Is 16 AWG "marine wire" good for sprinklers? Wasn't sure if all 16 AWG wire are created equal. Thank you!
It could be. One of the main differences with irrigation wire is that is rated for direct burial, meaning it can be buried and the insulation will not break down. So marine wire could work, but it would be better to use wire that is for being buried in the ground.
I can’t believe you even have to say this. Who buries where they connect wires? I use Scotchlok IDC connectors. Always placed in a box.
I know. And I ran into another one again just the other day on a 2 wire system with wire splices buried and system didn’t work. 🤦♂️
