His technical expertise is AMAZING! He has a fantastic way of explaining the technology, while not making it confusing for the average consumer. I love Chris’ passion for Mizuno products and he’s always a pleasure to see in these videos!!
It's always such a treat to listen to Chris talk about his products. He's probably the most articulate man in golf, period. Plus, he sounds like a guy you'd like to get to know. Too many reps are just salesmen that talk too fast, use too much company lingo trying to sound superior to bamboozle you into buying. Thank you, TXG, for developing such a relationship with Chris and, thus, Mizuno. Btw, I'm still playing my T-zoid Pro's and loving them!
Love it when Chris is on the channel....unbelievable knowledge about the products and brought with real enthusiasm . Such a great fit with Ian.....two pro’s on their own field talking about new product . For the love of the game❣️
Chris is the best manufacturer interview out there. He loves the products and it shows and he never feels like he's just reading the advert notes. Mizuno has the best looking irons out there, I want these and I'm not nearly good enough for them.
Steven Stewart That’s what I USED to think! You will be surprised how forgiving Mizunos are. I got my first set a few years ago (900 HM) they are,,,,,, UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Give em a try.... 👍
PaulieMo Gentlemen, thank you for including Chris and going deeper into the technical details. I used to make woods when I was in school, and now 30 years later would love to get back into club fitting. I have learned so much watching and listening to these great videos. Even my wife knows whom Ian & Matt are.
Fabulous. Such a treat and privilege to have Chris Voshall come to TXG and provide such great insight on the new Mizuno MP 20 irons. Can’t wait to see demo as well as try them. Well done TXG
I am generally a Titleist guy but Mizuno's rep was way more knowledgeable/ articulate than then Titleist was. He answered all Ian's questions with well-thought-out answers whereas Titleist was just a sales pitch.
Justin Baumann That's because Mizuno sends Chris (an engineer) out on the road instead of a marketing person. It speaks to their culture. They're not a good fit for every player but Porsches aren't for everyone, either. Their craftsmanship far exceeds other mass-market brands. My MP-64s have seen hundreds of rounds and other than a slew of micro-dings from bag/travel chatter, they look brand new. No face browning, no wear-out of the chrome finish, even the paint fill is still perfect. Top quality.
Make sure you go to an establishment like TXG because most fitting carts only have 7 irons to fit you in and you don't want to be like me stuck with a 4 and 5 iron that your not totally happy with .....
Benny Frank the 3rd Amen. I regret not going to them in high school because I would've improved much faster with better feedback. I went Ping -> TaylorMade -> Callaway -> Mizuno, and all my best rounds have been played with Mizunos in the bag. Your scores will be more volatile (bad days are worse) but when you're hitting it well, their accuracy is unbeatable and you will make a lot more birdies.
I re-watch videos with Chris over and over, and I don’t even play Mizunos. I’m fairly certain I’ve never even HIT a Mizuno iron (I intend to change that soon). But I love that Chris doesn’t speak like a media spokesman/salesman, he still speaks like an engineer and casually throws out phrases like “we didn’t just flip in in CAD...”. It makes him so much more relatable and really showcases his knowledge and comfort with the subject. It makes me really want to try Mizuno irons, reputation aside.
Love the insight from Chris lets hope more manufacturers are willing to step up and give us similar insights to the design process. I would love to see the MB20 and a Ben Hogan precision/Personal Blade next to each other they appear so similar, I guess Mr Hogan knew a thing or two about club design back in 1954.
I totally agree guys, a custom set of new mizunos should indeed be the 50k subscriber giveaway ;) great vid gents thanks Chris for taking the time to educate us!
It is always amazing that you can hear the excitement in Chris’ and Ian’s voice when they provide insights to what they do. Passion for the game. Love it!!! Now I have to explain to my wife why I need to get a new set of irons 😂
Thank you Chris Voshall and Mizuno for taking the time to once again come to TXG and speak with Ian. Really appreciate the content this channel shares, so Chris thanks for as well seeing the value of spending time with TXG. Now at first I assumed Matty was just off camera fuming on the side for being left out on a great product line release to test, but as Chris pointed out maybe just maybe Mizuno will join the Darkside,, time will tell. I also remembered that the boys were on outdoor road trip so Matty was probably sporting sun burn and was hiding it from us, therefore Matty wasn’t staging lefty product protest. 😂👍 #txgenergy
Just released today and already approximately four times the likes of each of the last three or four videos at the same-ish time of days. Chris and mizuno draw a crowd!
Thanks for sharing. This is the first set that I am excited for in years. I have been playing Miura Mb-001 (4-PW) but this may be the one to put in the combo set! Love the content and thanks for having Chris come in.
I’m in the minority being a lefty who loves blades, and I’m soo happy Mizuno made the SEL for us lefties! Hit them Friday and my oh my! Such a beautiful club! The feel is amazing ! Going in my bag!
Awesome that CV was in the house for the release of the new line! Can’t wait to see more. I was fit for a combo set of MMC 4&5 / SC 6-PW and have played them for about 2 months and love them! Still anxious to try MP20 line!
At 18:45 ... congrats Matt and well done TXG and Mizuno for the new (Hogan spec) created lefty set. I am right handed but I think it is a great decision for Mizuno to create a combo-set but as a full set. Exiting stuff.
Excellent as ever fellas, how's about a vid explaining your background in Golf, how you got I to etc, were you Tour players, handicaps etc ohhh and do some more course vlogs, they're fantastic...regards
What more can you say about TXG, Chris Voshall and Mizuno? Best fitter, best rep and best clubs. Add in a lefty set for Matt Blois and you've struck gold!
I still love my MP60 which I bought in 2008 and still play. Earlier this year I said, I will play them till I die. Now I see this beautiful MP20 and fell in love with them. There is a chance, this will be my clubs to die with ;-) Maybe next year, I could make a change from my beloved MP60 to the MP20. Those are such beauties. Anyway Mizuno makes the most beautful clubs. I don't care if there are clubs out there, which would make me playing golf better. For me it's all about look and feel when I hold a club in my hands and address the ball. And it is the feedback I get when i hit it. Now way, I ever play another brand anymore.
Never really considered Mizuno clubs before. After listening to Chris and Ian I hope they have something that can help a high handicapper. Those are things of beauty!
ljigga I’ve been hitting my first set (900 HOT METAL) for a couple of years now. Do yourself a favor & go try yourself some Mizuno! You will be amazed!
These are beautiful clubs but I sure love my Hot Metal Pro irons. For me , they’re the perfect set, but I could see anybody being knocked out by this new line. Mizuno is sure on a nice roll. Thank you for all this information.
Can't really find a better combination to listen to about golf equipment than CV and TXG. So much knowledge and passion, always brilliant. Only way it could be better would be if Chris could hook me up to be a staffer. ;) Actually looking at reshafting my old JPX EZ set, but wish i was near a good fitting center so I could demo Accra shafts, and support them if the were suitable.
Let's all imagine Chris with Larry's hairstyle. With how passionate he introduced these clubs, it makes me imagine how balls will storm fairways and greens with Mizuno clubs. XD
The only iron I've seen that could potentially unseat my Srixon Z785's from the bag. This video definitely peaked my interest in the HMB. Kinda think a combo set of HMB 4-6 and 7-PW in the blades would be straight fire.
I can argue with anyone that my MP-18 SC's where some of the best irons ever made.... incredible feel...forgiveness and performance. I can't wait to get fit and see if the MP-20 can take them out of my bag.
Those are seriously pretty irons. When I tried the MP18-MMC I loved the feel but I struggled with slightly too much draw with them - very consistent just more than I like to see (and yes I now that is me not the club!). Will be interested to try the MP20-MMCs to see if I get on better than it. Cannot wait to see performance numbers on the MP20 HMB, could be a real game changer. I also wonder how these will eat into sales of the JPX919 range. 919 Tour is stunning and so easy to hit it would be difficult for MP18s to be better.
Love the talk and all the information. But would love to see more of the club. Especially when they described details. Maybe a cut to a nice closeup would be nice. Thanks & keep up the great work
Is it Sept 9th yet?I think that's when these irons are coming out,I've been playing MP30S for 17 yrs, bought a set of JPX EZs played them for awhile but never liked looking down at them so I went back to the MPs,Cant wait to try the MP20 line.
Very insightful video , New clubs never get boring in my opinion and this new line of MP's is no exception. One thing I would like to say is Chris if you read this improve you fitting carts for consumers add a long iron so people like myself can try long irons to blend one set to another. I recently purchased a set of JPX forged iron pw - 4 iron because the fitting cart at Close House only had 7 irons to fit with and I hit it very well so I ordered the clubs when they arrived in soon realized I didn't like the 4 and 5 iron and have since had the opportunity to hit a friend's 4 and 5 iron from the JPX Hot Metal Pro and if I could go back would definitely have put those in my bag instead of the forged 4 and 5 irons which I'm stuck with at the moment.
Rodney Greenwell - thanks for the feedback. It's always a tricky thing to anticipate how the whole set will work. We're trying to solve that puzzle too without making the cart too large. That's where the value of a knowledgeable fitter comes in (or our PFS software) which can tell when where your swing will need to start looking for alternatives on the long iron end
What is the fitting approach for where to change from one head to another in a split set? I love the idea but with only being able to hit a 6 iron or 7 iron it’s tough to really know when in the set progression to change to the more forgiving head.
I’m now playing 900 hot metals. Love them! Please review the HMB irons AS SOON AS POSSIBLE..... Daddy’s got to get his Christmas wish list in order..... 😂👍
Mike Moore similar level as the Forged. Designed for a higher launch though. Won't quite reach the forgiveness of Hot Metal or Hot Metal Pro though, just based on size alone.
Great treat for us! I may be in the minority, but you'd hook me instantly if I could have a final copper finish! I'm looking forward to giving these a try at the store :)
Great clubs and interview ! If I didn’t get custom fit earlier this year for Callaway Apex Forged 19’s Smoke finish I would’ve given these a try. Spent a lot of Dinero on those custom fit clubs, I’m not changing anytime soon (like at least 5 years or so ) !! 🤣
Great video. Is it possible for you guys to do a direct comparison between the MP20 and the JXP919 tour? I’ve watched the MP18 MB versus the 919 tour and there was nothing in it. Be very interesting to see the new and improved MB offering against the 919 tour............ please 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm gonna try these but honestly more excited that maybe the 919T will be discounted now! Haven't seen a lot of clubs that look better and are actually somewhat forgiving for their size.
All technology aside, what mizuno gives to irons is "life". There are two aspects to playing golf and golf equipment for the typical recreational player. "Performance " which many manufacturers have figured out how to do. The second in my opinion is the" fun factor " which incorporates things like "feel" , "look" , "response"and "confidence ". I believe the fun factor overrides performance for the average golfer because it keeps them coming back to the golf course. Fortunately mizuno has both and are the most successful in delivering "fun factor " in their iron products than any other manufacturer EVER!
What options are there for MB or close to for 1 and 2 iron please? The only time I would move from Mizuno is if / when I could afford to try _ buy Miura irons - that is the biggest compliment I can give Mizuno 🙂🙂🙂
Chris is the perfect ambassador for Mizuno. Technical expertise of his engineering role combined with a genuine love of the game.
Mizuno is lucky to have an r&d and promo guru like Chris. The dude can breathe life into a piece of metal on a stick.
The Mizuno guy has been around forever. Back in the MP67 68 days he was already in their videos !
Man i love chris. I could listen to him talk about golf clubs for hours upon hours. Mizuno has a good one!
I'm a proper Mizuno fan boy and proud of it. #nothingfeelslikeamizuno.
His technical expertise is AMAZING! He has a fantastic way of explaining the technology, while not making it confusing for the average consumer. I love Chris’ passion for Mizuno products and he’s always a pleasure to see in these videos!!

So glad to see Chris back again.
Man knows his product.
Great ambassador for Mizuno.

Fabulous. Such a treat and privilege to have Chris Voshall come to TXG and provide such great insight on the new Mizuno MP 20 irons. Can’t wait to see demo as well as try them. Well done TXG

Justin Baumann you can clearly tell he’s passionate about his job. I love my mizunos and he’s one of the reasons I looked into them.
110% true
The tech speaks for itself! Ha
Thanks for the kind words.

I agree titliest fitter was horrible mizuno guy was great
Gonna buy mixed set even if I can’t hit them . Look so amazing . I’m in love lol
Of course you can. You'll become a better player because of it.
Make sure you go to an establishment like TXG because most fitting carts only have 7 irons to fit you in and you don't want to be like me stuck with a 4 and 5 iron that your not totally happy with .....

Chris is so great. Such a knowledgeable guy. Mizuno is very lucky to have him. Think I might have to get a set of MP20s so excited
One of the best vids from a tech point of view and the way it was presented. Brill.
I re-watch videos with Chris over and over, and I don’t even play Mizunos. I’m fairly certain I’ve never even HIT a Mizuno iron (I intend to change that soon). Fantastic discussion and love how Chris can bring the product to life with his passion. Thanks to Mizuno for making options available for lefties!
Beautiful looking clubs. Looking forward to seeing the testing
Great scoop having this before anyone else. Shows how much Chris believes in what you guys are doing. Top work guys
I think I've decided that when I get my next set of clubs I'll come to you guys for fitting. Love the videos and your honesty. Keep up the great work.
Love the insight from Chris lets hope more manufacturers are willing to step up and give us similar insights to the design process. I wanna spend all my hard earned money on Mizuno solely because of this GREAT MAN right here 👏🤗🍻
Chris is absolutely the best
It is always amazing that you can hear the excitement in Chris’ and Ian’s voice when they provide insights to what they do. Passion for the game. Love it!!! Now I have to explain to my wife why I need to get a new set of irons 😂
Ian: We have Mizuno coming in to talk about irons.
Matt: Ight imma head out.
Awesome guys!! Those MP-20's look great!
Love seeing Chris on the channel. Keep it up
Best golf channel on RUclips guys! Love your work and can't wait to try these new irons.
Keep the awesome content coming 👍
Chris just seems like the nicest bloke ever
Jack V why thank you. Haha
Chris the GOAT!
Wow amazing explanation on the weighting and difficulty of working it into irons properly. New tooling, new ideas same old Mizuno dedication
Thank you Chris Voshall and Mizuno for taking the time to once again come to TXG and speak with Ian. Chris is a golf equipment rock star
not even halfway through the video and i’m sold i need the hot metal blades now!!!! Getting goosebumps 😂
Mizuno irons are the best feeling/performing irons ever made..MP-60 for life!!
OMG looks so good! Great to see CV up at the shop again!
Can listen to Chris all day long...
Love Mizuno!!! Best Irons and best free fitting options....
JPX 919 Forged Vs MMC/HMB please!
GoldSilver (w/ Mike Maloney) Thanks for bringing it up!! That’s a great idea!!
YES PLEASE!!
These are so beautiful. Hope to see them live next Friday!!!!!!!!
Oh Boy... There goes a grand and a half =D Great content, gotta love the Vosh!
James Hammon especially if you have a comfy couch
@@golfermanjim5622 You can easily take her out with a pretty looking mizuno iron
Great to hear the back story on how these irons have changed. It may be geeky/techie/nerdy however still awesome to hear it from people who know. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! Chris you are Mizuno...Great video..
Love whenever we get to see Chris talk about their amazing product.
But goddamn, he makes Ian look like a bodybuilder lol
I’m in the minority being a lefty who loves blades, and I’m soo happy Mizuno made the SEL for us lefties! Hit them Friday and my oh my! Such a beautiful club! The feel is amazing ! Going in my bag!
Can’t wait to test these beauties!
Hopefully combo set coming my way 😍
Awesome that CV was in the house for the release of the new line! Can’t wait to see more. I was fit for a combo set of MMC 4&5 / SC 6-PW and have played them for about 2 months and love them! Still anxious to try MP20 line!

ljigga I’ve been hitting my first set (900 HOT METAL) for a couple of years now.
Find yourself who loves you as much as Chris loves Mizuno
Wow super impressed with Mizuno right now...
My next set! 😍
I can’t wait until the MP-20’s arrive! #nothingfeelslikeamizuno
I’m schedule to test these on the 4th!
Cool stuff and great vlog again!
I can argue with anyone that my MP-18 SC's where some of the best irons ever made.... incredible feel...forgiveness and performance. I can't wait to get fit and see if the MP-20 can take them out of my bag.
I'm with you nv. My mp-18s are the best performing and feeling clubs that I have ever had. But, admittedly, starting to drool over these mp-20s.
wow professor Chris Voshall. Dude talks a very good game. Really interested in those hmb's.
Cant wait to give these a go...
Christmas happens every year on December 25th, and every time Mizuno drops irons...
I anticipate thousands of views of this vid.
Think I know what kind of irons I'll be investing into now :). Nice job guys
Very insightful video ,
New clubs never get boring in my opinion and this new line of MP's is no exception.
Omg! Did Mizuno and I just become best friends? Yaaasssss!
chynz330 do you like guacamole??
Christian Voshall
Only when severed ripe with that unmistakable buttery taste and feel similar to my MP-18 Blades!
#NothingFeelsLikeMizuno
Love MP Blades i have been using MP4 for the last 4 years and i want to change to MP20 Blades!
Awesome overview Chris! Can't wait for the testing session. Will we have Ian testing all the righty clubs along with Matt on the new lefty set?
such an interesting video, as always, but i play Mizunos so it's just a little more interesting for me. thanks, guys!!
I have MP-29s and I love them, next time I buy Mizuno irons I'm getting fitted.
“We want you to have so much feedback ...” That’s why I love my Mizuno irons. Oh, so want to own-I mean, try that lefty combo set ... someday.
How forgiving is the HMB? Can you compare it to a equivalent club in the JPX lineup?
Mike Moore similar level as the Forged. Designed for a higher launch though. Won't quite reach the forgiveness of Hot Metal or Hot Metal Pro though, just based on size alone.
Christian Voshall Thanks. Will be demoing these as soon as they are in local shops.
I only want those mp-20 blades! And maybe a hmb 2 iron!
I'm gonna try these but honestly more excited that maybe the 919T will be discounted now! Haven't seen a lot of clubs that look better and are actually somewhat forgiving for their size.
Hoping we get an upload of Matty (or Ian!) testing these soon! I love my JPX 850 Forged set, but damn does a mixed HMB/MMC set sound sexy...
Testing videos coming next week!
Home run video!
Just... Yes
Nice irons!
