    Pure shooter, unbelievable athletic ability, Great footwork, phenomenal defensive player. Court vision was exceptional and then he could just flat-out put that ball in the basket. By far in my opinion the most amazing athlete I've ever seen in any sport. Michael Jeffrey Jordan"

    Needed to win the 5th game at the Palace, a very pivotal game, and didn't do it. So I don't buy "Scottie Pippen migraine in game 7, or the Bulls would've won". Only way Bulls win this series is win a game at the Palace, and they couldn't do it. This series demonstrates how important homecourt advantage is.

    That forearm by Laimbeer on Jordan at 5:08 would've been an ejection and a fine today. He didn't even go for the ball...lol.

    Umm, not true, Mitch Richmond 6'6, Reggie Miller 6'7, John Starks 6'5, Gerald Wilkins 6'6 I could go on. But that's not the point, the point is if you watched the games, it took massive amounts of help to guard MJ, double and triple teams all night. Going one on one was begging for 50 pts from MJ. And when that didnt work, the "Jordan Rules" were implemented, and he swept the Pistons when he figured that weak "beat him up" scheme out. MJ is in a totally different atmosphere.

    If you put 1989-1990 version of Jordan to the 1993-1994 Bulls (Pippen All Star BJ Armstrong All Star, Horace Grant All Star) this would beat the 1995-1996 72-10 Bulls.

      There wasn't a louder arena in the NBA-EVER. As far as indoor arenas go, I'll argue that Chicago Stadium and Joe Louis Arena were the two loudest.

    I agree with you dv122 on everything but the 8 second half court rule. I think that is one rule change that made it more difficult for offenses. I can't imagine how many back court violations there would have been with hand checking and rough play with an 8 second timer. I remember lots of games where there were close calls on it too.

  • @uberathlete
    @uberathlete 11 лет назад +3

    Today's zone is not a true zone. The middle opens up every few seconds. No handchecking. Automatic defensive foul when you have a hand on the perimeter player. The defensive rules today are designed to favor perimeter players. Stu Jackson, head of the rules committee said as much and makes no secret about this.

    the difference between jordan and lbj,and others for that matter,is that mj especially in his prime was unguardable.his worst possible games he would still end up with 20-25 pts.that is not the case with LBJ as demonstrated quite often in finals games.his only real go to move is the lay up

      @@hectorlopez1069 so what???? Who said getting a double- double was mandatory in order to win???? That's what's wrong with you "modern era" fans, you place more importance on getting stats than you do on WINNING. Shows your lack of knowledge regarding the game. MJ did whatever the team needed to win.

    how do we know how wade and kobe would've played in the 80s? still probably great. they could've adapted to the more physical play by necessity just like the other players of the 80s did. if you asked many of those players from the 80s if they wanted to play physical if they had a choice a lot of them would likely say no.

    C'mon Alonzo Morning, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajawon, David Robinson, Shaq, Mutumbo, jus to name a few against who...other than Dwight and Ibaka neither of which is a 7 footer there's no one. Bynum? slow as shit, NeNe? NOT, Joel Anthony? he's only 6'9, Tyson Chandler 7 feet but only 230 in weight, Al Horford? NOT, Blake Griffin? NOT, Brook Lopez? NOT. Face it there are a lot more athletic wings now not post players. The league is a lot smaller now than 15 yrs ago.

      true, im just saying ive never seen jordan get blocked on a drive twice, a jumpshot is one thing. you have to watch more highlights of this game to see the second block rodman kind of forced jordan to shoot jump shots

    @dv122 typical mythmaking. games were unbelievably fast-paced in the late 80's and early 90's. Teams routinely averaged over 110 a game with ease. It was easier to score then.

    @kelvincarter989 i dont think u are even close to getting the point. before, though 2 guards were smaller they will overpower u by means of hand checking. size aint a big deal coz they can use their hands to defend u so tell me how did size became an argument in MJ's era? if u talk about now, players at the 2 guard position may have gone bigger but since they cant use their hands to defend what happens is... a clear path to the lane. now tell me again... what's the use of the height advantage?

  • @kelvincarter989
    @kelvincarter989 13 лет назад

    @dv122 no, they can play a zone today. if the defense was way worse, the teams would score more points. they score less than they did back then. jordan is the best to ever play but no need to make up stuff to make it even more apparent. what kobe and lebron have done in their time is very impressive, just not jordan. one thing jordan had to his benfit throughout his career is weak two guards throughout the league. today you have a ton of 6'6"-6'8" guards, back then jordan was tall for a 2 guard

  • @mikemcgrath6150

    So much is made of the unsportsmanship of Detroit but jordan cried every year about them being dirty and bad for the game etc when he lost. Why would u honor someone w a handshake when u lose when they were very disgraceful in their defeat? Its mj worshipping spin at it's best.

    @dv122 all im seeing is just bad defense.

  • @kelvincarter989
    @kelvincarter989 13 лет назад

    @dv122 Jordan is the best player to ever play this game but Jordan's 35, 5, and 5 on 50% FG is no more impressive than LeBron's STATS. Defense is softer but Jordan didnt have to score against a zone nor did he have to finish on athletic centers. Hence much fewer points scored today. Jordan was the only athlete of his caliber back then, today there are guys as ATHLETIC (not skilled) on every team at many positions. What separates MJ/LBJ is HOW they do it and the end result when it matters
