Nice work and thanks for taking the time to document and share your goals with us. I just went through this whole ordeal and a lot of these tire shops a lot of technical nonsense without fully knowing or understanding what’s being done. I installed a 2 inch RC leveling kit with a set of 305/65R18 and there’s plenty of room.
Dude, you're a legend! The tire and aftermarket folks are not wrong though. They base their advice or regular F150s, which indeed do not clear even a 33" tire. The key deciding factor is the FX4 Package, which is different than the 4x4 Package. The FX4 gives you different shocks and more ground clearance, and in my case in addition to that if you have the MaxTow Package, thicker springs in the back. You've just saved me $$$ 😎👍
Thanks I’ve been looking days to find a answer. I have max tow fix, with 275/55r20. I want to go to a 60 tire. Some shops say no, then others say yes. Thank you for showing proof
Very much appreciate the example! I just got a 2024 STX FX4 and ordered 285/70r18 Toyo Open Country AT/III's. Since I pulled the trigger, I've been second guessing my decision on whether I should've just settled for the 275/70's. Seeing yours, though, I think it'll probably be okay, particularly because I got Eibach Pro Truck struts and shocks and plan to life the front 1.6".
That works nice!! Good job. On my 2018 Super Crew 4x4 SPORT 2.7L I fit 315/70/17 BFG K02's on factory Raptor rims with just a 1.5" strut spacer. You could use Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75" for the same result with no strut spacer. Cheers.
It fits because you used your stock wheels which are 44 offset. As long as you stay near positive 44 maybe down to 30 they should fit. I replaced my wheels with 18 offset using same size tires as you and it rubs crash bar. Its ònly when wheels is completely turned either way. Not sure what if anything I'm going do but I'm sure happy with the look lol.
Thanks for the video. Do you notice any more or less harshness on bumps/potholes? Im thinking more sidewall would be more cushy over bumps but not sure...
Gregory Kalt how bad was the rub and what kind of tires? I have a stock 2018 FX4 and was wanting to go with 275/65r20 in the BFG All Terrain K02. I wonder if certain tread patterns rub more than others.
Thanks for the info. Looks good too. I was thinking about 285/65r20's stock set up, I think the 285's might rub now that I see your video. Has anyone done this dimension with a stock FX4 setup?
I Just got a 2018 STX 4wd. The tires on it are new. By the time I wear them out, I will have a set of 275/65R20 KO2's. This means I will not have to modify my suspension. I drove my last truck for 15 years. I think part of the reason it lasted so long is I didn't modify important stuff like suspension parts or the engine. Anyway, nice ride. While I'm here, were you able to fit a 34 inch tire in the spare tire well?

Hell Yeah! that's what I'm talking about. I am going to try it - by the end of Oct. Great Job. Looks great.

Fx4 does not change ride height. It’s literally shocks and skid plates. Springs are the exact same.

My 22 f150 came with this setup. It works! Looks great with a 1.5" spacer. Pokes out just right and looks hard as hell
Thank you!

Just did the same to my 16 KR, very pleased..
Looks perfect,I just got some now to figure out which fuel wheel to get!! Thanks for the video!!
I’m leaning Blitz. What did u end up with?
Very nice ! Beautiful truck too. I’m a new subscriber. 👍🏻
with a 2 inch level lift, i put 35" on mine with no rub

How was ride quality or stiffness of the ride when going from stock to 34s? Any difference?
Thanks for the video. Do you notice any more or less harshness on bumps/potholes? Im thinking more sidewall would be more cushy over bumps but not sure...
I didnt notice any change to my ride quality. Only thing that really changed was the speedometer was about 2mph slower when going faster than 60mph.
And the tire tread is wearing evenly. I haven't had to make any adjustments to the alignment
I put 275/65/20 on 2018 f150 xlt 2wd rubbed a little , put 2.5 level on the front end, nice cushy ride, looks great

@@gregorykalt1715 can I put 275 65 20 on 2018 ford f150 with only 1.5 inch leveling kit installed.

Pretty sure you'll rub at the front without a levelling kit if you go 285
You ever tow with the bigger tires? Any issues? I might make the swap this weekend...
No issues towing.
How has that size been working out for you? Any regrets? Or random rubbing
I've been happy with the look. No rubbing issues. Helps make a better decision when I level it. I'm shooting for 36s on a level.

I never tried to put a spare... but that's a good idea. Good thing I haven't had a flat yet
You don't need the same size tire for your spare. Save your money for cool things. Morimoto makes some bad ass lights for our truck.
Have you had any issues with the travel in your suspension causing rubbing?
No. No rubbing at all. This tire size seems to be a perfect fit for my F150.
What’s the exact model of that BF good rich tires I know it’s not the Ko2 it’s something else
How wide were the tires?
Thank u for the video, did u feel of any higher after ?
Not much a difference in height. Just looks a lot better, more than anything.
tubeabq thank you .
This is about a year ago. Can you tell us if they ever rubbed? Thinking of doing the same but stuck between 275 60 and 275 65 20
I never had an issue with rubbing. 275 65r20 looks good but I'm sure 275 60 will look good too, just in case you're worried your truck will rub.
@@tubeabq what about gas mileage ? Did it stay the same or decreased a lot?
@@diverbelow27 I didn't see a difference. Still get about 400 miles per tank. I have the 5.0
@@tubeabq thanks ! I am gonna go with 275 65 as well... Looks way better than 55
Hi. These are the stock rims?
Yes
2wd??
Will it still work on 10" wheels wit no level?
I would say so. Depending how much poke (offset) your wheels have.
Do fx4 trucks sit higher when stock then a non fx4?
From what I noticed when I purchased the truck, no. That was one of the things I looked for when I was test driving different F150s.
@@tubeabq ok thanks
Would this work on the 2019 model? I have the 275 55 r20 and they look small
Yes...same truck. Especially if you have the 4X4
Is your truck 4x4
Yes
