For the record, the Ghost Nappa thing was...well, think about how he worded it. He was "having a stroke in [his] trailer"...he regrets "adding a notch to his belt", which means it had the capability of being tighter....and he told Gotenks to "ask his father" what all of this meant. I don't think it was a stroke that did him in...I think he choked it in the worst way.
....so yeah, a very Nappa way to die.

The "Super Reunion" scene is the best. Talking about current cannon events, about Black Goku, Trunks dying his hair and the both Brolys, just amazing
And Jiren that nobody cared for.
The thing I find interesting is that technically GT could still be canon, yet also it doesn't make sense for GT to be canon... Unless they have some sort of reset maybe...

Btw, the ghost nappa joke wasn't him having a heart attack. I know it sounds like that at first, but what he said was he was "having a stroke" and that his death was his own fault because he "shouldn't have made that extra notch in the belt". It was a joke about autoerotic asphyxiation.

@@MozillaVulpix Yeah, they used lot of stuff from the mobile games here. Like some of the artwork renders used in the thumbnails for the Buu Bits come from Dokkan and Legends. "Dial M for Vegeta" uses in-game sprites from Dokkan, while "Rule of Threes" uses the Legends card art for SSJ3 Goku.
But what actually caught me off guard and made me laugh way too hard was when I realized just what they were using is that the track that plays during Gotenks' Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack isn't from any of the DB/Z/GT/Super soundtracks or an original composition from AinTunez but is, in-fact, a rearrangement of a Dokkan Battle soundtrack.

The Vegetas sacrifice and Super Saiyan 3 screams were insane
If the spirit bomb part was extended I can see it going like -

Vegeta: "No shit"
Goku: "Even the power of god and anime isn't enough to stop this guy"
If they did DBS bits I would expect Goku's Genkidama vs Jiren to go like:

Jiren: *has a Popo in his universe helping him with both hands*
People can bash the Buu Saga all they want, but the SSJ3 transformation and Vegeta’s sacrifice is still up there with the best DBZ moments, IMO
It was all worth it to hear Amber as 18 one last time.
At long last, someone waited to make a reaction video to the official TFS release rather than the parts that were copied from Totally Not Mark's Buu reviews.

It doesn't but I knew TFS would upload their own comp with the alternate scenes. I still enjoyed mark's video with these clips involved. Like I have told others I am satisfied with what they did. It was better than not having any of the buu saga at all. C:

@@Solidnypan Maybe, although it's a fairly different context from when it is normally used... I caught it first time, but I wasn't sure they were actually making that joke or if it was coincidence... Typically it only happens when he uses the move.

I feel like the team have explained why they don’t want to abridge another season in its entirety.
1) Copyright issues that could (and have) take down their channel
2) Not being able to properly monetize DBZA on their RUclips channel, hence why they had to rely on patreon and such for so long
3) At the end of the day, it burnt them out for so long.
I don’t know. As an artist myself, All of this seems incredibly reasonable as to why they needed to let go of this show.
That's Just Toei Japan having different copyright laws. Where this was uploaded is what applies to the copyright rules.
1. it's fair use because it's a Parody Which falls under a requirement for fair use
2. it's fair use because it uses minimum required copyright material to make jokes land. *IE since it's a shortened version, IN many cases HEAVILY shortened, it is protected by fair use Parody Reason.*

@@TheUltimateRare "Fair use" doesn't stop the copyright owners from issuing takedown strikes and threatening the channel anyway. It happened to them multiple times in the past, and the bigger they got, the more a takedown threatens them, since they lose more income while affected by a strike.
i'm pretty sure other than basic fan merch, they made no money off abridged videos. the ad money should have gone directly to the ones who claimed the video.@@Acorn_Anomaly
@@TheUltimateRare that's when the licensors are playing nice and only issuing content claims or content ID flags.
If they decide to be jerks and issue strikes, it can affect monetization of the entire channel, including their own original videos that don't have any copyrighted content.
That's not a hypothetical, it has happened multiple times in the past, including resulting in complete termination of the TFS channel and needing to start over.
That decision is entirely at the licensors' discretion, and they've proven petty enough to do it multiple times before.
I see what you mean about definitive reviews, but I would still recommend watching some of marks videos, not because they are definitive but because he goes into sound and art design and the names of the people that worked on the things he reviews. On a personal level I find a lot of that really interesting.
That's true, I just...miss when Ajay would make his own videos instead of writing his content for Mark's videos...
@@MozillaVulpix Mark himself doesn't consider these "definitive" or anything. In his Buu Saga review, he says
"Despite the amount of work having gone into this, it's important to me that folks don't look at this as some sort of definitive review of the series. You might recall the numerous multi-language visual montages within these videos (something really cool he does is he plays montages of certain scenes with multiple languages) and of all the hours worth of analysis, those montages are for me stronger than any line I've written. For me, they show the scope of what Dragon Ball means across the world, that it's not just a story that means one thing to one person but a far-reaching epic crossing cultures, language barriers and indeed generations.

The buu mouths serve a great purpose. They make buu SO much more creepy and intimidating. As a villain he always seemed to fall pretty flat for me, and this absolutely would change that.
Buu fell flat because he could have been killed at various points. SSJ 3 could have killed Fat Buu. Gohan could have killed Super Buu. And Vegetto could have killed Buuhan. He didn’t really feel like a threat because no one took him seriously
If you saw the scenes with Buu at the lookout and the stuff he did there, I don't know how you thought he fell flat as a villain?

@@OnTheEdgex23 Yeah, except when he wasn't: like the human extermination multi-beam, turning Chichi into an egg and crushing it, putting pression on Piccolo, threatening him to kill everyone if he didn't bring him Trunks and Goten, just as Goku promised him a better fighter than himself, making everyone under stress for not wanting to wait for them to be ready before fighting him, and finally breaking free from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, turning everyone in the lookout into chocolates and eating them while leaving Gotenks and Piccolo trapped into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber behind him...not that flat as a villain for me (except the fact he can use his antenna as a magical beam to change anything into what he wants, mostly sweets and candies in order to eat them, which is already pretty cartoony an silly on its own to take it seriously in the first place, I'll give it to you on that one, at least).
@@798jeremy Ehh the only time he felt like a threat was when he first became Super Buu. Then that ended a few episodes later with that terrible SSJ3 Gotenks fight.
BuuTenks when he destroyed Gohan was pretty threatening. And then that ended when he became Buucolo. Compared that with Freeza or Cell who were allowed to be a major threat for a while longer gave them a better build up.
The "Super Duper Saiyan" was a callback to the (abridged) Cell Saga right after Gohan goes SS2. Both "Super Duper Saiyan" and "Super Dee-Duper Saiyan" are said.

Fun Fact: The music that plays in the SS3 sequence is mix of the Faulconer SS3 theme and the Kai SS3 theme!! (In a similar how the Father-Son KamaHamaHa music was a mix of Gohan Angers and Day of Fate)

Yes. Thank you for pointing out the ssj2 thing. It used to be be "the super saiyan thats gone beyond the wall of a regular super saiyan". A bigger mouthful that ssgss

I cant remember the wording but ssj3 was like the super saiyin that goes futher beyond the barrier of a super saiyin whos broken the barrier of a super sayin.
38:35 I mean, would Vegeta's thought process really change that much? Vegeta didnt think that much about his role with Buu's awakening either. He sitll cares about his wife and children and knows there is only one way to kill Buu to protect them.

The Gohan adult joke was because of anime and manga differences. In the original manga Gohan was 9 when he fought Cell but in the anime roughly a year was added between Frieza and Goku's return. In DBZA, Gohan was considered 11 after the time chamber and 18 during the Buu fight because TFS used the anime's time gap.

Goku prevented Gohan from intervening because he was aware that Spopovich wouldn't kill Videl and that they could use a senzu bean to heal her. Really it's not a lack of empathy, it's their warrior spirit and has nothing to do with the rules of the tournament. Videl had plenty of chances to quit, chose not to, and they respected that.
Spopovich, as a character, only serves as a tool to lure them to the real threat, made obvious because Babadi kills him on arrival.

SS3 is kinda dumb as a transformation and Im glad they kinda nerfed it in Super with Goku saying its not useful because it drains power too quickly...but recall that babidi and buu were on their way to west city to destroy capsule corp. Goku just did that to distract them. But the whole thing of goku not ending buu because he wants the others to have a chance whats really dumb.

The names of the transformation in DBZ are kinda bad because putting a number on different transformations or expressions of your power only work when your power is either mechanical, (like "prepare to face the wrath of the Bucephalus cannon MK-2" or something like that), the number is cleverly incorporated like Luffy's gears, or your power sort of works in stages but usually you either call it level/stage/tail/restraint level/seal/whatever-indicator-you-wanna-use and then the number, like in Naruto you don't say "oh that's the Ninetails' clock's 3rd tail" every time, this is the problem ssjb or at the time "ssjgssj" ran straight up against and arguably that would have happened even if they called it ssjg2

I don't HATE the buu saga it's actually quite alright when Toriyama decided to goof off, probably anybody with a head would have known it was not gonna be well received whatever that's fine
If gohan and company are dead they should have been able to reach supreme kaiosein (whatever they call their world) maybe not right away but for the story purposes they are all gone hanging out on that flower patch with dabura until revived
