- I thought I'd put up an extended version of the ride through London we had the other Friday night, but just the chest camera , with no music , just engine & street sounds. This is definitely not for everyone... but some folks find this therapeutic hahaha ... apparently ,
Fighting through London at Christmas , 2-up on Road King Special. London was always hectic, but now with the 20mph almost everywhere.. it's a drag for sure. Lets go see the lights she says , okay.. lets. It's just about counting to ten a lot .. and breathing in as you squeeze through here and there .. The Road King is wide bike with the panniers.. but still fine to weave through the city.

Love the engine sound! Right now I'm in another country from my own 2001 Road King, so this video has to fill the void in my heart in the meantime.

Hey Mark & Lisa, just watched this video (I thought I already had) so a bit late. It’s been nearly 30 years since I was a London dispatch rider and haven’t been back since, but watching your London videos it strikes me that although the traffic is just as crazy those disco Rikshaw things are mad and would definitely do my head in if I was still working there. Anyway, all the best.. Ian
Oh yeah they are annoying if only for their poor taste in music. ! But the worst thing is 20mph restriction .. painful to ride in London now .. but she wanted to see the lights … I wasn’t getting on a train .

Downtown riding is in a world of its own. I enjoyed seeing your bike with lit speedometer gauge as you traversed in traffic with so many variables you handled well. For some, this is an example of white-knuckled riding at its best!

Hello . Thanks for your great message . Yes I’m riding a 2022 Road King Special and have my wife on the back , she wanted to see the Christmas lights .. this is the best way… I used to ride up the City a lot on my old chopper , which was much thinner , I’ve always loved it , it’s very different to country or mountain riding but I enjoy it . It’s just not as much fun as they put 20mph speed limit on most of London now .. but kinda good fun weaving and splitting , keeps you on your toes. I’m very new to making videos but yeah I intend to do some faster road and empty country stuff . It’ll come .

I must say that reply is a work of literature art .. so well put . The Road King has always caught my eye . It certainly makes travelling an incredible experience. We have some great trips planned for next year , it’s just a shame work is mingling in between!

I keep thinking of doing an evening ride into London on my street bob, get some good photos etc. Used to commute in daily but all my work is fairly local to home now. Essex boy these days like yourself .
I gotta be honest . With the 20 mph restrictions… it was no where near the fun it used to be … I used to pop up lots , especially 20 years ago , for ride or gig, but so many cameras now .. gotta have eyes in back of your head . Saying that , it was still cool , just so different to old days .. 20mph is so slow it actually feels dangerous.
