My wife Barb and I live on our 224 acre farm in the scenic hills of n e Iowa. Having been a tractor enthusiast my entire life, it seems only fitting to have a you tube tractor channel. my favorite videos were the two videos that I have done of Big Bud. The worlds largest tractor.
On this farm, we have 7 tractors. We have John Deere, Ford, and Kubota.
Not everything on this channel is related to tractors. If you are lucky, you will get to see some high country Jeeping in Colorado.
I also like to attend farm auctions and equipment consignment auctions and feature them on this channel.

Interview With A Combat Marine
This is a 2 part series where I do a sit down interview with Dan. Dan is a friend that I met several years ago when we worked together.
Dan is originally from Southern California and we were lucky enough to have him end up in Iowa,
Dan has some rather unusual experiences and humorous tales to tell. Dan did combat tours each in Iraq and Afghanistan., while serving with 2nd Battalion / 5th Marines. Although he chooses to stay away from tales of actual combat, his time in the Marine Corps is something of legend.
After his time in service with the Marines, Dan got out and became a civilian security contractor and went right back to Afghanistan.

We just got my 1940 Ford 9N tractor back from the shop. It hasn't run in two years and had a few issues that needed to be addressed. You made that way harder than it is. Lol. Roll one of the loops next to the other. The loops counteract each other. Un-loop both of them at the same time together, and your chain is untangled. 😁

You're right about nobody making videos of these being used. Other than a few little demo videos, there's not a ton out there. I'm looking at the L3901/2 and videos of that in use are even more rare than the 2501. It's a shame because the DT models of the two have different transmissions - the 39 looks to be more of a true shuttle shift and I believe it's fully synchronized. It also has a 2 stage clutch for the PTO, allegedly... But of course I can't confirm any of this because the dealers don't want to stock the DTs and nobody is making videos with them 🙄. Thanks for doing what you do!

Where did you get the mirrors and possibly a part number? Also, what brackets did you use to mount the mirrors?
I just searched Amazon for golf cart mirrors. They are relatively inexpensive. The mounts I made from some flat stock I had and then used retrieval magnets to the flat stock and bolted the mirrors to the magnets The magnets were the single biggest expense and a step that you could skip. You should be able to copy my set up for around $20-$25 minus the magnets

Great interview, Gary. One of my biggest regrets is not enlisting in the Marines. I was at the recruiting station with papers in front of me and pen in hand. But it was June 1975 and Vietnam was too fresh. I chose the Marines because my grandfather was a SeaBee during WW2 and had great admiration for the Marines, seeing what they did on the Islands in the Pacific. Thanks to you and Dan for not bowing out like me!
