I saw her in the late 80's at the San Joaquin county fair in Stockton. It was obvious to me she didn't care where she was or that this was such a low level venue. All that mattered was being able to play music to an audience. It was such a great show that I went back for the second set. She's a true performer.
Decent representation, but why the word “tragic?” I feel like you’re manipulating your followers, it’s dishonest and unnecessary. Don’t appreciate the bait.

A few years ago, I went to a concert in Auburn, WA with Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, and Heart. My BFF and I were anxious to see Heart again (my third time, her third, as well, but not the same shows), as well as Cheap Trick. Neither of us seemed too interested in Joan's set. We wound up eating crow. Her set was actually the best set of the entire show. Cheap Trick basically sucked, and Heart had some behind the scenes family issues that sent them into a 3-year hiatus so their set wasn't their best. Joan's set was clean, fluid, and ran like a well-oiled machine. It was amazing. I'd go see her again in a blackheart beat...

I saw her at Penn State around 1988-89? I was SO excited. She’s a great role model for women. Unfortunately, some idiot threw something at her face (I think a beer bottle). I never did get to see her again. But keep rocking Joan, you are awesome!
That might have been the concert that caused her to have the permanent bloodspot on her eye- though I've heard it was jewelry that hit her in the eye someone threw, she got injured, and left the stage.

Hate myself for loving you is a classic everyone relates to. Good on her for having the balls to do it all.
Joan Jett is awesome, independent and totally genuine.
You missed a few albums. Specifically Sinner. Where she covered the Sweet song "a.c.d.c" and killed it! Great video for the song too
I got to see the Runaway's in Tempe, AZ. at Dooley's! Ian Dury, Runaway's and Elvis Costello. Was a great time!
Tragic implies an ending of a sort. I'd say she's a survivor of extreme hard knocks, but, still performing, being true to herself, and, rocking it her way. Go Joan! 👏❤️
Joan Jett is pure rock & roll, through and through! No apologies!! I love it!!!
I love her! She paved the way for women guitar players like me! The best thing I ever did in my life!
Joan is definitely a legend , she is queen of rock and roll . She deserved to have more hits.
Wasn't Quatro was from Detroit? She interviewed Rick Wakeman once, her speaking voice was defiantly American.
Yes she is from Detroit; Other than Stumblin with Chris Norman she only had one top 40 hit in the U.S where instead she was huge in the U.K.
Yes she's America
I still have her on cassette tape!🔥
Pamela Shore Shexhad success in the U.K. rather than her homeland , she has lived in the U.K. for many Decades
Suzy gained far more popularity in the UK than she ever had here both in music, films and TV.
I am a old man thats tragic...I still love her music... Thanks, Young Lady
Good video most people wish they had that much dedication to their own goals, so excited to hear about her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where she belongs, thanks for the inspiration Joan
I loved the Runaways, they were one of my favorite bands. Joan Jett is really great.
Have you ever seen the movie foxes? It has cherri in it great movie
@Diana Moore that was such a great movie and a great book
@Diana Moore I never saw that one I will definitely have to check it out. Today I got my haircut and the hairdresser said I looked like Joan Jett LOL when I lived in England when I was 16 they used to call me Joan Jett
I'm glad she has prevailed and accomplished it her way. Best wishes Joan and keep on rocking...
Her cover of the Stones' Star Star is up there with the original. No arguments!
I loved her when I was a kid. She was amazing. Say what you will about the 80's, but some of the music was amazing.
All the music was great. I've been noticing they're using 80's tunes in children shows, my grandkids watch
The 80's was the best decade!!
I met her in 1982 , she was a true sweetheart !!!!!!!!!!!!!
You cannot speak about the "Women of Rock-N-Roll" without talking about Jett. She opened many doors for women playing RNR.
