It's nuts to think that Sephiroth was actually a really down to earth person and was genuinely a good guy then got driven to madness by all the lies and betrayals that took place for him to realize who he really was...
I feel bad for him though Shinra was just using him for money and power he also doesn't know that Jenova is not really his mother his real mother is Lucrecia
@@SamuelJohnsonYT plus that he also doesn't know that Jenova was never a Cetra either. Imagine the breakdown he'll get when he gets to the real truth IF SE consideres turning the storywriting for the upcoming game(s) that way.
I was just thinking about it, and I don't actually think Sephiroth was himself after the events of Nibelheim, literally. I think that the revelation of the Nibelheim reactor experiments shattered his mind, allowing Jenova to "overshadow" him. After he was killed by Cloud, Jenova kept using the image of the world's most famous "hero" which, coincidentally, was also convenient for controlling the actions of Jenova's only host that could get the black Materia to the Northern Crater. TLDR: I don't think Sephiroth actually turned evil, as much as Jenova was able to gain control of him and use him first as a vessel, to escape containment, and later as an image to control Cloud's actions. Sephiroth, the world's Hero, was as much a victim as every other poor soul in Nibelheim, by my estimation.
First his parents agreed to turn him into a test subject. Then his father experimented on him. Then Jenova turned his pain against him. He was lied to by everyone. And he still doesn't know his real mother is Lucretia. And I don't think you can really consider his friends "friends". But some people still don't understand why he lost his mind? 🙄
Yeah, that's the really sad part. His parents made him a test subject before he was even born. His mother felt guilty afterwards and decided to run away and hide in a cave. His father is a complete sociopath who only saw him as a test subject. Gast also ran away once he found out what JENOVA really was. And then Angeal and Genesis...they were his only friends until they suddenly left him without telling him why. Genesis is the worst friend. He was willing to physically and emotionally hurt Angeal and Sephiroth for his selfish gain. As a result, Angeal kills himself out of guilt. Sephiroth becomes insane. The people who are the most guilty are his father Hojo, Shinra Inc as a whole, Genesis, and JENOVA.
I think the Reunion Theory drove him mad more than anything, although yes he was upset, I doubt he would have massacred everyone in his normal honourable state. It helps that he is the strongest SOLDIER by far, making his reunion activation far more dangerous.

I came back after the new Ever Crisis autumn event and omg, I think that scene where Sephiroth starts clutching his head and stumbling has a reason now…
I think the reason genesis abandoned shinra was also because he found out shinra was using not only soldier but the infantrymen as teat subjects as well as everything else that happened he probably told angeal as well which is why he asked him "can you really live on that side"
Genesis went digging and discovered Project G after he started degrading. Genesis was the first one of the friends to uncover Shinra's evil experiments and learned the truth that him and Angeal were monsters. Genesis wasn't the villain that everyone thinks he is and his only beef was with Shinra
Imagine SEPHIROTH IN THAT BIG PAUSE BEFORE HE TURNS AROUND AND ATTACK ZACK. HE PLANNED TO BECOME EVIL AND DIE. Sephiroth was actually tired of all the pain and plans to train Zack to kill him to end his suffering but he still not worthy enough yet accidentally found Cloud, who is much worthy because he wounded Sephiroth. Cloud is still a kid and unpolish, so Sephiroth thought of being a psycho to provoke Cloud and drive him as a Hero. Remember, Sephiroth said I'm going to do something crazy like my mother did, cloud asked what about his planet Sepiroth replied, its up to you Cloud.

Cero rating's in Japan. They explained as Graphics get more realistic, they get more realistic, things get more strict, so they couldn't show Sephiroth carrying Jenova's severed head. For example, the blood trail in Remake. >Hamaguchi: We also really wanted to leave the blood trail that was left behind by Jenova, but in order to keep a lower age rating we couldn't use red blood. Instead we chose to use a purple magma-like substance that has more of a fantasy feel yet still leaves that feeling of unease. We worked really hard and ended up getting that checked about 5 or 6 times before we got the okay. There were a lot of times we had to think about the current day ratings while figuring out how to adapt elements of the original. >Toriyama: Something more difficult for the rating check was actually Jenova. We all thought “Well she's not human so it should be fine, right?”, but the fact that she was both naked and headless ended up being a bit of an issue. To rectify this, we added a mecha-type thing to her head and made it so she was covered up when Sephiroth was carrying her in the Shinra Building. Jenova is a pretty big part of Final Fantasy VII so I didn't actually want to change it, though...
This is a part of Hojo’s plan. He made Sephiroth to believe his mother is Janova, then when he knew janova is a monster and he will believe he is a monster, too Sephiroth will be crazy, If he reunion in janova That can confirm his theory. But he discover Sephiroth control janova and want to spoil planet, hojo decides to help him to wake up omega and fuel it to become God
Me too but I feel Tyler Hoechlin is much better here than he was in FF7 Remake. He sounded like he was trying to force a Newbern impression last time, while here he's doing his own thing and it sounds more natural.
@Orcaluv26 I very much disagree. Tyler Hoechlin just sounds generic. George did a pretty awesome job of balancing that heroic side of sepiroth in theog crisis core
I've always hated how likable Sephiroth was in Crisis Core. Like, he clearly cared about the people around him, he was borderline friends with Zack, why would learning about his "heritage" completely nullify all that? It's not so much that it's tragic, I would go as far as calling it bad writing. He locks himself up for a few days and comes out a complete psychopath? *sigh* I can only hope that we see some of his personality return in Rebirth. Like I'm not talking good Sephiroth, just acknowledging his existance prior to insanity.
After going through Crisis Core, I came to view the discovery of the "Heritage" to more or less be the straw that broke the camels back. His childhood friends had become his enemies, which for Sephiroth stung hard given he was effectively otherwise alone. Sure, he and Zack had a friendship but it was not quite as deep as his relationship with Angeal and Genesis had been. Add to the fact that he'd discovered some pretty heavy shit Shinra had been involved in that already shook his faith in them, to the point he considered leaving SOLDIER he was already kind of running himself down mentally at that point. Then, that revelation came. He wasn't a person, just a product of yet another Shinra lie. No wonder the guy had a complete mental breakdown and turned evil after that. Jenova awakening probably didn't help either.
@@joshrobins130 Yeah but that's kind of what I'm saying. There was a fleshed out character there with emotions and feelings that could be hurt. His story was believable up to this point and if he'd gone on to insanity *based on these issues* at least in part, I wouldn't complain. But post Nibelheim Sephiroth does not act on revenge or betrayal, no mention of his friends or whoever were his stand-in parents, he doesn't even have any anger left for Shinra, he's bland evil for the sake of it, almost as if he was simply replaced by Jenova herself. And I suppose that was okay seeing as CC was a later addition to the story but now they're doubling down on it in Remake in a game they literally changed everything else they felt like.
@@delikatessbruhe9843 I don't remember where, but I read the theory that the Sephiroth post-Nibelheim is not the original one, but a puppet of Jenova. Nevertheless, I also think that is bad writing how Sephiroth destroyed Nibelheim, instead of go after Shinra, Soldier and Hojo (the ones to blame in this story)
So in FF7 rebirth is cloud living out zack's story? But he's also not. I'm quite confused. But i really hope they somehow bring genesis and angeal back too in the 3rd ff7
Most likely couldn't be bothered to detail a one off part given that the headless version was reused from the remake to cut corners, then again said remake seems to be going in its own direction so they most likely didn't want to reveal a major part in Act 2. Like for instance Jenova is now suppose to have a more grotesque appearance like with the boss fight in the first one or the humanoid part is actually an Ancient and that blob alien thing is the cause of everything. That or the devs went "the crunch is real so slap some premade assets together put Jenova on it and call it a day".
I cannot believe someone like sephiroth go mad with reason like jenova of rule the word must happen something to him his face more normal before mindful not after like someone else
They can make an MMORPG where I can fly and fight like this. With FF7 battlesystem, . Without autolock and autotarget. With alot of classes . And weapons. Play as heroes.XD
The voice acting is kinda off, I don't know the original version sounds better to me. I think I prefer the old psp version of the game, not a fan of the new graphics either in some parts.
It all comes from the mako poisoning that Cloud got. His memories got replaced with the Zack ones. He thinks he was a Soldier, but he never got into it, he was just an infantryman, but he thinks so because of all the memories replacement. That’s why Tifa tells Aerith that she doesn’t remember Cloud that day in Nibelheim, because they didn’t saw each other, she actually saw Zack, but Cloud genuinely thinks it was him. Cloud is actually telling Zack’s history in Soldier throughout the game… Yes, he was in Nibelheim that day, but not in a Soldier way.
Does it bother evryone else that Sephiroth lets cloud throw him into the lifestream at Nibleheim instead of simply letting go of his sword? the physics of that doesnt make any kind of sense either. Once i thought about this, it is all i can think about during that scene and it sucks.
Watch this part 44:06 Learning the horrible truth about himself broke him. He didn't have any friends growing up and always felt isolated. And then upon learning that he *is* different, he couldn't take it.

It also gives the nibelheim incident, and many of his evil deeds since have more impact because of the knowledge of what he was like before he went crazy. My opinion.
you should revisit the game (original FFVII)
Cloud was using some Solid Snake stealth there on Sephiroth.
the way Zack said "AND WHAT" almost made me spit tea all over my screen
The one at the start of the video is actually Cyberoth.
And just think: *everything that has happened from Crisis Core onwards is because of Genesis's absolutely absurd JERKISHNESS.*
No wonder Genesis is such a bad villain character addition to the FFVII lore and universe.
So true!if genesis was sephiroths side seriously NOTHING would happen to sephiroth.he would be a good guy.and nothing would happen to clouds party and the world
Hojo is a joke to you?
@@whereisezraa5825 Well, don't get me wrong; Hojo was responsible for a LOT of what went down in FF7. But if Genesis did not push Sephiroth right then and there as he was in the midst of a severe identity crisis, he (probably) wouldn't have snapped and begun his quest to conquer the world.
Isn't it coincidental that Professor Hojo came to Nibelheim to experiment on the survivors after sephiroth's insanity? Hojo might have partially planned the nibelheim mission.

Sephiroth: "Who tf put super glue on my blade?!"
A total remade is what they should have done, and making playable with a party angeal and sepiroth while he was still sane
We might get to play as sephiroth in rebirth but I agree we should have got to play as Angeal.
2:17 confused Zack is so cute :(
fr 😭
Oh wow, it's sephiroth before the first game, I'm sure he's not gonna be a huge threat later on
I so glad Crisis Core is my first final fantasy, Imagine never play original but play this first and didn't know what going to happen, I can tell you it a good feeling when you don't know, Especially after credit "To be Continue in Final Fantasy VII" I got little confuse cause I thought this is final fantasy vii and 5 years later i realized there is ff7 before crisis core and I remember my reaction goes "ohhhhh so Crisis Core is not first game?" And then 8 years later in 2015, I remember excited for 5 years about finally going to play Cloud story after crisis core, and I still haven't play Original ff7 😂 After playing Intergrade and Reunion, So excited for Rebirth
I really proud Crisis Core is my first :)
Wow,🤯
Lol this sounds like itachi
I really appreciate content like this!!! Thank you 🙏🏾
wtf... they missed the whole point about this scene! Zack says "what is this?" because he assumed someone was standing right behind him but... he turned around and see how far sepiroth is standing and then he realized how long his sword is.
I liked this scene.. in THE ORIGINAL PSP!
Super duper modern simulation technologies and Angile's old phone can't be put together in my mind...
Why? There's a resurgence of flip phones among gen z as we speak
@@jinyboi it reminds me my mom's old phone... I can't get that image out of my head... And an old computer at Shinra's building.
Yesss! All hail lord Sephiroth 🖤
sephiroth always great i cant found aney one comper to him he the best that why i love ff all cos of him !!!! he is greates The character of others is never compared to him, Cloud or Zack, no one can defeat him only by lying, and because they are the fake heroes of the story, they will win, but in reality, sephiroth is the best character ever
Tyler almost sounds like John Chacon who voices Gabriel Logan from the PS1 era game Syphon Filter in certain parts
Finally some good content 🤌
Man those g clones might just pop up in the ff7 remake
damn the way cloud fell down the stairs....epic.
It was dramatic and funny like he just wanted to fall next to zack lol
It always angered me how Zack blatantly disrespected Sephiroth. Saying 'Youre not the only hero' and 'you all spoil him too much'. Made me instantly disilike him when CC came out. Not gonna lie.....
Sephiroth, he used to be a good and trustworthy person.
Would of taken out the the original cutscenes and added more in game footage angled to look like those cut scenes with the updates costumes. Square could of done this for consistency.
Pre crazy sephiroth: kind big brother
Kingdom Hearts sephiroth: dark souls boss fight.
So in a way he was a big brother to everyone by training us for dark souls in kingdom hearts 1

he was much better when he was sane.
Aaaw man, why they cover Jenova's face??? It was so iconic!
Damn Hojo He did deceive his own Biological Son...
This is a part of Hojo’s plan.
He made Sephiroth to believe his mother is Janova, then when he knew janova is a monster and he will believe he is a monster, too
Sephiroth will be crazy,
If he reunion in janova
That can confirm his theory.
But he discover Sephiroth control janova and want to spoil planet, hojo decides to help him to wake up omega and fuel it to become God
I miss the original voice actors......
Go play the original then
“AND WHAAAAAAAAATTTTT” 🤬🤬🤬⁉️⁉️📱
I don't understand how getting stabbed by the Buster Sword didn't immediately split him in half.
Again great video
You forgot the one cutscene where Zach and sephiroth find genesis copies. Where's angel
Your adaptability is remarkable.❤
its cause cloud had that pre-emptive strike materia on during the nibelheim incident
unpopular opinion: i like the original Jenova design better
They really gutted Controlling the Iron Beast theme, it's so toned down compared to the PSP version.
56:45 They should put easy mode difficulty. You know for noobs and/or players would prefer focusing on the story.
It's very easy on normal, if you can spam Hell Firaga :D
@@Fr34k1ng0ut Also, I wanted this game to have multiplayer firefight survival similar like in the Halo games.
@user-lt7by2qt3l That’s why it’ll be similar like Halo.

I miss George newbern.
Totally
same
Me too but I feel Tyler Hoechlin is much better here than he was in FF7 Remake.
54:44 Mari Tanabe of the Square Enix ethics department is a soulless vandal
Disappointed they didn’t show him hack two people
He was such a sweetheart... Before you know... The horrors.
16:50. The one time we see some cockiness to him…among his closest friends.
Still need to kill Sephiroth though.
I kinda have a different idea, I think it's pretty clear that Jenova brainwashed him the similar way Cloud was.
I was like why was sep standing like that and I know it was only a a.I. bot😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
Was Genesis's voice actor changed? He sounds different in the fight against Sephiroth
Everyone is different its the remake cast

sephiroth had every right to turn into a villain especially what shinra did to him

so cloud is not the first soldier i see.Did prof hojo merge cloud and zack memory then in ff7 remake?
So in FF7 rebirth is cloud living out zack's story? But he's also not. I'm quite confused. But i really hope they somehow bring genesis and angeal back too in the 3rd ff7
wtf happened to jenovas head tho??
He lost it
@@ForzaDelDestino I meant why is it in some weird metal helmet that covers her face
it wasn't before
Probably updated for the "modern" audience.
Censorship for the modern audience
I want him so bad
I cannot believe someone like sephiroth go mad with reason like jenova of rule the word must happen something to him his face more normal before mindful not after like someone else
1:02:37 😂
“No!”
They can make an MMORPG where I can fly and fight like this. With FF7 battlesystem, . Without autolock and autotarget. With alot of classes . And weapons. Play as heroes.XD
What's the difference between Zack clothes and Zack uniform 1st class 👁️👄👁️❓
1st Class Uniform is darker, closer to dark brown/black.
His previous clothes are pretty much the 2nd Class Uniform, so more akin to blue.
The voice acting is kinda off, I don't know the original version sounds better to me. I think I prefer the old psp version of the game, not a fan of the new graphics either in some parts.
Ya the Va is definitely off
I'm sorry I don't understand, I mean in the game ff7 rebirth zack wasn't there but only cloud. Did they memories get modified ? By who ? Hojo ?
It all comes from the mako poisoning that Cloud got. His memories got replaced with the Zack ones. He thinks he was a Soldier, but he never got into it, he was just an infantryman, but he thinks so because of all the memories replacement. That’s why Tifa tells Aerith that she doesn’t remember Cloud that day in Nibelheim, because they didn’t saw each other, she actually saw Zack, but Cloud genuinely thinks it was him. Cloud is actually telling Zack’s history in Soldier throughout the game…
Yes, he was in Nibelheim that day, but not in a Soldier way.
@@erifromlucis thanks
Does it bother evryone else that Sephiroth lets cloud throw him into the lifestream at Nibleheim instead of simply letting go of his sword? the physics of that doesnt make any kind of sense either. Once i thought about this, it is all i can think about during that scene and it sucks.

I really dislike the change to Jenova.
Why did sephiroth turn evil exactly? Can anyone plz explain? I just wanna spoil it for myself

Learning the horrible truth about himself broke him. He didn't have any friends growing up and always felt isolated. And then upon learning that he *is* different, he couldn't take it.
Honestly, I’ve never understood it either. It didn’t seem like a good enough reason for him to do what he did.
