s just a fact.
Today, I want to give you all five series that I think need a facelift.

One horror film I would love to see remade is Brian De Palma’s Dressed to Kill. Easily one of De Palma’s most underrated films. The whole film is a homage to Hitchcock, and some have even called it a remake of Psycho, although I think that’s a bit of a stretch. Also The film’s subject material is far more relevant now than it ever has been, similarly to another film you mentioned, but I also think at the same time it could be seen as highly problematic even though the original film handles the subject very well and sincerely. In the end it even goes to explain to the audience what a transsexual is in a fairly sensitive way.
For anyone who doesn’t know what the film is about, essentially the plot is a therapist’s client is murdered and the therapist believes the killer to be a client of his named Bobby, a transsexual that the therapist denied a sex change for. The therapist is played by Michael Caine, and I think the best choice to play that character in the remake is John Lithgow. When you watch the film you will understand why, but also because of his connection with De Palma having worked on his films Obsession, Blow Out, and Raising Cain. It would be a nice way to pay homage to the De Palma.
I would also love a remake of another De Palma film called Sisters from 1972. The film revolves around twin sisters. One of the twins murders a man and a reporter sees it and calls the police, but thanks to her reporting on police corruption they don’t take her seriously. So she tried to solve the murder herself. Then it get really crazy at the end. It makes me question what happened.
“There was no _____ because there was no ____.”
    That’s line is so chilling.
Sorry for such a long comment. De Palma is just easily my favorite director of all time. From Carrie and Dressed to Kill, to Scarface and The Untouchables, to Blow Out and Snake Eyes, to Casualties of War and Mission impossible, to The Wedding Party and Hi Mom. De Palma has made amazing films across many genres like Horror, Crime dramas, mystery thrillers, Action, and Comedy. Even though his work this century hasn’t been that good, I still can’t wait for his 2 upcoming films Sweet Vengeance and Catch and Kill, which feel like they’re going to be real classic De Palma films. Catch and Kill is a horror film set in Hollywood and featuring a predatory movie mogul. Essentially Harvey Weinstein: The Movie.

One horror movie that I believe could do with a remake is the Stephen King movie Sleepwalkers.
While I have always enjoyed the version that came out back in 1992, I have also always felt like majority of the movie itself was basically a very huge missed opportunity in many ways especially with the titular Sleepwalkers themselves.
Another one I feel could benefit from a remake is The Tommyknockers, another Stephen King movie that I personally enjoy for similar reasons as Sleepwalkers.
I especially think that a remake of The Tommyknockers could definitely do well if it were released theatrically like with the IT remake.
Love your videos by the way! Keep up the awesome work!

Never liked Phantasm. Watched the first movie. Did not like it. Only liked the music.
Watched part 2, again, didn't get it. I've seen parts of 3.
Pumpkinhead. Love Pumpkinhead and Pumpkinhead 2.
The rest suck and I mean really really suck and insulting to the franchise.
But I will say "A pumpkinhead remake"??? HELL NO. There are only 2 good Pumpkinhead movies and you want to make a REMAKE!? Not a sequel?!
Why not just another "sequel" which could still quality as a remake technically. The word 'remake" just seems so weird for Pumpkinhead, because each time it's a different pumpkinhead it. So there is no "continueing the story from the last movie". Each movie is it's individual movie. Every Pumpkinhead movie could technically quality as a "remake" or "sequel". Part 2 is definitely a remake. Takes Pumpkinhead and the basic idea of a revenge, and the rest of the movie is it's own thing. It's a reimagining of the Pumpkinhead story we got from the first movie. That is one reason why fans don't like part 2. Because it's a different story from the first movie. Just seems totally pointless to make a remake. Because the original movie is a great, a classic, and there is so much more you can and should do with the Pumpkin head franchise. By making a Pumpkinhead remake, you just putting it into a box. The box needs to be open and we get to get more and more Pumpkinhead movies. So reboot it. Give us "Pumpkinhead 5" I HATE HATE to put those awful scifi movies as cannon, but unless you do "Pumpkinhead: Reborn" or "Pumpkinhead: Back for revenge" or what ever, then Pumpkinhead 5 and give us a totally different Pumpkinhead story. So that is a terrible idea and gets at the heart of the problem of making a remake.
To quote a fellow horror fan "What's the point of a remake if it imitates the original? But on that note, I would also ask 'Whats the point of creating a remake that is totally different? If that's the case, then call it by a totally different title instead of milking off the iconic character and title? There is obviously a problem with either choice you make. The only solution is to NOT MAKE A REMAKE." I think Pumpkinhead can have far more stories then what we've ALREADY SEEN and what has ALREADY been done. I want to see MORE Pumpkinhead but I also don't want to see the SAME MOVIE done over again. So no. Make a Pumpkinhead 5 and do something new. I don't need "Country boy dies from drunk guys on bikes. Drunk guy takes the others hostage." and we get the same damn movie. I want Pumpkinhead vs a satanic cult. I want pumpkinhead in the snow. Hell, give us a totally new Pumpkinhead in a totally different country. Like Pumpkinhead in Mexico or something and its a Mexican version of Pumpkinhead. Do cool stuff like that.
Sleepaway camp "is mean spirited while also being upbeat." exactly. Which I love.

I’ll say this first to get it out of the way. I have no faith in Hollywood to make anything worthwhile with the franchises you listed.
Having said that I’ll exit Debbie Downer mode, and I absolutely agree with you about Phantasm. Great concept with abundant potential.
Generally agree with the rest with one stipulation. If it was made with some care for the franchise and not just a complete money grab. Children of the Corn has lots to work with.
The only one I disagree with is Sleepaway Camp. The ending makes that movie. That’s so out of left field nothing they could concoct can compete IMO.
Final Destination could use a reboot. There’s potential there for a creative movie maker.
Agree about Jaws. Stay away from Jaws 3 & 4 though. That would be like messing with the Sistine Chapel.
