Subscribed after watching your channel trailer. AMAZING stuff! I could binge watch your whole channel! I love long videos of retro/Japanese games with commentary so much. You also kinda sound like Mark from CGR lol
Hey @Kidshoryuken Thanks to your videos, I was able to check these spots out 2 weeks ago when I was in Akiba for quite some time. That HEY game center has some pretty good shumps there.
Awesome! Glad I could help. I personally can spend hours and hours on HEY's second floor, all those shooters and beat 'em ups just can't be beat. Also, nice choice with Sengoku Basara and Fighting Climax, great games.
Catching up on your older videos man.. Thinking about supporting you on Patreon, Do you have a sample image of The Kid's Club Box? Curios about it's contents. Cheers from South of Spain!
Oh man I could really pad my 360 collection from this store, then again I probably couldn't afford a ticket back to the states if I went. 😂 Great video keep em coming. 👍🏻
I found this store to be more reasonable than some of the other stores in Aki. But you're spot on about Megadrive games they're so expensive. I went to Japan with a view to get a good few good games but had to settle for not 4 games for the system, Tatsujin, Strider, Magical Flying Hat Adventure and Castle of Illusion. None of them being rare but all great games. In fact I bought Tatsujin and Strider from this very store :)
I know this video is old and I’m still commenting a couple years later but I just have to say that I love Dreamcast labels in japan, the orange spine Why couldn’t ours have been orange???
Damn Weebs and scalpers ruined it for us. Whenever I going to visit Japan it's going to be a possible to find games in a decent price. But I hope it doesn't.
I really wish game shops were more of an integral part in shopping areas over here. It's mostly toy stores that have game sections and in a lesser degree game stores in bigger cities and such.Nowhere near the capacity of what you see in your videos though. It's like transcending to another dimension lol.
We used to have a lot more gaming stores in the U.S. before Gamestop absorbed everything in its path and fucked the whole thing up. Babbages, Funcoland, EB Games, and mom & pop shops.
Hi, thanks for your videos! I am traveling in November to japan finally, and i searched for the arcades and found the big ones like jpolis ect. Are there any acrade that are not well know that you would recommend as an must see?
I noticed that all the Neptunia games and Trails of Cold Steel (Sen no Kiseki) was on the 2nd floor. My question; why do they have both the Japanese (1st floor) and the English (2nd floor) copies in stock?
Good vid. Subbed. I love that u show everything so slow and u dont rush through it. Also can u tell me what are the prices of these games. For ex. GBA game?
nitro plus blasters is indeed a good fun fighter. lol the weep case id say that is a good description for a glass case in game stores. also i did not see a whole lot of PS1 games or maybe it was just me.
Expensive. I was able to pick up a CIB PC Engine Core Grafx for 13000yen in Osaka. I'd say that you be paying in excess of 20000yen for a for a Duo, more if it's boxed :(
Yeah, I didn't really expect them to carry that product, I was not exactly sure of its popularity. Then again, would have I bought it used? 10K kind of bought me some piece of mind too.
too bad it turned into a tourist trap over the years. all the retro shops are crawling with tourists and have shitty prices. Mandarake in Namba this March - 98k yen for a Neo Geo King of Fighters 2003...
Yeah, it's gotten pretty bad. I'd say at least 60% of the people I see in the more popular shops are tourists, sometimes more. I actually just helped a guy out a couple of days ago who was looking for Saturn and Dreamcast games.
God I love this series. The music is fucking great too by the way. A privilege to see all this by the way. Thank you.
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying my vids. I've got plenty more on the way.
Love watching your game shops videos Jim. Truly makes me want to just go to Japan to see them all.
Thank you as always bro.
Anthony...
No problem, thanks for always watching, Anthony.
KidShoryuken
Always a pleasure Jim!

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos, I've got plenty more in the works.
Also, you're not the first person to say I sound like Mark. :)
Excellent video as always!
Thank you!
The Vita is truly amazing dude, do yourself a favor and pick one up
awesome as always!
Thank you!
Hey @Kidshoryuken Thanks to your videos, I was able to check these spots out 2 weeks ago when I was in Akiba for quite some time. That HEY game center has some pretty good shumps there.
I also bought 2 PS4 games from Trader which was Sengoku Basara and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.
Awesome! Glad I could help. I personally can spend hours and hours on HEY's second floor, all those shooters and beat 'em ups just can't be beat. Also, nice choice with Sengoku Basara and Fighting Climax, great games.
Awesome store!
your videos are awesome i was wondering have you seen any mvs carts out there in the wild ?

Yeah, plenty of cool Japan exclusive 360 games, especially in the shooter department.
Plenty more vids on the way. :)

Yeah, Trader is typically a bit better on prices than say Super Potato, but those MD games just aren't getting any cheaper. It's a real shame.
I know this video is old and I’m still commenting a couple years later but I just have to say that I love Dreamcast labels in japan, the orange spine
Why couldn’t ours have been orange???
Can you tell us the price on everything starting with yen to us currency thanks love the vids
do they have NA consoles?
More ! More!
Wish I could have gone years ago when everything was still cheap before tourists really upped the prices :)
Damn Weebs and scalpers ruined it for us. Whenever I going to visit Japan it's going to be a possible to find games in a decent price. But I hope it doesn't.
Awesome!
Thanks, and thank you for all the comments you've left recently. It always makes me happy when someone takes an interest in my videos.

Dedicated game shops should be a part of any good shopping center.
We used to have a lot more gaming stores in the U.S. before Gamestop absorbed everything in its path and fucked the whole thing up. Babbages, Funcoland, EB Games, and mom & pop shops.

If you can, I'd suggest going to an arcade in Kawasaki called The Warehouse, it's a Kowloon walled city themed arcade and it's pretty damn cool.
I noticed that all the Neptunia games and Trails of Cold Steel (Sen no Kiseki) was on the 2nd floor. My question; why do they have both the Japanese (1st floor) and the English (2nd floor) copies in stock?
That's a very good question, I have no idea. It is a second hand shop mostly, so maybe somebody traded in the English copies.
Good vid. Subbed. I love that u show everything so slow and u dont rush through it. Also can u tell me what are the prices of these games. For ex. GBA game?
Thanks! I do my best. :)
The prices vary but are comparable to online usually, or at least in dedicated game shops like this.
cool video
do we also get the plastic case if we buy them ?
Nope, afraid not.
Nice shop! Also what is that outro song?
It's from Bullet Soul Infinite Burst.
how were the retro console prices compared to other game stores and hardoffs?
Not good compared to Hard Off, but typical for Akihabara.
nitro plus blasters is indeed a good fun fighter. lol the weep case id say that is a good description for a glass case in game stores. also i did not see a whole lot of PS1 games or maybe it was just me.
They had a nice little PS1 selection but it's sharing the shelf with Saturn, Dreamcast and PC Engine, so I guess it's a case of limited shelf space.
oh ok that makes sense there cases look vary close especially side by side
You scoop anything up Jim?
Not on this trip, been being a little more frugal these days.
shit man ... they had hissatsu on saturn.. I needed that one
There's always next trip.
we don't get any of these cool stuff in London 😫
That's a shame. Every gamer deserves a nice game shop to browse around in.
What the music in 0.56 ?
It's Guile's stage theme from Street Fighter: Real Battle on Film.
Thanks!
Awesome
Thanks Lou.
How much is a pc engine turbo duo in Japan?
Expensive. I was able to pick up a CIB PC Engine Core Grafx for 13000yen in Osaka. I'd say that you be paying in excess of 20000yen for a for a Duo, more if it's boxed :(
Yeah, you're looking at possibly $200 American.
I went to that shop AFTER having bought a framemeister brand new at yodobashi and they had like 3 used for sale.... Could have saved 10K, oh well...
Those are the brakes I guess. Always best to check those second hand shops first.
Yeah, I didn't really expect them to carry that product, I was not exactly sure of its popularity. Then again, would have I bought it used? 10K kind of bought me some piece of mind too.
Are these new or used?
Used.
Maybe the best
Possibly, especially when you consider the mix of modern and retro games.
The prices will inevitably rise at some point.
Which is exactly what they've been doing for years.
too bad it turned into a tourist trap over the years.

Japan is not for a gamer who doesn't speak Japanese.
