ITS NOT A NEW MPC X ITS A FUCKING SPECIALLY EDITION!!! Idk why that’s soooo hard for y’all to understand??!!!?? It’s the same X with a retro color and more memory!! Who should get??? People who want the X in the retro color and feel the need the extra RAM and Rom to run Akai’s plug ins smoother… THATS IT!! Y’all non Akai MPC users act like y’all have never witnessed a special edition… Maschine released like 3 different colors and all kind of special editions of their Stuff. Akai released the red special color Live II… we’ve seen special before idk why everyone acting brand new. It’s now the X mkII !!!
I needed to see this I was thinking about saling my mpc x but your right I have a lot of sound already in my x I don't need the special addition I'm comfortable with what I have thanks 🙏
Paid cash for mine and I am loving it don't like any of the options you mentioned. Next time buy one use it and then let us know what you really think from experience. Your comments will better serve the current MPC X owners. In my case an MPC Live II owner great purchase, saying this from experience, I actually own the MPC X SE.
Except anyone who is literate can simply check to see what Akai did... which isn't shit. They upgraded the old one with more ram and storage... swing and a miss!
@@The5ivekay sure other companies offer tutorials, but they are still a great service and I thought Akai's were exceptional. Companies have a responsibility to make money as well as please their client base -- I think Akai does a pretty good job at acheiving that balance. I love all their products for real. I wish I had every MPC. I just have the Live 2 now but I am getting the SE
People don't understand what they can do with $2500. Don't spend that much money unless you're making money making beats or production. If you're a beginner or just a hobbyist, save your money
I disagree. People that are looking at the MPC X SE know exactly what they can do with $2500. That’s a lot of bread to spend and people who are into making music with MPC’s know what they are getting into. They usually don’t like to use DAW’s and love the stand alone experience without menu diving.
I definitely hear what you’re saying but to replace the MPC X SE with Ableton and push is a horrible suggestion for somebody whos already used to the MPC work flow and feel, if you ask me. It’s completely different experiences. If you had said buy the old MPC X and add a flash card and buy a few MPC plugins or the MPC live or MPC One, it would make more sense. Ableton is an amazing daw but the most disgusting and uninspiring daw to look at. It could make sense for somebody who never used an MPC before though.
Yea you cant really compare those setups at all you can definitely get more technical and do alot more with ableton/push setup.. but to me the whole point of mpc’s is having a standalone machine that you can sample into and layout basic beats really fast with.
People are stressing but its not for the OGs. Its for the collectors and newbies. Its like a new xbox controller with a different color associated with the video game.
Yep. It's up selling like when you go to the mechanic for tires and they persuade you into buying windshield wipers and other things because "you should have the best driving experience".
I went from the MPC Renaissance to the MPC X SE...best investment I've ever made, as far as the abilities that I can do now, I go all the way back starting with the Casio RZ 1 to the TR-808, even being around the Synclavier 2, to the Sp-1200, MPC 60 2, Ensoniq 16 plus, ASR 10, Roland W-30, MPC 3000 on up, I can keep going! I have no complaint about this board! Through experience I know how to utilize analog and digital, so I appreciate the upgrades through years of working! Respect!!!
I bought the first MPC X traded it in and got the SE. It comes with more sounds! 4gs of ram! Whats the difference. It is able to process everything much faster. You can add a 2g terabytes bite storage to it. And for the record the MPC X can plug into any board to match the precise sound that you are trying to obtain. I aways find it strange that people that don't have one no so much about what it can't do. Most people are surprised once they get one.
Great point for those who already own the MPC X I never did so I can't wait to receive mine. I am tracking the USPS every minute last I checked mine departed Milan have no idea why it was in Milan.
I agree 100%, I think the MPC X is the way to go for the price tag if you need something bigger, I’ve had my MPC one for 3 years and the only upgrades I need are sounds. Everything else is just an expensive upgrade. At the end of the day they all do just about the same thing but you can never have too many sounds and samples. I have been pricing a MPC X so if I do anything that will be my next purchase.
I bought the X when they dropped the price to make way for the SE. I’d always wanted a MPC so I decided to get one. I’m glad I did. I love it coming from Maschine although I love it also. But the X is definitely what I’ve been looking for. I already had a SSD drive and and some SD cards so I’m good on storage.
@Wilderness Music The Black Box looked interesting I remember watching some videos of it awhile back. Honestly I feel as long as a person is able to get their creativity out of their heads whatever equipment they use is what’s best. There are no rules. Whatever works is what should be used.
Do you own an Mpc. New or old. Or have you owned an Mpc , New or old? What in your opinion would make a future Mpc worthy to purchase. Some people don’t want a computer based /centric Setup . What is your suggestion or your advice for us ? Respectfully
I've spent hours on old MPCs. I'm sample based. I think I should know a little bit about them. When making music you want gear that makes workflow easier so that you can actually complete things. MPC workflow isn't the fastest and takes some getting used to for people. MPC x improved on that. You can't just give your buyers a repackaged, reskinned, piece of hardware. That's the oldest trick in the book in the drug game tbh. Whatever sells is going to sell but it's a slap in the face to charge $2500 for a skin and ram.
I would disagree with the slap in the face, the Mpc x was 2200 right up until they dropped the price to make way for the XSE. So basically you’re spending a few hundred more and getting a lot more instruments minus like two plugins. I saw someone here say over 1100 for what u get with this 1, so basically u’re paying the 2200 u was already paying for the X and an additional 300 for more ram and hard drive as well as over 1100 worth of extras, that is far from a slap in the face imo.
Bro it’s been 6 years since the X came out. For them to just now upgrade it to 4 GB Ram and give us a limited colorway is pretty ridiculous at the price. If they wanted to upgrade the system to match MPC Keys why not do it at a cheaper price point since they are recycling the same machine. Also it’s surprising how many people don’t know the MPC X is literally the same box.
I agree I did my Due Dillagence ,,😉😉lol, and I saw the only difference was ram and gigs. That's it just cause it looks a lil more classy and retro they want almost a rack extra. I can muster up a standard X for 12hun out here in the bay. Fact: I did pay 2100 brand new in 2018. Still priced to high retail wise imo, just buy used and make sure it is fully operable and didn't get it's ass smashed on too hard.
Honestly, no MPC version will give you talent... getting a new one doesn't give you any new super power... Keep what you have, invest in used gear, or even inferior gear until you develop some talent... They just trickle the limited tricks out and don't really give you the things you need. Unless you really want it and you can afford the price... But it's your life, go live it....
@@The5ivekay oh ok I’m a old head that’s loves new tech. So I came from the stand-alone world I have used/owned just about everything that’s out there to make beats on. I went from the Roland MV to the Maschine so most of my power is from my Desktop and I like it that way. I use too many vst’s to be worried about a stand-alone unit.
@@pwho405 true it's all there on the PC it's just emulated. I go outside of the box just to compress and get the analog warmth sometimes with compressors. As far as standalone, I love the Digitakt because I can travel with it and make beats anywhere on it. It slices samples and everything. Can't wait to get some of their other products.
If you’ve already got the X I wouldn’t bother but if you haven’t and got the cash to spare go for it. I believe the o.s and effects take up 1gb of ram. So it actually works out 1gb vs 3gb available ram for your track. Think I’m gunna wait till they start popping up on eBay. Means no warranty so it’s a gamble but if the price is right 🤔 Anyone know what the extra expansion packs are you get with the SE?
I'm a traveller from the future and i got a mpc xXx ,it has Neve converters onboard, 32 gb ram, uses a silicon m4 Pro Max chip from Apple and even can run third party vsts, has also a linear sequencer. PCs are not used anymore for music making we all use standalone mpcs and hardware romplers are back in fashion, no more corny thin sounding music on the radio its the bomb !!!
I agree 100%!!! I go onto Akai forums and Facebook groups and we as the consumer for years have been accepting anything from Akai. I bought the Renaissance and the Touch when they both were released, and I knew then that I was getting the same software a.k.a two separate licenses for the same thing. I used the Touch when I traveled for work in the hotel and the Ren stayed at home, also I have a PC and a MAC for music production, so I am not switching from one computer to the other with my MPC's. Since the release of both of those MPC's Akai has just been repackaging the same software with a different controller or a new feature. It is like going from a basic computer mouse with a cable, to a blue tooth mouse, to a fancier mouse with extra button functions. It still does the same basic thing! Akai knows this and has given us nothing but a new mouse every year. If you purchased one of the latest MPC's and no other then you made a great purchase and whatever version you have should do what you need it to do but if you have multiple MPC's (Renaissance and beyond) and if you aren’t a collector as some people are then save your money and really think about which one will fit your recording style, setup and most importantly budget because they all will do the same thing in the end. My Renaissance and Touch are running the exact same software that every other MPC’s is running that was released after it. Do realize that you are getting the full suite of their sounds other than two of them if you buy the MPC X SE so that may be worth the purchase alone if you are new to MPC’s or you want to upgrade but if you have the original MPC X for a while and like it consider spending another $1,163 for the MPC Instrument Collection and you will have everything that comes with the MPC X SE. Just understand that some of the plugins may not run as efficient on the MPC X as they would on the MPC X SE because of RAM and hard drive space.
You bought the stuff and supported your favourite brand Akai and because of people like you the business gained enough money to stay at the top of the music hardware game.
The MPC Touch and Ren are only controllers. MPC users begged Akai for 5 years to release another hardware MPC. And Akai delivered 3 models at every price point. In addition to that, they kept adding new features which is something they have never done before. The only people that seem to be disappointed are those that can't afford the new models and those who felt they should have received one for free but didn't.
Amen. Keep your money until they release a real upgrade. Coming from someone who has had an MPC60, 3000, 2000, 2kxl, 2500, 4000 and One. The One is still my fav so far.
Akai is doing the same thing as Apple. They sell us the same iPhone every year with a extra camera lens and slightly brighter screen and maybe 1 new color. But it’s basically the same phone. Akai sells us the same sound in each Mpc these days just 1 new color and 2 free plug ins which may I add are basic compared to Native instruments plug ins or spectrasonics.
Its very possiible in the pass that we've maintain a substandard practice of business with such organizations to perpetuate less than rather than more . I'm somewhat surprised that these organizations have not offered profit shares in stock revenue as African Americans globally have promoted this brand which can be considered free labor. @@The5ivekay indeed...when 38 million songs on Spotify don't get played, I know the fix is in. These Culture Vultures ain't nothing nice. No Quantize for me... unknown bpms....They just wanna reverse engineer the secret sauce.
If you wanna be the best you gotta have the best , I got the Akai Force , Fantom 8, Fantom G8 and my brand new MPC X SE comes next week nothing like stand alone the real pro S#it no Daw needed worth every single penny
First of all, many of us live in a free country so they can do whatever they want. Whether it be a MPC X/X SE, Live/Live 2, One, or Studio Mk2 unit if they work for you, rock out. If NI is offering you what you need and/or want... Maschine Mikro Mk3, Maschine Mk3, or Maschine Plus standalone... take your pick and cook-up. NI, like Akai, is giving the individual choices and points of entry. If you did a project on the Mikro you should be able to open it up if you decided to upgrade to a Plus standalone unit. Many manufacturers across different segments have been doing the exact same thing for decades. For the latest iterations of MPC's, the X is their flagship offering. It has the most dedicated buttons, knobs, and I/O out of the line-up. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the need or want for the additional features, especially if these additional features are beneficial for the specific end-user.
AD/DA goodness? LOL Then why are there so many people who threw their old MPCs in the closest and purchased the new MPCs? Few people are using MPC 3000s. Its operating system is primitive compared to what we have today.
They could have been unaware that the new MPCs don't sound the same, they could have felt pressured to keep up with times, could also be they felt the OS was too primitive. In any case - with most genres (jazz and classical perhaps being the exceptions) you're gonna be running through some type of AD/DA goodness at some point, or at the very least emulating it. It's just the way it is, anything other than that and you risk having a flat-sounding track. You'd be wrong to think we've done away with it. Whether it's happening at the start of your production process or later in some studio, it's not a thing of the past. Just that sadly AKAI have removed that from their MPCs. Instead they are trying to sell us specs, touchscreens and expansion packs
@@quentinjames981 Sad? I personally know producers that have as many hits as the guys that are complaining. And they are banging out shit with their MPCs...the latest models. You damn right Akai is trying to sell you an MPC with specs / more features than any MPC every created. So use the new models....or go back to the old models. You have a choice.
It's a collectors item. This isn't the norm so that's why they put it out there for that one crazy guy that has to have it all regardless of what's included, same thing as MPC Live 2 Supreme edition but at least this time they include sounds and double the RAM. It's still too high but I'm not buying it anyway, I'm cool with my Live 2 as is and already own the sounds. Akai isn't stupid, the product is too hot to abandon 7 years in just to reset the board, when people stop caring they'll make the true next evolution but most people are just getting started, I got mine 2 years ago and a lot of people did as well, that's why there's so many tutorials and a giant community right now, it's all the last 3 years and I know because it was nothing when I wanted this thing 3 years ago and I've watched it grow in real time. Maybe the 40th they'll be something new/different
I think the best option is the Roland SP-404MKII is the best sampler you can get for $400-$500 that has new features that you can use with a daw and is amazing as a standalone Sampler sure it might not have MPC STEMS or something like that but it’s nice and easy to use but I am biased because that’s the first sampler I have used.
The MPC X SE is the best thing since sliced bread and by the way dreams have no price limit. If you got it and want it then get it. Problem solved. Don’t convinced everybody to be cheap with their dreams. 👍🏾
The thing is, the MPC X SE was made as a collectors item and not an upgrade to the original. Only die hard MPC owners/collectors bought this. There are people who like to own all MPC's AKAI makes.
Yes sir! It's simple, but the influencers are getting free SE's to push them to the public. Luckily many can see right through the marketing. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap, but that's the game. Keep your money!!
Too much expansive for a skin, 4 gigabites of memory instead of 2, and 46 Go drive instead of 16. I have the mpc x, with an ssd, it is really good. The SE is the same with those little modifications for 2500€. It is crazy. I hate this business.
There are many great ways to sample. Personally I love the MPC workflow. I have been using the MPC One for 3 years since it came out. I have been wanting an MPC X for the space, workflow (less menu diving), and having all of the Q-links. I have been on the new MPC X daily since getting it. No regrets. I prefer not being on a computer any more than I have to. I already have the PUSH 2 and the current version of Ableton Live, they are great for what they are. But the MPC X is just better for my creativity, sound design, sampling, and chopping samples.
@@The5ivekay I don't know man -- as a guy who started with a 2000xl way back in the day its pretty special to me, and it won't last long. To get the full features of the X, plus RAM, plus the classic look is a big deal to me. I would say don't get it if you already have an X, but if you are in the X market, might as well cop the pretty boy
You are right they need new converters to make it hit like the Mpc 3000 there giving them away for free to lots of RUclipsrs and those RUclipsrs are saleing us out!!!!
I understand your perspective but I want to purchase a MPC - and the X SE is the best thing in existence. I do not want to wait for a new version. It is expensive but I think it is a good value for me. You don't know if or when Akai will release something better.
The Content Creators Forced AKAI’S Hand To Come Out With A 35th Edition… All I Heard From Them Was That Akai Must Come Out With A 35th Edition Because of The Vibe Must Continue for The Sake Of Having A Better Version of The MPC X… The Customer Has Spoken and Needs To EXCEPT it For What It Is … The Color Scheme Is Dope And It Has 4 GB OF Ram, So The Haters Just Needz To Shut Up… If It’s Crap, The People Won’t Buy It… It’s That Simple.
I already bought the X SE, and I like it. I have to disagree. When the OG X came out it was only a few hundred less, and it has half the ram, plus it didn't/doesn't come with the plugins. You brought up the Digitakt, which cost $899 new, and has far less going for it. I see why someone that doesn't have the money to spend wouldn't buy the X SE, but I like it. I bought it to work as a centerpiece/brain for my other hardware. If you bought other gear separately, to do what the X SE does in one box, it would cost way more. I say if you don't have the money to get one, then don't, but if the X SE fits into your setup, then get it. It's not like it's trash. If Akai builds something that's superior to the X SE, it's going to cost more than $2500. To buy a new Rossum SP1200, you're paying $4000, and it doesn't do what the X SE does.
@@The5ivekay I'm not exactly sure what you're saying about it not being about gear.... What I meant about the gear comment was, if you were to buy multiple pieces of gear, to do what the X SE does, it would cost more than $2500. The X SE is more than a sampler. It's a sequencer, midi hub, DAW, synth, interface, mixer, and sampler. I don't own the Digitakt, but I own the Octatrack MK2, Digitone, Syntakt, and Analog Rytm MK2. The Octatrack MK2 is superior to the Digitakt, and it doesn't do everything that the X SE does. Ultimately, there's more than one way to skin a cat. It doesn't take the best gear to make great music. The thing about the X SE that I like is, I can use it as a Swiss Army Knife. I don't get why people are hating on it so much, when it offers a streamlined workflow that nothing else on the market offers. The hate mob mentality is a real thing. I'm not saying that the X SE is the best sampler, but it is the best brain of a setup that I know of. I own a lot of gear, and there's nothing like it in my collection.
Some people like to dig deep into there hardware to give that human touch on music some people like to click a mouse I prefer the Mpc x se and my Mpc live 2 I don’t need a computer it’s optional but I never use it with the computer . However it’s much easier and more hands on with the Mpc I wouldn’t have it no other way .
@@The5ivekay Yeah for those who can't afford the SE right now. However, I would say if one can't afford the SE instead of buying a used X save your money for the SE or whatever is coming next.
It's always a non MPC user talking about sum'n they lack knowledge of. Lemme clarify this for you, kid: THIS IS A SPECIAL EDITION RELEASE OF THE X NOT A NEW X. The Live II has multiple different special editions. It has the Supreme special edition, it has the Retro version, and it now has the "Timbaland" special edition. Akai has been making special edition versions of their line of products for decades. Do some adequate research.
@5ivekay research and knowing what you're talking about are two different things. You discussed the X SE in this video as if it were a new flagship when, in fact, it isn't. That type of false info you relay would eventually mislead your viewers who may not know any better. Thus promoting misinformation.
So I just watched a video of a guy that doesn't have or hasn't used a product that he's giving a negative opinion on. The products that you recommend instead further lets me know that you don't get it.
U made a whole video about someone else's experience. Man I came here to see someone who actually had one. Not to gossip ...man review something when u got in yo hands dog.
This is a pretty bad take. Mpc are as standalone as you get and with that they have been quite good with the upgrades in terms of adding tools and tightening out their platform. The MPC one is a few years old and totally holds up and will probably hold up for the years to come. I would totally drop that coin on the SE because akai are a good company and they have developed amazing products. I would rather support them and the eco system because their stuff works better for me than Ableton, FL or digitact for that matter. That said the price is "expensive" but that depends on who you are, im someone who purchased my MPC one second hand and if I was making music professionally then its a no brainer tax write off purchase. That said, the One is as good as any of them.
@@The5ivekay Catch you slippin my guy. Thats just it "keep your money until they make a real upgrade" You said their are better cheaper alternatives to the X SE because apparently the X SE dosnt offer really anything new, except it cant really be compared to much else as its a standalone platform. Lets just put it down to "I can't afford it, and imma stick to Ableton"
@@hexnomics7924 I was referring to the xse as it's not a real upgrade from X. Ableton suits my workflow so why change it? I could sell all my gear and get one piece of gear if I want but do I want to? Not really. No slipping being caught. You just want to be superior for some reason. It's not about gear. It's what you can do with it. I can prove that to you any day.
@@hexnomics7924 It depends on how you use your mpc. For the extention and plugin users the X SE appears to be great, but what about those who kept the mpc legacy alive and use it mainly as a sampler? Lots of those people only asked for a better timestretch and warp functions.
@@The5ivekay But you're back peddling hard in the comments despite your video on the topic. I get it, its 2500 with some extra performance, space and a classic reskin. But from what I read from the marketing, Akai is not trying to bamboozel anyone into thinking its an "upgrade" when arguably it is in comparison to the X. They are just saying its a "Special Edition" with some extra bells and whistles. Its not even deceptive Saying its lazy is just asinine, they are probably doing it because there is some demand for the classic reskin, they are not trying to strong arm you into a subscription to their software. (hoping my comment dosnt age like milk) That said, paying devs to make good software is not cheap, so I completely respect them from a business decision to do this to pay for the improvement of their current line of products and development. im not trying to 1 up you on your arguments is as it gets us no where lol. I just disagree with you. You sound self serving because you can't afford it. I agree with you that, its not about gear, its how you use it. Use buckets for a drum kit and sound killer cause you have chops, but if you are an average player sitting on a pearl masters kit your gonna sound as good as you play.
What is with people that have zero experience with a product and zero professional achievements in the industry always giving gear advice? You don’t see metro boomin or Noah 40 bashing the mpc but here these bedroom RUclipsrs come dropping opinions based on what experience? A comment someone made on Reddit?
@@The5ivekay bro seriously don’t even come at people like that. You’re up here on RUclips uploading videos giving advice and I’m challenging the source it’s coming from. I don’t see any videos of you on any MPC X or MPC classic. I don’t see you in a studio working on artist we’ve heard of. So what makes you think people need to hear your opinion? This is just bad information. It’s doesn’t matter what I have or haven’t done. I’m not the one uploading videos on RUclips giving people advice with no experience on the topic. You people uploading videos to the masses need to kill that excuse when someone challenges your experience. Cause you’ll never win when you try to blow smoke on what audience you do have. I’ve owned the 2000xl since 2001. I owned the MPC X since launch, I’ve owned the MPC One since launch, I’ve owned the Akai Force since launch. I owned the original Maschine. I own an ASR 10, sp404sx and the sp404mk2, I own a tr8 and a tr8s. I’ve used Wavelab since 2003, and in between that a bunch of other gear that can sample or work with sample. Last month I purchased the MPC X SE. I’m more than well versed and qualified on this subject and I’m not the only one in these comments she. It comes to vids like this. There are people out here with more time and experience than you clicking on videos and watching them. When someone like me who owns the things you’re talking about and I’ve got to hear stuff like “what difference does more ram make?” It sound dumb as hell. You can’t even figure out that the MPC X SE processes sounds and programs faster. When I brought my mpc 2000xl in 01’ it was slow as hell. You had to buy more ram for it and install it to make it quicker. Otherwise you’d be waiting all day for your samples to process and your sounds and beats to load up. That’s why knowing what you talk about matters when you’re trying to dump advice on folks. If you had a. MPC X SE infront of you and an MPC X next to it maybe you might be worth listening too. But all you’re doing is trying to get views by dumping a wrong opinion on a trending topic like many “type beat” RUclipsrs do. Don’t get all scary at dudes that pop up and drop comments that are more knowledgeable about a topic than you. You’re telling people not to buy something and you don’t even understand what it is. The MPC X SE is just an updated replacement for the MPC X. It’s needed the ram and additional storage space to optimize on the new software and plugins Akai has dropped for these units. Special editions are nothing new for akai. The MPC 2000xl and 3000 all have special editions going way back to 2001. They cost way more than the stock version but didn’t add much other than a paint scheme. So when folks complain about the MPC X SE. it being anything all that new sounds stupid as hell. That is what a special edition is for akai and it’s always been tradition going back decades. Y’all act like this is the first time they ever made an SE. like the 3000 SE and MPC 2000XL SE never existed. That’s what I’m getting at. You dudes need to chill with these topic uploads and blowing smoke at folks calling you inexperienced dudes out on them. You don’t know enough about the Mpc to drop videos about them. You and a lot of other cappers trying to capitalize on the “let’s talk about the mpc trend” and you never even touched or made a beat on an MPC on your life.
@@The5ivekay my comment isn’t about me or my work. My comment is about you uploading opinions and giving bad advice with no experience behind your words to validate what your trying broadcast to people. I can’t talk about how to synthesis molecules if I’m not a chemist, I can’t give tips on having sex if I’m a virgin and so on and so fourth. You can have opinions on all that though. But, without the certified experience or expertise of the field your opinion does not mean much and when challenged you have no expertise or experience to validate your points. How is asking me “what does my music sound like” validate you not understanding the difference of 4gigs of ram over 2 gigs of ram and the performance benefit of it? If my music sounded better or worse than yours what difference would that make at all to the subject matter? I don’t have to be a good doctor to practice medicine but I am a doctor because I’ve met the educational requirements to be recognized and legalized as one. Wether you come to my practice and have a good experience or not doesn’t matter. I’m still a doctor and your still just a patient. Your medical knowledge and self diagnosis will never surpass mine or be certified as accurate because you are not a doctor I am. As a doctor only I can officially diagnose you. If I’m the best or worst doctor in the state it doesn’t matter. My word will always overrule your opinion because it is recognized that I have the experience and requirements to be recognized as an expert in my field. So come back to you and your opinion on the MPC. What certification or equal experience with this product do you have to validate any opinion that your making about it? I own the very product you are talking about. How is your opinion greater than my opinion when you have zero time using the very thing you’re talking about? If had to rant about Akai my rant would be based on experience. For instance I’d love to rant about the Akai force and how it should have had a bigger screen that could tilt so I could see my program layouts easier, it’s own software so I can maximize my clips and do more in-depth program editing, full-size midi ports so I can sync my keyboards without using adapters and more access buttons so you don’t have to hit shift all the time to get to basic features that have dedicated buttons on the mpc. I could rant about the clip mode and how using it would be easier if each clip displayed my grid data when I activated one so I record into it easier. I could rant about that product but everything I mentioned is based on my experience in using it. Not by reading some random dudes comment or watching some expired producer who hasn’t ever had a hit whine about resistors or some crap and not even back up their argument with proof. No imma rant about my experiences with that product. If I tell people not to buy it (which I have no right to do to each their own) at least it’s based on the time and years I spent using it. You on the other hand couldn’t even tell me where the on button for the MPC X SE is but you’re going to drop advice on me like you’re fluent with this machine. If you notice I’m not attacking you personally or your music or anything on that level. I’m simply telling you to have experience on the products you’re speaking on if you’re going to tell people not to buy stuff. Why should I take you seriously when nothing on your channel displays that you have any experience with this particular type of equipment? You are not the only person on RUclips playing that game. Last time it was some dude in a video trying to tell me about a $4000 keyboard that he didn’t even own but I had owned and played for years and this dude wanted to argue with me about its features and that know it all had never even opened the product manual or played the instrument in his life. But dude was up on RUclips trying to warn people about something he had no Actual experience using to someone that did. This is a common problem on RUclips that needs to end. It spreads nothing but misinformation.

@@VinylWave11 you could've just purchased the X 👍🏾 there's more ways to make music than spending $2500
People don't understand what they can do with $2500. Don't spend that much money unless you're making money making beats or production. If you're a beginner or just a hobbyist, save your money
MY POINT EXACTLY. 💯
@@stability703 exactly and a certain type of work flow
I also recommended an MPC if you've watched the video all the way through.
Respect!!!
Used to want the Casio Rz-1 so bad back in the day.
MPC X SE was a money grab. I hope the next batch addresses them converters. Give us those MPC 3k ones @ #InMusic 😆
I like mine. Happy I purchased.
Like the retro better than the red on the OG X
If money ain’t a issue and you want a few more gigs Get it.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 🤝🏾
Great point for those who already own the MPC X I never did so I can't wait to receive mine. I am tracking the USPS every minute last I checked mine departed Milan have no idea why it was in Milan.
Make some heat 🔥
I agree 100%, I think the MPC X is the way to go for the price tag if you need something bigger, I’ve had my MPC one for 3 years and the only upgrades I need are sounds. Everything else is just an expensive upgrade. At the end of the day they all do just about the same thing but you can never have too many sounds and samples. I have been pricing a MPC X so if I do anything that will be my next purchase.
I've been seeing some used ones floating around online since the SE dropped.
Right on. Really the only thing they did was add more ram. The storage is moot. Most MPC users have the instruments already
Exactly! ✅
Same!!!
The upgrade from the mpc X to the SE is a blinder!
What upgrade? It's a special edition not an upgrade. That's what these clueless RUclipsrs confuse you guys with. This isn't an MPC X replacement.
@@thablackkat9905 spend your money on it brother 🤝🏾
The same logic should be used with iPhones. (and I'm a fan of the iPhone) Some will hate on you for your take. You are $2500 the wiser.

X SE was hands down the best investment I’ve ever made. I own 5 different MPCs and my X is my baby.

I have maschine also, so you feel moving to Mpc is better ? I have the mpc software I love chopping samples I feel it’s easier than maschine
I dont need a MPC because the only thing that's important in My opinion is the pads and I have those on My MPK 249 and Mini.
@@chrissmith2492 500 more dollars for ram
@@The5ivekay It actually works to 300 more dollars and as I stated it’s not just ram it’s also over 1100 worth of sound banks.
Why make their flagship, MPC X, a cheaper price point when the Live II, One, and Key 61 are available at a lower price????
I agree I did my Due Dillagence ,,😉😉lol, and I saw the only difference was ram and gigs. That's it just cause it looks a lil more classy and retro they want almost a rack extra. I can muster up a standard X for 12hun out here in the bay. Fact: I did pay 2100 brand new in 2018. Still priced to high retail wise imo, just buy used and make sure it is fully operable and didn't get it's ass smashed on too hard.
This is why Fl Studio hasn't been killed because you own the license forever.
FL isn't going anywhere! 👍🏾
So if the real upgrade you want is $4000 you gonna be first in the line to get it?
If it can assist my workflow and if I had space, why not?

PCs are not used anymore for music making we all use standalone mpcs and hardware romplers are back in fashion, no more corny thin sounding music on the radio its the bomb !!!
You can have all this as a pc user right now
I agree 100%!!!
Can you purchase the same instrument collection for Live 2?
Amen. Keep your money until they release a real upgrade. Coming from someone who has had an MPC60, 3000, 2000, 2kxl, 2500, 4000 and One. The One is still my fav so far.
That's the majority's favorite one for sure
Akai is doing the same thing as Apple. They sell us the same iPhone every year with a extra camera lens and slightly brighter screen and maybe 1 new color. But it’s basically the same phone. Akai sells us the same sound in each Mpc these days just 1 new color and 2 free plug ins which may I add are basic compared to Native instruments plug ins or spectrasonics.
Thanks for the video. I just bought a second hand MPC live 1. In US dollars it works out about $335. Cheers

👍🏾🤝🏾
100%. Seems like all these modern MPCs are essentially DAWs-in-a-box, without the AD/DA goodness to make it worthwhile.
AD/DA goodness? LOL
Then why are there so many people who threw their old MPCs in the closest and purchased the new MPCs?

Why do you need more ram when it’s stationary . You might as well have it plugged into your computer anyway which is using the computers ram 😂🤣

Agreed!
It's not about gear. 🤣 The Digitakt gets upgraded constantly anyways and is the brain of my standalone setup. 🤷🏾♂️

It'll be cheaper to just get a used X and all the expansions they're offering for the SE. The X is plenty enough for anything people do on them.
@@The5ivekay Yup, the plugins only cost you $199 on sale ... An used X is like $1000-1200
That's more than a $1000 savings.
@@The5ivekay Yeah for those who can't afford the SE right now. However, I would say if one can't afford the SE instead of buying a used X save your money for the SE or whatever is coming next.
@@DaTHorn definitely save for the next MPC that brings something different to the table.
Yes, as an X owner, it’s magnificent. I will upgrade to the SE as well.
THANK U FOR THA I4🤜🏾🤛🏾
It's always a non MPC user talking about sum'n they lack knowledge of.
I've researched 🤷🏾♂️
@5ivekay research and knowing what you're talking about are two different things. You discussed the X SE in this video as if it were a new flagship when, in fact, it isn't. That type of false info you relay would eventually mislead your viewers who may not know any better. Thus promoting misinformation.
@@thablackkat9905 I said what I said 🤝🏾👍🏾
@@The5ivekay clearly, to the detriment of your viewers.
@@thablackkat9905 you're in the comments so you're one. This special edition wasn't really special. You're missing the point of the video.
Ain’t nothing wrong with grabbing that new X if you never had the x before.
But ain't much different than the precious X and you can save a lot of money.
No experience with product but telling people not to get it??? 🤣
Better question is who is this for??? But you’d have to be able to answer that.
Your comment says (edited) on it. Why waste time typing just to edit it?
@@The5ivekayyou typically edit when you need you need to correct something. Just an assumption but I think that’s why they added that feature. 😆
I will be keeping the original and not upgrading to this as its not even a true upgrade just akai being to greedy.
so your giving a review without having used one ?! lol

Who said anything about the other mpc's being bad and not upgraded?
@@The5ivekay Catch you slippin my guy. Thats just it "keep your money until they make a real upgrade"
You said their are better cheaper alternatives to the X SE because apparently the X SE dosnt offer really anything new, except it cant really be compared to much else as its a standalone platform.
Its not even deceptive
Saying its lazy is just asinine, they are probably doing it because there is some demand for the classic reskin, they are not trying to strong arm you into a subscription to their software. (hoping my comment dosnt age like milk)
That said, paying devs to make good software is not cheap, so I completely respect them from a business decision to do this to pay for the improvement of their current line of products and development.
im not trying to 1 up you on your arguments is as it gets us no where lol. I just disagree with you. You sound self serving because you can't afford it.
I agree with you that, its not about gear, its how you use it. Use buckets for a drum kit and sound killer cause you have chops, but if you are an average player sitting on a pearl masters kit your gonna sound as good as you play.
Ok
Alright
What is with people that have zero experience with a product and zero professional achievements in the industry always giving gear advice? You don’t see metro boomin or Noah 40 bashing the mpc but here these bedroom RUclipsrs come dropping opinions based on what experience? A comment someone made on Reddit?
Wasn't a bash, just giving money advice. Sorry you took it that way. What have you done also? I would love to hear.
@@jae6220 With all that gear you should clearly have something to listen to. Please let me hear it.
@@The5ivekay my comment isn’t about me or my work. My comment is about you uploading opinions and giving bad advice with no experience behind your words to validate what your trying broadcast to people.
I can’t give surgical advice if I’m not a surgeon. I cant give advice about installing toilets if I’m not a plumber.
