The whole purpose of the Glide Steer system is to maneuver really tight turns! Your dealer is nuts! I’ve had mine for 13 years and have finally made 400 hours. It’s too sad Kubota screwed loyal customers like us all because they didn’t want to admit failure on their part. Now it’s redesigned and works great! But not mine or yours. I rarely gripe like this folks. But I don’t buy many $10,000 mowers in my lifetime. I have spent hundreds of man hours working on mine. Don’t get me wrong. The Diesel engine is the absolute best. It’s just that Kubota is so independent that they crush little guys like me. If I were a big time Delta farmer with a few big pieces of Kubota machinery around, it would have been repaired or replaced proto. That’s all.
Yeah I know that issue too with Glide Steer cables... The rear left or right wheel just wont turn off,so you cant really steer precisely, when the cable tears apart...
Thanks for the video. You said that one of your rear wheels wasn't pulling. I have a GR2100 that has the same issue. Did you have yours repaired? Thanks.
I did get mine repaired for that issue about two years ago. The clutch inside the transmission for that wheel was engaged due to the cable being pulled. This caused for the mower to have no drive, but it destroyed the clutch on the one side since it was engaged for a good amount of time. After the repair, it ran like it was brand new for a good while, then the horror stories you hear about these units finally happened to me. The bushing in the power input shaft coming from the transmission sheared itself apart effectively destroying the entire transmission. So, I ended putting a new transmission in the mower, the same transmission that is in the GR2120s. Runs greats, I love the tractor and very pleased with everything with it.
Thanks for the additional information. Given the cost of installing a new transmission, I think it might be time to move on from the GR2100. Sounds like $2-3k for a new transmission. I appreciate your video, and reply. Thanks!

How’s the GR running now?
