I love the coupe' version of the Q5...for the longest time, Europe had sportback models but we didn't. Glad we're finally getting them! This car is gorgeous.
Great review as always. Do the new Audi’s with the 2.0 litre engines still suffer from burning of oil? I had a 2016 Audi Q5 where I had to keep topping up the oil between service intervals. It didn’t leak oil just burned more than usual.
great review as usual. only one big problem: making car reviews with a black background makes it difficult to see the car shape and proportions.... hard to watch honestly. i know its not yr fault but tell Audi to never do that again...
Great review but as a US Audi fan can you tell us why Audi refuses to keep the amber turn indicators on the back of their US models? They only have red "blinkers" here. And it sucks that we can't get more options on seating fabrics.

@@almac9203 That should go without saying. However, If you look at the timing of the uploads, one of the photos that Roadshow used was obviously from data released to various outlets. Autogefuhl had the opportunity, yes, to physically review what looks like exactly the car in the photo, but then had to spend some amount of time to edit video+copy and post while other outlets only had to edit their copy and post. I suppose it's possible that Audi restricted all outlets from posting until a specified time.

Always surprising review with car we are looking for but not expecting. Good job as always and this Q5 is absolutely awesome 👌. I would likw to see the ambient lighting too.
I like the looks, but in its segment of premium mid-size SUVs, the regular Q5 already has quite a raked rear screen. X3/X4 look quite different. GLC/Coupe look different. However the only real difference between this and the Q5 is the swooping line of the rear windows. The overall shape is much more similar, but they've changed some of the rear styling lines a bit. How they've also managed to lose nearly 10% of the boot space is beyond me.
Fantastic review from Thomas!!! This Q5 sportback is actually something I have been waiting for. BMW and Mercedes both have coupe version SUV, Audi got Q3 sportback and Q8, but just not the most common Q5 model. Finally! My current Q3 lease will end by December and I really wish this model could arrive to US earlier... I know most people think SUV coupe is not a good design, but I feel it looks pretty stylish and for this Q5 sportback we just make very little compromise on rear space. So why not... I guess people who find this design attractive, maybe have the same ideas with me. To be honest, I don't really need a SUV cause I just got married with no kids to worry about and 90% of usage just daily commute. But my wife and I really enjoy the higher vision on SUV compare to sedan and we still want the rear space that SUV provides just in case we go out for a trip or our family come to visit us (that's why my first car is a Q3 not A3/A4). Also this kind of design will make the car more unique/stand out on the street. So it all makes sense to me. However, I agree this usually not in good value. If you care most about car value, then this should never be on your list.
I'd prefer the 2020 model since the it's so much more luxury and bigger in front headlamp with thicker front grill than what audi did in the updated face left
@@Raven16691 Nope, every sportback is smaller than full version, so it should be a smaller number. They messed up with Q8 too, should've been Q6 since its a bit smaller than Q7, but they want it to appear higher at all cost.
Antonio Zamudio There is no problem at all, the only thing is if I would like to export it to another country it will not get Customs advantages like Cars produced in Europe like e.g. Mercedes GLC.
I noticed your phone had these yellow stickers covering its cameras. Why do they make you cover your phone cameras while filming this review when you're already bringing a professional camera and filming every detail of the car?
Not TOO bad. BUT, I prefer this Sportback look on the Q3 more. It's a bit too rounded off on the Q5, so it doesn't exactly look as sporty as the Q3 Sportback.
Global SUV mania as idea no matter how popular it is never came in life for me. I am more type of guy for coupe, compact hatch of MPV if it comes to space, but I like sportback crossover/SUV/whatever. I hope to see more cars like this which are modest in height.
Great look, but like first gen x4 will only live for 3~4 years. Audi is getting Q2, Q4 and Q8 same styles, then Q3 Sportback and Q5 Sportback same styles. Sportback is inspired by sports cars, but Q2 ~ Q8 are styled towards Range Rovers wagon like suv forms.
Personally, I like this version more then the regular model. The Sportback is always more masculine in my opinion. SUVs tend to look like a wife's kid-carrier/grocery-getter. Sportbacks gives dads a cool kid-hauler/honey task-trailer. Now, question is, is the Gorgeous German Gem coming to the States???😨😰😓. Audi; you ditched us on sooooo many cool cars. I sure hope you gotten over that (can't market in the U.S.) stigma, because we're ready, if you are! Let's Do This! And AWESOME review as always!!!💪🏾 ✌🏾❤✊🏾
i really like the interior quality of audi's but i think you may expect that as a customer for the price you pay for them. I think that other less luxurios car brands could also make this quality but customers just dont used to pay more for brands that make cheap cars as well.
Real matt-wood (open pore / waxed / non-shiny) over piano black in any car! Too bad they whitched to piano black insert surrounding the gear changer insted of none-facelifted matt black plastic, with a nice touch feel (as on the door panel surrounding the memory buttons, etc)
ditching the MMI wheels is stupid. also that central console storage is stupid. you have drink in the cupholders, and you wanna something from the storage console under the armrest.... you have to take the drinks out, open armrest, slide that inductive charging tray and then you can have access to the storage console.... audi, really? is that user friendly ergonomics?

I wish it came with the Q3's interior or even the more upgraded Q7 and Q8's interior. It is in a weird awkward stage like the A4 and A5.

I have the Q3 sportback .. absolutely love it and is head Turner for sure. Not many on the roads and it’s stunning.
Audi should make Q9 to compete with X7, GLS and Range Rover.

Nah not at all. Arteon has the numberplate on the bumper not boot. This looks nothing like an Arteon

Its probably easier for a German channel to get hold of German cars at launch. With Covid it might not be easy to fly over for a press launch.

The Q4 is going be electric and based on the id.4.
Q4 is already in production and will be released soon, full name is Q4 Etron as it's the little brother of the original etron.
Q6 you mean. Because Q4 should have been the Q3 Sportback
