Gotta do the same thing to my truck. But if the bed is coming off I'm gonna strip and recondition the frame while I'm at it. Plus rear diff fluid, muffler, back shocks, and bed supports. Gonna be a busy week!!!
i went to the ford dealer to replace twoo tank's straps and prefered to do the job by myself, happily i had to replace curved riveted part where the strap hang on
I can never understamd people that go through a bunch of work to fix something, and instead of doing it right the first time and spending a lil more money they cheap out. Replace the shitty bolts and the old pump. 🤦♂️
@@Anttiajt mine too MI lol doing it without a lift, but didn't have to remove the bed, but you had a hoist, but you still needed to get under it to remove the straps so the best way to do this IMO, remove the back driver's side wheel jack up the truck as high as you can, the tank can be lowered (for those that are doing this job) to 12" off the ground without removing the fuel lines. then you have enough room on the driver's side to reach under to disconnect everything. For those doing this job, make sure you don't bottom out your filler hose/clamp to the tank else you will not have enough hose to push over the filler tube. I noticed rust spots on the inside, which means fuel seepage was happening. After 12+ years I suggest replacing the tank and pump. I also suggest replacing the pressure sensor and the 2 vapor valves on the tank for the old ones will be brittle. Have fun people!

Should have put in a new fuel pump while you had the bed off, so you don't have to worry about it later.

My fuel tank is plastic in my 2001 f150....
Thanks, nice job. Wana do mine now?
Haha, no thanks!
I need a 1994 f 150 fuel pump
My 03 ford crew cabs gas tank is leaking......that is one thing you would think ford would make corrosion resistant...cheap bastids.
They charge a fortune for their trucks....then they rust out in a few yrs......big rip-off.
UAW strong😅
