- This is fan-filmed footage of the last two songs of the VOIVOD live performance at Revolution Live, Fort Lauderdale, on May 16th, 2023, where they were joined by former METALLICA and VOIVOD bassist JASON NEWSTED.
The two songs played were:
1.- Rebel Robot (1:58)
2.- Voivod (7:58)

God I love this band so FUCKING much - I've been a fan since 1980s - Voivod's music has gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life. Not to sound overly dramatic but Voivods music has been an escape for me for decades and not sure I would be here alive today without Voivod.
I've lived so much of my life feeling like I am outcast in the wrong universe and wrong timeline and somehow VoiVod made it feel like I wasn't alone.

I was there with my kid. It was a great show, Jason popping out for the Encore was the cherry on top 🤘🏻👽🤘🏻
Love Voivod and glad their friend Newsted is rocking with them.

I remember seeing them at Sundance a club on Long Island in New York back in early 90’s. Packed house and as soon as they started playing the crowd went insane! Seemed like one huge slamming pit, fights broke out- one right in front of me. They sounded awesome too, love them live. This crowd looks like they need some bath salts or something, but it is Florida 😂🎉
I love that Rocky sits back on "Voivod" and lets Jason do his thing!

Saw Voivod w Jasonic on Ozzfest when he was pulling double duty w Ozzy as well; from side of stage I could see Jason's rig flight cases w Metallica logos still on them. Very interesting.

I was never a metal fan (nor i was a hater, i liked some stuff, despiced some too), but many of my friends turned from punk/ hardcore to thrash/death/black metal. VOI VOD were one of the bands that had original style. Not a big fan, but big respect from me. I love weird melting of styles. CELTIC FROST is an example too. They were good even at their worst (the glam sell out,forgot the record title, FROZEN LAKE?!)

Jason recorded the first F&J album, then Metallica noticed him at one of their shows and tapped him to leave Flotsam. So, not sure about that being the right thing. Maybe if he's asked to play anything live from Doomsday, but other than that...
@@AlexRamosDrTazHe was an important member , writer and founder member of The Band. I think that He should consider that and The guys os Flotsan too and call him back
He did, in 2012 they rehearsed regularly for a Doomsday anniversary tour but schedule wise he said it didn't work out though he wrote several new songs with them that were included on the ugly noise album. He then decided to form the Newsted band.

so what are we supposed to make of this?...voivod was an awesome band. jason newsted came from a pretty good band (flotsam and jetsam) and then joined an ok band (metalica) that was considered awesome. Then he joined the awesome band Voivod....is newsted overrated or was his trajerctory a problem?
Shame Denis had to check out. Love his guitar style. This ain't bad though!
He died of colon cancer in 2005 .
