    I've been using these for 3-4 years now and have about 5 total across my yard. Even had my neighbor ask where I got them from and he ordered his last year and loves them. Another thing to get is the quick connect with the "air pump" attachment to push any water out of the cylinder to winterize. Trick: there's a small screw on top of the canister towards the sprayer to change the width and height of the water coming out; very handy for creating a mist and for slopes in the yard.

      Ah so with these types will they water the patch directly Infront of the sprinkler? As it looks to arc over it, or do you need another facing that patch? Thanks

    • @MrRaven2517
      @MrRaven2517 4 года назад +3

      David Kearin It depends on the distance of the patch from the sprinkler. I think using the trick I mention to create a mist will give the seed and soil the moisture needed for any growth.

    Run a garden hose under your fence below the first board. Go 50 feet and drop a head at each joint. That's what I did so I don't have to move sprinklers anymore. Put 3 on a zone and add a timer. Only trenching will be at the house to the fence. Use an edging shovel and make a slot. Easy to dig and it doesn't have to be deep. If the hose ever goes bad you can pull it up. The freezing doesn't damage the hose. That's how we do it at "Ratino's Small Engine & Landscaping." 🐀🐾

    Just trench a line and install regular sprinkler heads. It is so easy to do. If you don't want to use solenoids wired to a control panel just send them to one quick connect with 4 or 5 on that line. You can have multiple heads and lines and just hook the hose to the main inlets around your yard. Wiring to a control panel via solenoids would also be easy for your yard because it is all open grass, so don't be scared to go the fully automatic route if you choose.

    My neighbor just installed a Rain Bird 32ETI system. Just saw it in action today and it works great for the two heads he has in his backyard. Full coverage for about 3,000 SF. He has more on the side of his house (misters) and another unit for the front. Sure, there are trenches that needs to be dug for the connection hose, but you never have to go out to move your hose from one head to another so I see that one-time labor as an overall time saver for the number of times you have to move the hose from head to head. Also, I'm just not fan of having that connector sitting above ground and being seen all of the time.
    Rain Bird also makes a similar hose connect system, LG3HE, that is better in my opinion because the entire unit is below grass level. It's bigger than this, so the hole's a little larger, but no hose connection just sitting at ground level waiting to be hit be a lawn mower or weed eater, or becoming brittle from constant UV exposure.

    • @DIYReid
      @DIYReid  5 лет назад +1

    To drill under a concrete path dig a hole each side and get a long enough piece of pvc pipe about 1.5 inches on diameter and cut it sharp in an angle. Twist the pipe through the ground under the concrete and remove soil inside it periodical. It will drill easily through most soils

      according to the company website and the video of wife of the inventor
      www.quick-snap.com/sprinkler
      you are suppose to be able to reach a screw from a slit inside the arrow on top of the sprinkler but the slit is not on any of the 5 that I bought. I had two sprinklers break at the base of the water input stem (there is a warning sign that they are prone to break there) just carrying then from the box to outside to install them so I retrieved one from the trash and cut the rubber back where the arrow is and there is a short screw but it is not long enough to disrupt the stream of water from the nozzle . I think I can rig a longer adjustment screw so I can create more spray and less distance. So far my thinking is that this is a sorry product so I may dump them and try the rain bird brand.

    Haven’t seen these in Australia, And great video btw but with so many in... why wouldn’t you just lay the pipe and even just zone say 2 or 3 sprinklers to a zone. I know each to there own. Time spent connecting hose to each pop up would be not much different to moving a sprinkler. In no way am I criticising you. Couldn’t care less if you used a watering can. Just you have spent the $$$ on the pop ups but still “ manual watering”

    • @DIYReid

      To each their own. Laying pipe under ground disturbs the ground and grass in the area and is a lot more labor and maintenance.

    Okay so you have these sprinkler heads buried in your yard -- but you can only use one of them at a time because you have to go out and drag your garden hose to each one of them and hook it up individually? So, if you have four or five of them installed -- you have to monitor the time that you used each one all during the day and go out and un-hook the water hose and hook it up to each one separately. Unless you have a few garden hoses and hook them up all at the same time.

    • @stevebabiak6997
      @stevebabiak6997 3 года назад

      I have public water that delivers over 100PSI at the entry to the house. There is a pressure reducing valve at the meter to drip the pressure into the range that building codes dictate (typically 40 PSI minimum to 80 PSI maximum).
      You can buy a water pressure gauge at the big box stores or online for around $10; it will attach to a garden hose faucet fitting so you can measure your actual water pressure.
