What side skirts do you have on your e30?
@derkm has your getrag held up fine with your turbo setup? I'm piecing together a swap, expecting 260whp and cant decide whether or not to just upgrade to a ZF. Though the ZF would handle the power then there are the issues with money shifting, sloppy shifter, etc 🤷♂️
I've had my current getrag 260 in the car for the past 2 years I believe but this is my 3rd one 😅 not sure if I was just unlucky but the first two g260s didn't last too long. As long as you get one in decent condition, it should handle 260whp no problem but a zf would be nice. Not sure what you'd need to run the zf on an m20 but im sure its doable
Is the oem size shaft comfortable enough to daily a car. Im looking to get the chassis mount shifter for my e28 when i do the manual swap but i want it to look oem. So is it comfortable to use daily or is it to stiff and tiring to use daily?
H D I was questioning myself about the same thing. So I went with a medium, I didn’t want mine too notchy for my daily.
is the oem height too difficult to shift for a daily? been debating between it and a full shifter rebuild with poly+delrin bushings, dssr, and z3 short shifter. i really want the solid shifter but i'm worried it might get annoying in my daily. what's your take on that?
Good question! The oem height, in my configuration, is a little too difficult to shift sometimes but I think it can be a bit easier by adjusting the bottom part of the shifter that connects to the dssr although I havent tried it yet. The z3 shifter with the Garagistic shifter rebuild & poly/delrin bushings and dssr was perfect for daily use; but it's all preference! I like that the solid mount shifter is customizable and I'm currently running the medium height handle and I'm loving it.
@@derkm hmm yeah i wonder what it's like with the most lenient setting for that bottom part then.. for some reason i still doubt it'll be enough to make it truly comfortable, but i think you told me exactly what i needed to be able to decide. the solid mount is cool and glamorous buti think i'm gonna go with the rebuilt z3 setup, thanks!
hi @derkm do you need you change your rear carrier assembly when installing the chassis mount shifter? Or is it cool running the stock assembly? haha
It eliminates the need to run a rear carrier assembly completely! All you'd need to refresh the whole shifter assembly with the chassis mount shifter would be the selector rod joint and a DSSR. Remember to run poly motor and engine mounts as well

Has the NVH gone down a bit since you installed these? I hear it gets better with time as the poly gets a bit softer.
I've since switched to the Garagistic supreme shifter as of a year ago but the NVH did go down a bit after running the poly bushings for a bit! To be fair, they weren't too bad imo when I initially installed them either.
What diffusor is this I like it a lot
It's a custom dtm fiberwerks diffuser they made for one of their old shop cars. Unfortunately, it's the only one I know of that they made but I think they make a similar one that's on their website!

What did you do for the reverse lights?
I drilled a hole next to the shifter so the wire could pass through. Also added a grommet so it wouldnt cut into the wiring 👍👍

So what’s it like running those mounts?
They're great! Didn't add as much vibration as I thought it would. Car feels a bit more solid and responsive with these poly motor mounts and matching poly trans mounts.
What are those side skirts ?
Unfortunately im not sure :/ came with the car when i bought it as a shell and they have no branding on them. Im looking to get them scanned and remade. If you're interested in purchasing one of those when i get them made, shoot me a dm @derkm

It's a one-off DTM Fiberwerks rear diffuser they made for an old shop car they had. If you google "eurostop E30", its the same one on that red/black E30 👍

Only maybe around 250whp at the moment according to multiple people's estimate. Still need to get it dyno tuned and gotta turn up the boost 😬
