lights on the rear bumper are not there in case to hatch lights fail, they are there so when you open the hatch cars can still see you

Nice review, thanks! One comment. The second set of taillights is not there in case the main set fails. When the tail lid is raised the main set of lights are no longer visible and regulations require the car still to be visible in the dark. That is why they are there. Correct?

Beautiful suv. Is the q5 sourced from the VW Tiguan? They’re killing the look of that gorgeous front grill with that god-awful plate. My only real con is the dash screen. I wish it was integrated and designed-in like the q3’s. Looks like an afterthought.

The Q3 and Tiguan share a platform, however the Q5 is its own platform and it shows. I agree, they should have integrated the screen, overall though it’s a very good car.

Does it come with Navigation?

The 2021 Q5 comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which in effect gives you navigate via your phone. If you’d like built in navigation you’d have to get a Premium Plus model

For some strange reason, the Q5 has a different pitched chime depending on if you have the virtual cockpit or not.

Yes, kinda strange. The chime must be a part of the gauge cluster and for whatever reason gets changed depending on if you have analog versus virtual gauges. Either way you will not be disappointed, it’s a pretty close to flawless midsize SUV.

Correct! No CD player unfortunately in the 21 Q5.
