61 and not a single 3. Unheard of in today's game for a 2 guard. Jordan was the best midrange shooter ever. When he made his mind up to take over a game he just did and there was nothing anyone could do. Detroit was a great defensive team, they switched everyone off trying to guard him and it didn't matter.

      @M keep dreaming bruh.
What makes a person watching a vid about a man dominating a completely different game/sport, against one of the better defensive teams in the league comment about a bunch of guys kicking a ball in a goal❓️🤔
      Jealousy❗️Plain and simple.
Any player in your sport a *Billionaire*? Any player in your sport own a sports *Franchise*? Any player in your sport *donate millions* during covid relief to hospitals around the country? Any soccer player have a *shoe label* that's been number 1 in the industry since the late 80's?
It's because of MJ, when he played, that basketball is the number one sport in the world!
Beckem, Renaldo are popular, but have not transcended their sport the way MJ has globally! And I actually think Peele was better than them all, but neither he, nor them, made their sport world renowned the way guys like Kareem, Magic, Bird, MJ, Kobe, LeBron, did for 🏀 basketball!
I'm still trying to understand what would make a guy comment about soccer looking at a basketball vid?
Jealousy can make folks do crazy things.....😳

I have lost count on how many times of Jordan scoring 50 or more points against a physical championship team like the Detroit Pistons. Isiah Thomas once said there has been no athlete in all professional sports that seems to possess stamina and endurance like Michael Jordan. Thomas said that whether Jordan is playing against the best team or the worst team, Jordan consistently plays at a high energy level while he, Johnson and Bird could not reach. He also said that Jordan, who is healthy, continued to play at a high level while he, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird succumbed to injuries. This is why a healthy, high playing level Jordan was able to win three consecutive NBA championships twice while Thomas, Johnson, and Bird faltered with age and injuries. Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. In my opinion, I do not think Kobe Bryant or LeBron James could consistently play at this level against physical defensive teams like the Pistons or the Celtics of the 80s, or the Knicks in the 90s like the way Jordan has.

2:59 - who said MJ didn't have a jumpshot back then?
4:55 - look at his first step, the quickness is astounding. Lane is clogged, Jordan scores anyway.
5:20 - just another reloaded shot. The difficulty of that move is crazy.

Way more impressive than LeBron's effort against the bobcats because defense was better in the 80$! :-)

@@nostalgicbliss5547 and todays defense is garbage. Come down the middle in the 80's on Detroit Pistons and get beat down. Backing down trying to score with a big ass hand on your back controlling which direction you could go. The 80's and 90's the NBA played defense. Flagrant fouls today were normal fouls in the 80's. Imagine Lebron James coming down the middle and getting clobbered by Rick Mahorn and Bill Lambier. Lebron James would have gone out injured for sure.

Michael Jordan is so good he is embarrassing the league that's what the late great Chuck Daly said about Michael Jordan and Pat Riley said one time that as long as Jordan was in the league no one else would when the NBA title and Grant Hill said please retire so someone else could have a chance to win Jordan is the goat

61 points on the Bad Boy Pistons! Let that sink in. One of the toughest, nastiest defenses the NBA has ever seen. In comparison, LeFraud James scored 61 only ONCE in a now super soft league, against a lowly Bobcats team in a blowout win, while playing for the “superteam” Miami Heat. The kids have no idea these days what a real great baller is.

This is what real offense is. 61 points against this championship level hall of fame defense on the road.
F Kobe and his 81 against cellar dwellars in February. Kobe wouldn't have got 30 in this game.
And you can tell Mike really only cares about winning....he's not trying to pose or look cool... the man just wants to win.

This before the infamous playoff matchups, Zeke n MJ very cordial...pat on the butt here, arm around Zeke there... but Detroit knew we can’t play regular ball vs him we need something a little bit more. Very next year he gives them 59...

You are avoiding very basic topics when comparing the two Jordan has countless things he's done that Kobe has never come close to achieving on the offensive end and defensive end. please post the number of 30 and 40 plus games Jordan's numbers are absolutely staggering

I keep saying look at the players scoring numbers who played in pre- hand checking era and post hand- checking era like Iverson, Kobe, Paul pierce etc. Then you will realize there was a difference due to the allowed physicality of the leave. Jordan was doing this when things were very physical .
