Episode of Barry Mequire's "Car Crazy", 2003

Yeah, I still think Barry was 'crazy' about more than cars at the time..but damn. Interviews with Shelby, P.J., Bondurant, and Gurney? Worth it.
Ol' Shel is right about how drivers' licenses were handed out in the Southern US. I got mine in North Carolina at 15yrs old..and that was in 1977! At least I had to take a road test. My mom says that she was handed her first one (Louisiana, mid 1950s) after the examiner asked my Grandpa, "Can she drive?" He said 'yes', and they just handed it over. Shelby's not lying! That's just how it happened back then.
Parnelli talks about roadsters vs. rear engines at Indy..and off-road racing, too! Has the Bronco with which he won Baja.
Bondurant talks about being called up to get in the Cobra Coupes, and beat Ferarri. Mentions Dave MacDonald. I still think that guy would have set records that wouldn't be beat for 40yrs, had he lived.
Love it that the interview with Dan was right in front of the '81 Eagle. IMO, it should be a badge of honor when something you create gets banned. :D
