The new Tesla Model Y Cost :35

Should you buy a new or Used Tesla Model Y 6:06
Model Y 3 year ownership summary: 12:13 - Авто/Мото
Another thing worth mentioning if you are going to buy a used Tesla Model Y/3; They are coming out with a big UI update and you need to have a car equipped with the RYZN chip in it. They made the switch to this chip in December of 2021. All 2022 and newer models should have this chip but this can be confirmed in the cars infotainment system before you make your purchase got to "software" and the click "additional vehicle information" to see which processor it has. This will essentially future proof your vehicle more then cars without it.
Can you pls help in insurance ? Which company u using ? The only reason i m not getting tesla cause the insurance qoute it raised about 250 per month so i m paying 340 now and 250 more is 590 total when i replace my car from tesla i tried every insurance conpany and its the same i m 43 and have a cleanest driving record u ever see still that high insurance i really dont get it by the way i m in houston tx

My Model Y Long Range is the same age as yours and I am still loving this car. Best car I've ever owned.
Just supercharged my 2024 Model Y LR at a 250kW supercharger for the first time. Absolutely awesome! Went from 30% to 86% in about 25 minutes. My wife and two kids had a picnic lunch nearby while we waited. So cool.
My car charges at 7,000 kW. It's an ICE that takes 25l of fuel in 2 minutes. Not bad, eh?

GREAT CHAT!!! I bought a 2020 MSLR+ on Feb 29th… and couldn’t get my wife out of it.. So on April 15th I bought a 2022 MYLR.
These cars are right for us at this moment in time.
All of your point are 100% correct! Nice Job.
I ordered the model 3, 2 weeks ago and I got a nice price drop.
That was the best video you have made. Very informative and funny! Thank you!
I like that you mentioned “don’t rush”. Like you said, if the price goes up $1000 next month, it’s not the end of the world. I’m waiting 3 more months to place an order because it will be financially smarter for me to wait a little longer.
Great advice! Thank you
Time to upgrade my roof sunshade! Thank you 😊@Gjeebs !
Just took delivery of my new 2024 Model 3 and wow. Just wow. This car is awesome in every single way. 5 years above all competition on a tech front, EV front, and a drivability front. Nothing else compares, and yes, I drove 5 other EV's including the Seal, and no, they don't competitively compare. Enough said.
Caught the TSLA shareholder
> I drove 5 other EV's
you have not.
@@tanker2406considering he posted on another video saying FSD at $12k is insane and he'd only pay $2k-$3k for it, I don't think he's one of those obsessed/crazy Tesla shareholders.
@@tanker2406 I did actually, but thanks for your comments, muppet. I don't have any shares at all, let alone Tesla. But, you know, thanks again. Twat.
NGL, I test drove the 24 Model 3 expecting to love it, but hated it. Removing the stocks is so damn unnecessary.
@@E_Crypto I demo drove the new Model 3 and was fine with the stalkless turn signals (it sucks when trying to signal in the middle of making a turn though) but the gear selector through the screen felt very weird esp when reversing into a parking spot.
I'm sure people will get used to all the changes but IMO it definitely sucks for older people who don't love change.
Great honest update, and I just love your sense of humor!
This is how governments should operate, not forcing it down everyone's throats.
Yes thank you for explaining the other dealer markups comparing Tesla high prices and the complaints of recent depreciation
Thank you for the helpful information, thumbs up :)
Excellent!!! Very informative 😊
We took the plunge in 2021 with a Model 3 SR+. Missed the discounts and tax credits. It was stated a 3 month wait (at that time). We got it in one week. Still love driving it, although my wife uses it mostly 😂. We got a 2023 Y LR too (got the $14k discount + 7.5k tax credit). It’s been such a joy and so much fun to drive. We laugh at all the people paying $5 + for gas and waiting in line for 30 mins at Costco gas.
I missed the discount by 4 weeks - picked up my mylr dec 2022 and a few weeks later prices dropped 14k plus
Nice video. I have a 2019 LR Model 3. I bought mine for one simple reason, the cost of gasoline was closing in on $500 per month for commuting. Since I bought my car, I've spent $2500 for electricity (California) through a mix of off peak PG&E, low cost charging at work, free charging programs, and solar (since Aug '23) on 75,000 miles. My maintenance costs are $300 for a set of wipers, 12v battery replacement and cabin filters and $900 for a new set of tires at 45K. I plan to change vehicles at 100K and never plan to buy another ICE vehicle. Don't understand the push back on EV's. ICE vehicles aren't going away despite the political push for EVs because they just don't make sense for the entire population, but they do make sense for a major segment of the population, primarily homeowners who have access to low cost overnight charging and don't drive more than 200 miles a day. If you have range anxiety and have two or more vehicles an EV still makes sense for commuting and local driving and you can use the second vehicle (ICE or hybrid) for travel.
Thanks for the video.
I am sure it's coming
Should we wait for teh refresh later next year?
I just subscribed you got a great channel,
Thanks.
I got my red Model Y. I love it your videos have been informative. I got the floor mat you suggested and they look nice. I just need seat covers.
FSD has also been marked down to 8k however EAP is gone so curious how all that works and if there will be further price adjustments on that
I’ve had 3D mats on my 2019 Model 3 and the are amazing
If you buy used, I would go for a 2022, you get the Ryzen chip and 16v li-ion battery instead of the lead-acid most of the new stuff without losing any of the perks like sensors and stalks.
You're too accurate. No one say Prii. This is correct but us "Americans" don't give a damn about correct pronunciation. Anyway, I might need to update my Model Y Performance--almost about to hit 100K but honestly, car has been solid. Thanks for sharing. Always good videos.
Hey Gjeebs! Where do I get your frunk wrap?, looks great!
from a company called stek I got it done at dynamic tint in Tempe
I have a 2022 Outback that I bought new and I already have 94k+ miles I had a Tesla that I sold three years ago and I want another one, but I know that the warranty will be over for me in probably 2 1/2 years. I sure wish the warranty was more like 300,000 miles 120,000. I would knock out quickly.
And by the way, I love your videos !👍👍
I was literally waiting for two weeks to completely save up for my down on a model y and the price drop happened. I’m super stocked about that.
Can't wait for the spring update!
Y order price is lower, but discounts on inventory aren't nearly what they were just a few weeks ago, so inventory - Y's are $2-3K higher now......but at this point, waiting on that new Y anyways
I really appreciate you posting this update! I plan to try Hertz’s try-before-you-buy plan on a Model Y long-range. I can’t think of any negatives to this. Can you?
That sounds like a great idea.
What brand is your phone holder/charger? Price? Link?
If the new Y is anything close to the new 3 I would wait wait wait and pay the extra. The new 3 is mind blowing
Far from mind blowing. My wife looked at a picture of the interior dash of both then asked which one was the new one. lol
Also, I like the stalks.
No the current Model Y is not like the new Model 3. However, prices are probably going to go up when the new Model Y comes out. If you care about prices/deals, then buying sometime this year is a good idea. If you don't mind spending thousands extra (or more) and waiting a long time to actually get the car, then wait until sometime in 2025 when new Y is announced.
My revivifier is a great surgeon. Doc can install a slightly-used mind for you....
Did you try the new 3? Interior is an acquired taste. Doesn’t look as premium in my opinion as the old 3.
@@liam1902don't count on a huge price increase, based off the lack of a huge price increase when the re-engineered M3 was released. Who knows when it will actually be released. Most likely sometime next year for the US.

Hello, new here. Terrific & funny video! How you didn’t sweat is impressive. 😅 We Tesla owners are curious of the battery renewal cost & recycle process after 8 years. Until then, enjoying the best vehicle we’ve purchased for our needs.
Happy with my 2024 MY dual motor except for this stupid whistling sound from driver side window area and a creaking sound from the center console. Service appointment this week. 🤔
What's your average Wh/mi? My December 14th 2023 build Y LR AWD gets 274 Wh/mile over the last 3395 miles
2 weeks ago. Long Range Y was $44k cash!
In my area I can get a long range used for $36,000 with 17,000 miles (2023) or should I get a new 2024.
What’s your opinion and thoughts.
Last bought MYLR2021 with 11.5K miles, 20"Rims, Wht/Blk&Wht, and FSD (automatically get Acceleration Boost on Used from Tesla) for $38.9K. The only negative is that it's Gen1 center console. Great so far and battery warranty is either 120K or Year 2029.
New for a little more. You deserve it!
The reason you purchased your first Tesla is the exact reason I’m considering a Tesla as I’m also a rep. My only concerns is winter driving as I’m mainly highway/mountain driving. Would a model y actually do 200 miles? I rented a myp in the winter and it seemed like it’d be close
Yea If you are going to get the performance maybe get a set of the 19" wheels so you can get more range out of it or just get a long range model. Bigger wheels and the wrong tires kill range
My family member has a MYLR and we did 2 trips to the same location (200 miles iirc): 1 during very warm weather (80 degrees) and 1 during winter (20 degrees weather).
Charging to 100% and mostly doing freeway/highway driving, the one during nice weather was great as we came back and still had like 30-40% of battery. The one during winter we came back with like 10% battery. The MYLR has 310 miles EPA. Could be cutting it close esp when driving high speeds in bad winter weather while also facing some traffic or whatever.
It also depends how efficient your car is while driving. Sometimes you could get more range on winter drives and sometimes a bit less.
@@Gjeebs I was actually thinking the MY long range or M3 long range. Rented the performance as it was the only close MY on turo
I was literally going to buy the inventory discount performance Y in June... no more inventory discount. 😭😭😭😭

1. LEASE - DO NOT BUY!!
2. Never EVER rely on public chargers
3. Never forget to plug it in overnight
4. Do not demand more than light duty out of it
5. All of your daily driving must fit within half the vehicle’s advertised range
6. It will be your second vehicle to an ICE car
7. Never go off the beaten path
8. No, you will not go on road trips
9. No, you will NOT attempt to tow with it
10. Try not to actually drive it
11. Remember that any problem you encounter is your fault & not the car’s

Do you have a video discussing the cost/benefit of installing a Tesla home charging unit got a Y or 3?
The cost/benefit vs what? It comes down to cost of electricity. Most people with access to power at home will benefit from the absolute convenience of charging while asleep. Supercharging can be fairly inexpensive, if utilized at the cheap hours of the day, which are usually the lowest use hours, aka the least convenient for most people. You must also be doing something during these supercharger visits-which can include sleeping. But at a convenience cost. Now for the costs of actually setting up home charging: can be as little as the cost of the mobile charger. Depends largely on what type of outlets you will have access to. If you need to install an outlet, or install a permanent wall charger, the costs go up of course. Even if you can do the work yourself, but most will be paying an electrician. For the most part, these installs are quite straightforward, and should stay below $1,000 dollars. All in all, home charging is all about convenience, and can certainly save money too. I can, however, supercharge 60kw for less than $12 in Sacramento, Ca-if I go at the appropriate time. In some places home charging can be less than half this. Depends on your personal electric rates.
If you live in a home where it can be installed, would there be a benefit to not installing it? Heck if you have an electric dryer and it’s close to the garage or near where you park, just use the dryer outlet. -I’m referring to the mobile connector.
The obvious move for Tesla is to bring back the LR RWD and make that the regular LR and sell AWD as an option. Just like they used to do in 2018-2019. They would slash cost by 10 % and increase range by 15 %. We’d get MYs with 350 miles of range for $43k
The current base Model Y is RWD
Do these vehicles depreciate a lot? That is a big issue for me is the potential resale and being able to actually sell the vehicle when im done with it
I would buy used if you are worried about that
I remember trying to buy a prius. During covid times. But they were charging 5k over msrp.
You appeared on my feed right in time. I'm currently thinking about selling my Honda Touring and jumping in a Model 3 or Model Y vehicle.

Fsd price will go up when it's ready 🤔 not long for that
I consider EVs to be smartphones with wheels. It’s most cost effective to lease one and stay current with software and chip technology. Battery tech is now improving quickly as well. Why commit to a purchase when the device will be old tech in 3 years? Lease and get new tech in 3 years. Just like upgrading your phone.
I’m thrilled for the impact this might have impact on the entire EV market.
Anyone notice the change on website? They removed the financing configuration tool where you could mess with down payment etc. wonder what that means 🤔
It’s back, I was just using it a couple hours ago

Is it worth getting the 2022 or newer Model T due to the AMD chip?
Yes because the new updates won't push to the older ones
Gjeebs how do I order the VION Model Y Roof Sunshade on Amazon and get your discount????
You don't get my discount on amazon. I would just order direct since its free shipping
The tax reduction in price is the biggest incentive. I bought my Model Y end of 2023, and only got 6,500 of that 7,500 tax credit, which i was excited to get. Buying it now you get the full $7,500 because it is taken upfront. Not sure what the used model Y tax incentive is.
Basically if you want at Model Y, and don't mind getting it right before the refreshed juniper version. Great time to get it.

I just bought my model Y long range with FSD 3 weeks ago 😭
You should be happy, because you saved about $20K from what I paid two years ago. I’m not unhappy though, because it’s the most fun car I’ve EVER owned!
Did you buy from existing inventory? Cause these "price cuts" are technically price increases. Inventory prices in the past few months were CHEAPER than the new price now (MYLR was $44k before tax credit whereas now it's $47.9k). Tesla removed inventory discounts and just stuck with a new MSRP.
@@liam1902 I ordered it in May of ‘22 and took delivery in late July, after driving a leased Model S for ten months. I sold the S, which you can no longer do.
@@baldbikeboy oh sorry I was referring to OP who was sad about buying 3 weeks ago compared to today. And yeah I'm aware that people back then got shafted due to all these price cuts. I know someone who bought a MY when it was like $60k back in 2022 but he doesn't have regrets cause you can't do anything about it and just need to enjoy the car.
Here in Toronto, Canada went from $80,000 to $56,000 ..
I didn’t want to play dealers markup, that’s why i have M3 and happy.
Buy used most definitely. Wayyyy better value. And if elon lowers prices the used wont suffer as badly as a new one just purchased.
No. Old ones don't have late UI updates.
If they have the RYZN chips in them they get the new UI update
Don’t buy new. Tesla will keep dropping prices until they get to near cost of production. They will clear out inventory and prop up the stock price. Fu@k their existing customers.
Doesn't work in Canada. Used Teslas are still shockingly expensive. And very little new inventory....
@@FrunkensteinVonZipperneck if I were to move to Canada, would I be able to register a Model Y bought in the United States? Could I sell it?
$120 a month for car insurance? I’m assuming you’re going through Tesla’s insurance policy? If so, how’s that going for you?
I am not going through Tesla I just used an insurance broker
I'm buying a model y now. Not concerned about the Juniper and there is no evidence, still, that it's coming out very soon or even remotely. It may even just release in China first. Then there is the issue of the tax credit. If you're shopping for a great deal, it's not going to get much better and there are some indications that the price is going to start moving back up soon.
The only problem I have with Tesla is you can only get a black or white interior, no tan anymore. WTF Elon? And wonder how well the glass roof will handle a hail storm.
It’s been a few years where is the ST at
I sold it and bought a BMW M2, sold the M2 for a Porsche Macan S, sold Macan for Rivian R1T
This price drop is nothing compared to the inventory price adjustments they just had at the end of the quarter. I got $5200 cut right off the top of my new 2024 MYLR. Plus $7500, plus $1000 referral. Can’t believe people paid $75k for these cars just a year or two ago lololol
