I met him and he was actually a really chill dude. Gave me a hug or handshake, i can't remember now. He is so good in everything.
ssoooo besides being young.. like every other band in the 50's,60's,70's,80's,90's etcetera.. and falling in drugs like every other band in the...... you get the drift.
Sandy West deserved better. She loved music and loved being in that band. Watching her in Edgeplay talking about how much she loved the band and missed the girls is heartbreaking.
My mother jams them ever since I can remember
I like Dakota Fanning, and think her acting ability is incredibly impressive, but I felt like she was not quite right for the role of Cherie Currie, although I can't think of anyone who would have been. I am sure others feel differently.
Same, maybe Taylor momsen?
@@jessical6056 I will look her up.
I agree, I was really disappointed when I found out Dakota had been chosen for the role, she did not have Cherie's kind of ghostly, ethereal beauty. I thought she had a hard look in the movie and really didn't look much like her, made it hard for me to watch. It's true though, that it would be hard to find anyone who really looked like Cherie, she definitely has an unusual look.
@@jessical6056 Good suggestion, Taylor might have been good with her hair made the same color as Cherie's. I think she would have been a better choice than Dakota definitely
The biopic was great!
Thanks for letting me know about the parental alienation group... i never knew so many had been through the same thing i have.
Its very common unfortunately.
Just watched the Movie on netflix, I didnt know it was based on real events until i heard Joan jets name, I didnt even know she was in a band. Im here to get educated cause i love their music haha
What's the movie's name?
@Larger than life thanks
I'm glad someone thinks they were good. My brother had their first album. Started playing it and I walked out.
Wow . .. I remember when lita Ford put out her first solo album
Loved Lita Ford's book🤗
Why isn’t there anything about Joan Jett’s life? Did I miss a whole segment?
They have a separate video for joan jett
They don't think she played much of a part, minor background player.
Sandy West 🤘🏼r.i.p
Oh yeah, Fowley was an absolute creep. I have some stories from people who have worked with him in the past. He was a very strange man.
I got a record and sometimes I listen to it. Good luck to them.
Not 1 mention of Cherie being a World renowned chainsaw artist !!She is awesome I have seen some of her work on videos on this platform ! Cherie took care of an evil person who exploited teenage girls for monetary purposes he was also accused of physically abusing them !! It just proves Cherie’s heart was bigger then Fowley’s Ego at the end !! I think for sure Cherie’s voice hasn’t changed a bit since the Runaway days !! I love this group from the moment I heard them !!
Thanks. They were great.
How very sad with the stories of these women
Legendary band
I was like 10yo and I thought they were the coolest.
Joan was the real deal. She IS Rock and Roll.
Whereas Currie wanted to do a Tap dance routine in the middle of the concert.
Never heard of them..... or heard any song by them on the radio.
Have you lived under a rock? 😄
@@Mr.Greeeeeen lol
@Diana Moore cherry bomb?.. no not even once in my life. I'm 37
@Diana Moore ok cool I will :)
Obviously your oblivious to rock history. Research is key. But hey, now you know.
1:24 - Greatest Unacknowledged Tragedy: Fowley fired the Redhead with the Rickenbacker Bass, Michael Steele.
Michael (Known as 'Micki' back then, was their first lead singer)
JJ will not utter her name.
Steele is pictured @ 1:28 - 1:32.
yes, i remember Fowley firing Micki -- bc she was "too old"! -- however i did NOT know that about Joan -- very weird, imho
Nice job on the video 👍
Their manager could have helped them with their career simply by treating them the way he himself wanted to be treated, it's not
Brainsurgery or rocketscience!!
The first time I saw Dakota Fanning as a teenager was when she played Cheri Curry and I was in love with both of them.
No helicopter parenting. It's a generalization and I'm sure there were exceptions but it just seems they were more laid back in their parenting back in the day. Where were their parents when these 15 year old girls were running around with the likes of Foley?!
Exactly. All were troubled and vulnerable teens. Fowley was waiting.
Probably doing drugs.
If the Go Go’s can go into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame there’s no reason The Runaways should not be in.
Totally agree. Everyone acts like they're the biggest all girl band. I'll take The Runaways everytime
The power of forgiveness is great!!
Why the fuk didnt the manager get arrested for child exploitation and child abuse. Disgusting
Wow. I learned a lot. I didn't know that ALL of these girls were runaways.
