Another great upload. I used to ride with big groups, sometimes as many as fifteen or twenty. All over UK and Europe. Had some right ding dongs with those lads :-) but we had a couple of rules, even as knobhead youngsters. We used a second man drop off, we had a gobby bastard shout "two minutes!" before we left anywhere and if you weren't moving you were left behind. Tough shit. Oh, and everyone rides their own ride. That was it, for "rules". Amazingly, it actually worked and it ended up being some of the best of times, with the closest of mates. Still see a few of them even though we were from all over the country. I'm not sure I could do that again, definitely a young lad's thing. I think it's just something that comes with age, like getting up for a piss in the night, or making a noise when you stand up. We like what we like, we don't like having to accomodate other people's foibles, we are incredibly aware of the arrow of time hurtling in only one direction and fuck that to wasting any of what free time we have left. Then again, a two or three bike trip with those real close people from back in the day, it's class. I feel blessed to have the choice really. Ride safe and free.
Agree 100% wife and I are on the same flow when we ride together, we don’t care much for ever doing group rides, did plenty enough in our late 20s and it was the same BS you described, made me laugh 😂

So true. Me and my wife ride separate bikes together and that’s great. We know our riding styles perfectly and pretty much know what we’re thinking. When to pull over, when to eat. (Most of the time) and what views we want to see. A few years ago we had a friend who introduced us to her husband who was also a biker. When he heard we were going to Cornwall for a holiday he said. Do you mind if we tag along. I thought fuck off mate this is me and my wife’s time but of cause being English we said. Oh how lovely please do. However I did explain that during the day we do our own thing and we meet up in the evening. Sure he said that’s cool. Well as sure as the night follows the day he turned out to be a complete knob who couldn’t understand why we as a couple wanted to spend time together. The holiday was a nightmare. I love riding in groups for day trips but as for long haul I prefer just us two. I feel so blessed that my wife rides and does all her own servicing. A top bird is the best way to describe her. We also have a Shih-tzu that sits on the back and is a proper petrol head. When we all hit the road I’m in my happy place. Bikes loaded up with camping gear and open road and no plan I hate plans. Great video Mark. Keep em coming.
Wow you three sound amazing , by three I mean you , the top bird and dog in the top box ….. not tag along shadow knob . That’s so cool your Mrs rides too , makes it a bit easier for gear etc and that you can take the dog . Since Lisa don’t ride , I have to take everything on one bike and no room for our dog , he stays with our daughter so very spoilt , but I have to carry Lisa’s toiletries which weigh the same and a medium size dog . But Lisa could never ride a motorcycle, if you’d ever seen her on a bicycle you’d understand haha and as for sense of direction, she’d get lost before we got off our driveway .. but she is the best pillion in the world and we get to shout at each other all the way into the sunset , WOW LOOK AT THAT FUCKK IM HUNGRY etc . Wouldn’t change a thing . Anyway rambling on , good to hear about you guys . Best wishes and happy safe travels always
@@LeanIntoTheWind Ahhh perfect. Well even though we are on separate bikes I am still being shouted at. Haha. Usually at traffic lights where she reminds me that I’ve left my indicator on for the last mile. She has a certain poetic way of doing it bless her usually including a few how shall we say unnecessary words. Even Frankie (the dog ) rolls his eyes. I’m amazed how you guys get so much gear on your bike, however that being said it looks like you got it down to a fine art. Seriously though Mark all three of us here (yes including Frankie) really enjoy your videos. Very well put together and thought out. We can tell you’re a great lyricist through your story telling. It’s an art to be able to tell a good story and you have it down to a tee. Hoping you guys get out during the winter months so we get more adventures from you. Its a time tested theory, if you get six people together in a group at least one is an idiot. Its not that i dont like people its just the human condition. Ive taken extensive polls on this theory...its bona-fide So i ride alone tank to tank, eat what i bring, play my guitar to whatever nature leaves lying around. "They didn't think you were actually serious about all that shit..." LOL! I had the opposite. I'd only been riding a couple years. Went on the first long trip with a friend I've know since we were kids, he's been riding since he was a kid. "We'll just wing it", he said. Turns out his idea of winging it, involves the list of shit you were talking about. LOL! "NO, Brian! I don't have a fucking dry bag, what the fuck is a dry back?" I swear, I think the guy was planning on sleeping in a tree...

@@LeanIntoTheWind nah, the footage is excellent. Exactly fits. Your narrative. Brighton is special when the streets are empty. I used to live so near the sea, with my windows opened in summer, I could hear the waves. And in the back garden someone had put some beautifully tuned solid metal chimes. I think you captured something most people miss. Because I know.
Not really ridden much with others....everyone tells me i'm too slow 😅....rarely do long journeys, I just take off and rattle about for 2 or 3 hours, ride home and feel better ☺
I know well what you speak of. I always bring what I need. If I run out I would never ask anyone to make up for my lameness. I will happily do without. Many men are as helpless as pups.. just saying
One of my biggest regrets in regard to riding is buying a Cardo blue tooth device for my helmet this year. I enjoy listening to Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings as I ride, but then my solace is disturbed by a freaking phone call. I’m tempted to get rid of it, but the damn thing cost me $400! Half the time I don’t even turn it on. It’s tough to unplug when you’re plugged in. Great video, brother. Good reminders given. Thanks.

But Lisa could never ride a motorcycle, if you’d ever seen her on a bicycle you’d understand haha and as for sense of direction, she’d get lost before we got off our driveway .. but she is the best pillion in the world and we get to shout at each other all the way into the sunset ,
WOW
LOOK AT THAT
FUCKK
IM HUNGRY etc .
We personally go out until temp drops below 5 degrees and then we wimp out but we have been caught out in -3 and that ain’t no fun.
Have a great week and send our very best wishes to Lisa.
@@zozoa1 haha the dog rolling it’s eyes killing me !! Thank you for the kind words .. sitting on top deck of ferry and mountains of Spain just came into view .

Yep…… ride alone! 🙏
Stuck in their sleeping bag 🤣
This happened !
@@LeanIntoTheWind I don't doubt it 🙂Every trip has a Captain Fuckup on it. Ideally, it's a hat that gets swapped around evenly. If it's just that one guy...

Thanks mate !
You musta been staying at the tallest building in Brighton! How many flight of stairs? Great vid 👌
Yeah I’d forgotten how tall until I watched video … on the front at Kemptom, they all that high . There was one more floor above us !
Cheers mate
Its a time tested theory, if you get six people together in a group at least one is an idiot. Its not that i dont like people its just the human condition. Ive taken extensive polls on this theory...its bona-fide
So i ride alone tank to tank, eat what i bring, play my guitar to whatever nature leaves lying around. Its not most peoples thing, but im too old to change now. I would consider binge watching all your videos on a camp, but thats where i draw the line for company
Thanks again Mark..Tank.
Hahaha!!! I fucking like you Tank !!!!!
Hahaha what you got against sleeping with squirrels??? Haha ..
very glad that I subscribed could you try the music level a little lower as it is a tad distracting because your story needs no distraction
I concur...
Thanks for feedback, I’ll pay more attention to that in future,
Tbh I had man flu all week and made this in my death bed ..
probably being bunged up affected my judgement..
But I’ll try hard to sort it in future
Love your videos I’ve showed all my riding buddy’s - what town are you riding through in this video? I recognise parts I’m sure
Thank you mate , appreciate the sharing .
This footage from Brighton, it was in December last year , was bout 4am
I couldn’t sleep so just went to see what was happening,
Not a lot tbh .
Hence I’d never used the footage .
@@LeanIntoTheWind ruclips.net/video/DPxME9I6egQ/видео.html this was us lot last weekend, your video was literally an Attenborough explanation of our yearly weekend away haha! keep it twisted!
@@anthonypittaway2815 haha subscribed ! Amazing dude … and CCR!!!
Nope, i wound say something ... when we ride in a group ... we have plans that we stick to it, and we are stopping for fuel or food it's planned ... up early, avoid the traffic, you can bang out 200 miles by lunch time lol
Good to hear dude ! That’s how to do it .
Thanks Mark.
@@robertdaley1194 Cheers Robert !
Agreed.
Know where you are coming from, too many people, too many choices, too many distractions. Given the video is riding around Brighton at night, is this an analogy of the Rat Race?, given during the day these Roads are carnage, Watching, catching up on your work, on a Friday Night. Really inspiring stuff, Dyna ready for next Adventure. I ride alone, EASY.
@@russellmanning4439 nah I’m riding around at night because I’m an insomniac, I had been riding all day too , just happen to wake at 4am and thought , bet it’s nice out , it was very cold .. but Christmas lights were on and it was just interesting… seeing who out , what’s going on , thanks glad you enjoying the videos , happy safe travels .
Best wishes mate
Beginning of the video. Brighton, my stomping ground.
@@yodab.at1746 Yep … the whole video in fact . Hard to see as dark .. 4am ish in December…. Just had the footage that I hadn’t used .. I have man flu and needed to make a video from my bed haha
I used this , bit dark , but it’s all about the narrative… I thought I’d get a lot of comments moaning how dark footage is , but so far getting away with it .
I’ll make up for it on
Why I ride part 10.
I’m
Filming it in Spain in the sun haha
@@LeanIntoTheWind nah, the footage is excellent. Exactly fits. Your narrative.
Brighton is special when the streets are empty. I used to live so near the sea, with my windows opened in summer, I could hear the waves. And in the back garden someone had put some beautifully tuned solid metal chimes. I think you captured something most people miss.
Because I know.
Mine too, a northerner in exile!

Not really ridden much with others....everyone tells me i'm too slow 😅....rarely do long journeys, I just take off and rattle about for 2 or 3 hours, ride home and feel better ☺
Nothing wrong with taking your time , you see more !!!! Sounds perfect .
Superb as always. What camera was it mate? Quite clear for low light

Thanks.
@@MrEmoor I’m with you . Me and Lisa bought a pair of intercoms while on the road trip through Italy , we used them for one day and put them back in box .
Was just distracting..
and I like shouting at her through the wind .
Turn ph call volume down to 0
I'd of left him there, hate people with no social etiquette
