Tip from a trucker. All Loves have a microwave inside! Also get a loves loyalty card all your fuel and food purchases earn points and can be redeemed for a shower credit. Stay safe and enjoy your travels!❤

RICE COOKER 12 volt plugs into car is What you need . Cooks oatmeal.rice steams vegetables for fajitas or stir fry, slow cook while you drive use crock pot liners no mess or make foil packets for one pot meals no mess just like camping. An awesome meal in can wendy's chili when you don't want to cook ❤

Tip for your ice chest: Find a large plastic, waterproof container (a pitcher with a snap-tight lid works well) and put all the ice in there. When it melts you don’t end up with a soggy mess, and you can drink the ice water!
That's a Brilliant idea!
I live full time in my 2004 Toyota Highlander and I haven't used an ice chest because of the mess. I'm going to use your idea this week expecting it to be a Game Changer!

@@rickcooper156I also use cups of ice/water in put in the cooler.for example I go to McDonald's i get a cup of ice/water since I don't want it melt fast I put in the cooler than I buy beer and put it in the cooler the beer will stay cold for long periods of time
I use fabric ice bags. When the ice melts, I dump the water into a two gallon jug, or my enema bag (used for washing hair in the car with an inflatable wash basin). I tried using Nalgene bottles, but the ice melts faster and it is harder to fit things with rigid containers. As a bonus, when it is especially hot in the car, you can pull an ice bag out of the cooler to reduce your body temp.
@@giabarrone7422 that's a good idea I thought about soaking a towel in the ice water from the cooler to cool myself down night on hot summer days I don't wana take the time to dry it will prolly start smelling like a wet mop ect. I am gona give it try
I do the oposite put ice in cooler for drinks and plastic container inside with lid and keep the things i dont want to get wet in it 😊
I luv LOVE'S!!! They've been so awesome in accommodating overnight vehicles when so many other places won't. That means a lot and so, I'm all for supporting their business. ❤
I used to have a trucking business. Truckers use truck stops like their personal kitchen. Don’t be afraid to take your food in and put it in the microwave. I did it all the time and there was often a line to use the microwave.
Yep! I still microwave my food lol
He's so right! I live by a truck stop. It's my nearest convenience store, emergency shower, gas station and fast food. Truckers do act at home.
I thought about doing that but sometimes I would think they would accuse me of stealing for example u bring in ramen noodles and they sell ramen noodles they can easily blame you for stealing

It's Nikki's proselyte. I tried doing what you girls do and ended up sleeping in the trunk cause I didn't have those window shades and people were walking around. But I hope it works out and you save a lot of money. With that said, some tips I have will help. A scoop of peanut butter (protein) or a banana is a good easy breakfast plus banana's are cheap and always in season. No mess, cooking, or clean up just peel and go or toss the plastic spoon. If I'm eating out I like Subway and load up the veggies or Panera Bread with their bread bowl soup and apple. Eat fruit that is in season and only eat the pre cut if it's hard to prepare like pineapple or watermelon. The petite carrots are good for snacking or nuts. The Dollar Tree, Wal Mart, and Menards will cover all your needs and are the most economical shopping centers by far. I prefer throw away's for everything from spoons to plates. I'm more like you than your cousin and prefer space over stuff. Travel light with your basics always in stock. Maintain your car well because it's your biggest asset. Oil changes every 3k or 3 months and the 5 dollar wash at Shell's gas station is the best. Buy water by the gallon so it's always available. Hopefully, your channel grows because as I'm typing this there's a video being recommended of a guys reaction to a football game that already has 171k views in 2 days. Anyway, these tips will improve your margins for your job/expense ratio while you travel the summer. Good luck!

The worst part is though. Is somebody breaks your windows and steals all your stuff? This has happened multiple multiple times all over the place. And then you come back and you feel like your trip was not worth. Anything doesn't matter if you lock the windows or not or the car be careful. I've seen this happen a lot of times your laptop. All your stuff is gone
@@jasontomica8938That can happen anywhere, vehicle or sticks-&-bricks home due to the excessive amounts of illegals flooding in & the poor economy. 3M window tint is good at preventing window break-ins. Curt & Snow’s RUclips channel has a good video on 3M window tint & someone tried breaking their Mercedes Van’s window with a brick 🧱 while they were inside sleeping, it kept them safe!!!
So happy that you are creating your own content and adventures on the road. Ever since you first appeared on Nikki's videos I have been watching just to see when you would be on there again and watched every single one you were in and hoping that someday you would start your own channel. And here you are now, thank you and looking forward to your next video. Your smile is the best, no matter what mood I'm in seeing your smile always puts me in such a happier mood. If you get a National Park Pass you can stop at them all and head over to their showers. There’s also refrigerator coolers that you could run while the car is on or off one of the battery banks that charges while the car is on or from solar panels while you’re out doing hikes!

Miss B, it is great you are doing this as you will get to see the U.S. Remember to always be safe, please get yourself a small can of mace, it is good protection when you are hiking alone for either animals or not nice people. I hope this will start an adventure for you to do this for as long as you want. Watching you and Miss D brings happiness to all of us who are watching!

You should definitely invest in a Jackery so you have back up power in the car + you can use a kettle etc. I think having a kettle might become very helpful especially in the colder days. + air fryers are getting popular nowadays!
Definitely a Jackery/Bluetti and the Tmobile 5g home internet plugged into that is a game changer. Fast internet with no caps across the entire US for the cost of 2 day passes at a coworking space ($50).
Can you recommend a model? I’d like to be able to use a fridge/freezer, food heating device, and maybe a dehumidifier. There are so many options!

Welcome to Tennessee! Embrace everything as you journey; “not all who wander are lost,” after all. And heck yes, bag salads and hippie showers! Baby wipe baths are where it’s at between showers, lol! Don’t worry, your internal clock will get used to the different sleeping schedule as you go. One of my secrets is a little spoonful of honey before bed (it shuts up my hangy brain and tummy 😂).
Don't be afraid to ask a truck driver if you use a shower credit. Anytime we get over 50 gallons its a shower added to the rewards card

Loved this!! This reminds me so much of my time traveling the US in my suv. Best month ever. Tip for showering that is cheaper than Loves: call nearby KOA’s and ask if you can put money in the after hours box for a shower. They always just had me do $5!

Internet tip in smaller cities go check out a library, ask one of the helpers if they have a quiet room, that way you won't have to be bothered by a loud people or a bunch of kids. have fun on your travels 😊

Libraries are awesome for this! Also McDonald’s has fabulous internet, often accessible from the parking lot, but I have seen people set up a full office inside. Plus the are everywhere.
Shouldn't eat a big meal right before bed, as it will affect your sleep in a bad way.
And don't worry about just showering twice a week, because you had 3 baths in one day, so you are extremely clean.
You are so lucky to have weather nice enough to go swimming in lakes and rivers, I live quite north, and this summer has been horrendously chilly.
Meaning that the lakes have stayed chilly too.

Measuring cups are a good idea. Love's has microwaves. They sell Coleman electric coolers, so you don't have to buy ice. Plugs into your car. Plus they have other coming devices that plug in too. The one in thinking of that would help you looks like a thermos with a cord on it. It's white with a brown top. Put water in it, plug it in and in a couple of minutes you have hot water.

One day i will make my dream come true to travel the USA. I wanne visit a few big citys. But my main goal is West and the north of America to see some beautiful Mountains, Deserts and remote villages. But for now i stick with Austria 😅. God Bless the beautiful Country of America 🇺🇲🇺🇲

For oatmeal there is usually a fill line for water on the paper bag that has the oatmeal.
1) Rip oatmeal open bag
2) Pour oatmeal in eating cup
3) Pour hot water in oatmeal bag to fill line.
4) Dump hot water from oatmeal bag into eating cup
This was great. Just a thought, but since you have a newer channel/following, it might be cool to get more of a sense of _who_ you are, and your interiority (to borrow a literary term), in addition to the more journalistic vignettes of life on the road. What are you thinking about? How are you feeling about your experiences? Etc.

Im a big fan of camping meals like the ones you can get at Walmart or camping stores. Theyre all just add a cup hot water, reseal bag, eat out of bag, throw bag away. The biscuits and gravy are to die for.

When I was your age I was scared to go hiking alone ☹️ now that I’m in my 40s and I have my own kids I don’t mind doing this with my kids because we love to see different 50 states and I’m a homeschool mama and we love to travel and explore adventures. 😇👧🏻🧒🏻👩🏻❤️🤍💙
Enjoy your journey. Don’t know if your set on seeing certain things and places, but while traveling with my family we make it a habit to stop at the welcome center when you first enter each state and pick up a random flyer of interest and see a place we would not even have known about.
I love the pacing on this video - great job filming and editing and it’s clear that you know what you’re doing. I also camp out of a RAV4 so your setup is very relatable to me, although I usually just do 4 day trips. I’m looking forward to your future adventures. Safe travels!

Love the video im a retired truck driver since you go to Loves and other truck stops get you a Loves card collect points and it pays for showers, coffee and other stuff.

Cousin Sarah!!! So happy to see you've started your own adventure channel. Might I provide a suggestion for car camping... invest in a portable BlendJet so that you can make healthier smoothies. I love mine and it's so quick n easy to blend up with plant based milk, fruits and protien powder. I highly recommend Happy Viking meal replacement/protien powder. Stay safe out there kid!!
Love women out and about exploring nature! 🧡 If you haven’t tried them yet, prepackaged hiking/camping dehydrated meals would be great for traveling. You can find them at your local Walmart or sporting store.
Also keep an eye out for Flying j’s.
Another truck stop .
Also has a salad bar and soups and chilis . Microwaves and showers .
Also TA’s usually have a diner as well as microwave etc .

for security get a whistle or a loud alarm. make sure the sun roof is not too wide open when u sleep. much respect from tanzania.

I travel and work from our RV on a regular basis, so I can relate to the challenge of finding good internet on the road. Something I've learned is that every city, and nearly every small town will have a local library with a good internet connection. In addition to internet, they are quiet, safe, clean, and often will have a meeting room that you can book if you need one. Best of all, they're free! Safe travels! I look forward to seeing more updates.

that hike was gorgeous - thanks for the vid. Last minute slightly squished sandwiches are an underrated trail meal (though mine are usually bologna and cheese...) If you ever make it out to Washington State, drive up to Sunrise on Mt Rainier and walk up to the Fremont fire tower.

Great inaugural vid! Production and editing were perfect! I should know since I’ve done production vids for several big name RUclipsrs. I have a genetic sleep disorder and never know when I’ll be awake, so have always turned down offers to handle their channels. But I help out when I can. A pro tip though… a polished vid like this a week is awesome. But it takes a lot of work. People just want to see you though. So do your weekly download, but just go livestream as often as you can. Hey Sarah they have usb rechargeable little fans at Walmart and target for around 12-14 dollars. They can help you stay cool. Glad to see you make this step so you can see this beautiful country. 😊
10:28 I just came out of Walmart shopping for some items and bought 2 of these fans!!! It is keeping me cool!!. I'm using batteries for now . Each fan takes 4 AA batteries.

Try a library or college campus for strong wifi! Arguably better than Starbucks most the time
Amazing and for cooking you can use those mini gas stoves that are very practical

This is the life I wanted to be while working and traveling with hiking or other outdoor activities.
$18 for a shower?
You need a minivan with solar panels and a very compact RV dumpable toilet and an outdoor shower. Wouldn't it be cool to have a pump in the car that could be used to fill up your water tanks with lake or river water? Then again why not just use a lake or river as a shower? That shot of you sitting in the warm river....epic. That is a sensation not many of us have experienced as you well noted.
To carry a lot more stuff use a utility trailer with side access so you don't need to waste space inside with an aisle. Solar panels could be on the top as well or a luggage carrier for even more room.
Consider getting a wearable camera like a GoPro so it can capture a lot of footage as you go about your day and then you can do a voiceover after like you are doing here a lot which works so well. Most RUclipsrs don't get how effective this is. First the footage THEN the narration and explanation.

My boyfriend and i did the clear kayak. Definitely a great experience at the spring lake. Only con i didnt wear sunscreen (was told not to) got back to NY looking like a lobster. Next time ill wear lotion sunscreen. Definitely was the best experience while visiting Florida!
