    Conventional systems DO NOT waste waster as per your diagram. Manufacturers design the heads to be spaced as to have matched precipitation and even precipitation rate which is why the head to head coverage is needed. On a properly installed system, no matter where you measure there will be equal water applied.

    Good to see you posting again! I just found your channel via RUclips recommendation, so congrats! Keep it coming! If you are taking build ideas, I can't for the life of me find a good video for building a wheelchair ramp. I have the jist of it, but I can't figure out how to make the cuts for the 8ft joists that run from the ledger to the sit flush on the ground at both ends of the ramp. Everyone glosses over that part.

    I've made that planning and the cost is 6000$ for my 100m2 yard. I can do a "traditional" one with less than 1000$ and with 5000$ I'm pretty sure that I can cover the consumed water all my life :)

    They should make it to where you can adjust the range of the spray by just going up and down on a scroll wheel as its moving in a circle on the app makes it easier.

    The failure rate on the heads is pretty high and their customer service is hit or miss. I'm glad to see they have fixed the wiring issues now with the preterminated cables. They could have sold a ton of these systems if they would have just lowered their price. Unfortunately they spent 10 years developing this, spent tens of millions of venture capital money and now the time has come to pay the piper. I see this company going the way of Juicero. Hopefully it gets scooped up by Rain Bird when it finally goes tits up.

    money spent on this system is $4000.00 doing it yourself and you are limited if something shorts out, you can not go to local supply. I can design a system that saves water bills 25%. the key is precipitation to the lawn and plants in a standard home.

    I can stomach the price of the sprinkler heads, but the controller cost is *_insane._* It was going to cost close to $2k for one sprinkler head and a controller- not installed, of course. Extra sprinkler heads were something like $368, I think.

    Pex would be better. Flexible... more direct runs... less trenching and pipe, even stil. Oh, and less pressure loss due to elbows.

    • @nova31337
      @nova31337 9 месяцев назад

      Supposedly you're not supposed to bury PEX without a special wrap applied, which can add to the cost. Schedule 40 PVC should be preferred as it is also more durable and resistant to breakage. Also make sure you know how deep your frostline is for your region or you will end up being very sad when summer comes around.

    • @dus10dnd
      @dus10dnd 9 месяцев назад

      @@nova31337 I've never read anything about a special wrap. I've read "properly insulated" which has always been in the context of getting it below the frost line... the soil being the insulator.

      @NDGeist 9 месяцев назад

      Just had a call with them this week, they said for my area that the best solution would be 1" polypipe, as it has less issues in the cold. Added bonus, it's cheaper. Also the frost line is fairly irrelevant, you need to blow the whole system out or you're gonna have a bad time.

    • @dus10dnd
      @dus10dnd 9 месяцев назад

      @@NDGeist I agree with respect to the frost line. It ends up being more of an insurance policy, but more for also ensuring that you don't easily strike the pipe with anything else.

    Hard work? If you can afford this system (being as insanely expensive as it is), you hire someone to do the work. You, working together with them, might have gotten it for free - so you saved a lot DIY’ing the whole thing! But starting at $2000 (and that is only ONE head), you sure can afford to pay $200 to have someone else do the work 🤪

    You've got to be insane to buy this. An irrigreen starter system with 1 sprinkler head, one wire and the controller will run you 8000 dollars.
    The sprinkler head alone is 1100+ dollars.
    A regular sprinkler head is like 15 bucks.
    The controller, which needs about as much brains as a 20 dollar ESP32 nodemcu will run you 6500 dollars.
    Absolute insanity.

    • @thehousedr4
      @thehousedr4 9 месяцев назад

      You are very misguided, or your math is really poor. A 3 head system with controller is a little over 2000.

    • @markmulder996
      @markmulder996 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@thehousedr4 Actually it's their website that's doing the poor maths i've just figured out. It seems to be converting to my local currency, but it's still using the dollar sign on the website. So initially a 3 sprinkler system is 11178 dollars, but when actually adding it to my basket it's suddenly 11178 Polish Zloty's, which makes a bit of a difference.
      Good thing i'm not in Hungary, because then it would show up for half a million dollars.
