I work at a dealership and got a great deal on a trade-in 2120. A guy upgraded to a BX series tractor. I had never considered a lawn tractor before. I took this one for a spin at the shop and immediately loved the performance. Especially the handling. It's a mid-time unit but was well-maintained. I could not be happier with it. I do have the turf tires but now considering the same tires you have. That looks awesome. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Louisiana.
Thanks for watching. I can’t believe that Kubota doesn’t toot their own horn more over the glide steer feature. It is absolutely genius and works like a dream. I am in love with my GR 2120. It is a grass eating machine, for sure. It feels almost like the engineers at Kubotas designed this machine just for me.
The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the rubber floor mat attached. monster will get between the mat and the floorboard and promote rust. Other than that I can't imagine a better lawn tractor. @@tractortalkwithgary1271
Yeh I love my GR 5 years in no problems I snow blow with mine man she eats snow like nothing throws it 30 feet away do few up hill driveways no problem with just truff tires only dislike is it’s slow backing up
The GR is sweet, the turning radius is impressive. Loved the different camera angles and the suspense music 😀. Loved the hummingbirds oh and great closing 😉👍🏻. Great video Gary, have a great one 👍🏻🙋🏼♂️
I've looked at the gr2120 and it is very impressive. I really like the diesel engine, the four wheel drive and how wide it is. Perfect for steep hills. I'm going to probably get a handle for the right side of my tractor too.
I was really pulling for my Dad to get the Deere. It didn't take me long to fall n love with the Kubota. Their little Diesel engine doesn't take a back seat to anybody. It is a very nice unit and I have kept the Deere. I wouldn't want to part with either of them. Thanks for watching Aaron.
I think they are really under-rated. Although the Deeres are the Cadillacs of mowers, they are much more expensive than the Kubota. Just the gas version alone was $3000 more than this Kubota model in diesel. If you noticed, the Kubotas really throw the grass. On windy days, you really get plastered with grass clippings if you don't use the diverter. Thanks for watching and for the comment. See you for the next one.
How's she goin'? Adding the left side handle will come in handy for the side hills I'm sure!!! That little Kubota Lawn Tractor is some nice. The rear wheel clutches make this the next best thing to a zero turn eh!!! Don over at Houndsman One has a great channel for sure!!! Take care!!!
They are hydrostatic. I have pulled an 8 ft. king drag which consists of 2 grader blades. I use it to smooth out the horse paddock. It did fine. I prefer to use my Kubota RTV 900. It is heavier and I feel more comfortable using that.
It does a really nice job with the cut. It really throws the grass. You need to be careful with the wind. Otherwise, you could end up taking a grass bath.
It actually does just a bit nicer job than the Deere does. The Deere is like a ‘96 model but still cuts the same as it always has. I still use the Deere to pull a lawn vac trailer. When the grass gets too tall and it leaves wind rows, and in the fall to gather leaves. I wouldn’t part with either machine but I do tend to go for the Kubota first.
nice review of the gr, why does everyone seem to mow so slow with the gr? compared to a standard zero turn? does the diesel mean slower rpm so it wont cut and discharge as quick? thanks
Discharging is not a problem with this mower. On a windy day if you blow the discharge into the wind, you will get showered in clippings. I don’t think that I mow slow. It has been very dry here the last 3 years and the ground is pretty rough. I don’t water the lawn. I let it grow naturally. If It seems that I go slow, it is because it can get pretty rough and it won’t do a very even job of mowing if it bounces too much. Add to that, I don’t want to feel like I just went a full round with Mike Tyson 😅
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 Thanks for the reply. looking a buying one, going between it and a cub cadet pro z 154 Steering wheel mower. Got a 25 degree slope on my land which i need to mow going across. the cub is 4inches wider than the kubota. how do you find it going across a steep slope?
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 and as to you mowing slow, it isnt just you. seems most videos i can find of this machine they mow at a very steady pace. Compare to people on zero turns that at mowing at nearly full speed. Maybe it just looks slower on video? thanks
@@AaronDav-nq8hk , I have some really steep slopes that I mow. It handles it very well. It is fairly heavy for its size. The best feature of the GR2120 is the glide steer. These are 4wd units and the Glide Steer is a simple but brilliant method of disengaging the inside rear wheel in a tight turn allowing the unit a very tight turning radius. Because of the steep slopes, a zero turn is not an option for me. The only thing that I do not like about the GR2120 is Kubotas treadle pedal. I still have my John Deere GX335 that I use on my lawn vac. It has the twin touch pedals that I much prefer. The treadle pedal is not a deal breaker for me. I like everything else about the machine. I wish Kubota offered a choice. But, they don’t. Thanks for watching. Good luck with your purchase. Whichever direction you go.
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 Thank you for the reply again. it does seem a really nice mower. bit more versatile than a zero turn. Idk if you have seen the, but i was looking at the cub steering wheel zero turns. That glide steer feature looks brilliant. 1 more question, have you done much towing with it? pull alright or is it more geared towards mowing. Thanks for you responses! and your video 😁
Some say it is a liability issue. I think that I would disagree. I am just glad that they nod at least offer it as an option. I will sure enjoy having it on when I mow the steep slopes down in my pasture.

Looks like a great little machine. My brothers G6200 is a sweet mower.
Took me a bit to get on to the treadle pedal, but I like it now.
Super cool lawnmower gary! I need to get one of those handles..lol
Thanks Channon.

Indeed Mike. Your channel is pretty darned good too.
Great channel!! How is the GR ?? Reliability! Thankyou in advance
Nice video, would be a nice add on for our 2501.
Indeed. Easy to install and I think that you will find it very useful. You will wonder how you ever managed without it.

Do these have a strong enough transmission to pull a tire to smooth out a path or tow a garden trailer with dirt in it?

He is a stand up guy, for sure and for certain.
How do you like the GR 2120 cut quality and does it have any problems. Thanks in advance.

So far I’ve got 50 hours on my 2501, that’s 50 hours of my hand looking for that damn missing handle kubota cheaped out on.

I love my Kubota gear but .... a grab handle as an option. 🙄 it should just come with that stuff standard. Great video! Stay cool.

This is actually considered a GARDEN TRACTOR.
