Ken Squier still talks about purses as if they actually contribute to the cost of running a Pro team. He also really tries to sell the "Clarion Onboard Camera".
Eh, I'll let it go. I had a Clarion cassette deck in one of my street cars, and IIRC..Squier was actually the reason why media companies in the US started using live onboards. Seems he'd seen Channel 7 using them for some race in Austrailia, and thought, '..yeah, we gotta have that in the US!'
I had to look up Bernard Santal. Another journeyman trying to make a name for himself anywhere he could find a ride. Not that there's anything wrong with that..he's another guy who was much faster than I ever was. He was Swiss, fooled around in Touring Cars, had a few Gp.C and C2 rides. RSC doesn't even have a pic of him in one of these cars. www.racingsport...

i met justin bell a few years ago, nice chap. yes, the onboard cameras were first used in australia, also the commentaters talking to the drivers on the radio (great video of them talking to peter brock at bathurst..at speed during the race!)

+Nicholas Kanan , sorry, dude. I have '88 but not '89. Did he do other races that year? I know there's a guy out there that has Portland. How long did he race? Somebody else has the '91 WG race.

+oldSCCAguy yah he only raced the 1989 season, I can't remember if he did any other race than the the race at the Glen that year. Thanks anyways, I'll try to get the copy of it I have on vhs on youtube somehow along with some old testing videos of his at lime rock

+Nicholas Kanan , I'm using Roxio Easy VHS to DVD. I think I paid about 60 bucks for it three years ago. The problem these days seems to be finding a VHS player where the playback heads aren't completely smoked. I'm lucky..I've still got the last one I ever bought new.
