Good Times is an American television sitcom that aired for six seasons on CBS, from 1974, to 1979. It was television's first African American two-parent family sitcom. Good Times is a spin-off of Maude, which itself is a spin-off of All in the Family, making Good Times the first television spin-off from another spin-off. The first two episodes are notable for their strong, liberal, sociopolitical stance, representing an attitude of 1970s progressivism.

🥰🥰🥰🥰
I agree
THELMA STILL LOOKING GOOD TILL THIS DAY!
Bernadette Stanis is now a cast member on Family Business season 4
Man, I was in love with her when I was a kid. Seemed like all my buddies were in love with Daisy Duke, but Thema had my heart! Lol 🤣👍
Yes, she does look good for her age and is still beautiful as ever.
@@dewash331 I watch " Family Business" and I enjoy watching her on the show.
Thank you that’s what I said that is not Bernadette in the wheelchair that fake pictures Black don’t Crack she is still beautiful
That’s not Ben Powers older, that’s Julian Bond. 😂
They all keep using that same picture, even though everybody keeps telling them that's not Ben Powers.
Plus I don't like the way he had nothing else to say about the black police officer....but "wooly hair, characteristics common to all African Americans." Well damn is that all that the man achieved in his acting career?
Lmao. Ikr
Any old black face will do, they don't care.
The elderly woman in the wheel chair is not Debbie Allen. You should verify your facts before broadcasting. It makes your credibility sink. Have your work checked. I like your idea. Do more after you check the facts.
this show was a comfort for me during turbulent times as a child, thank you actors and actresses.
My favorite all time sitcom, I'm still watching the reruns everyday like it's a new episode lol never getting tired of them. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Bernnadette (Thelma) in person at one of our Military Bases in San Antonio Tx. at the BX in 2017. I took a picture with her we talked as though we were old friends, she's so down to earth.
Same here!
My favorite next to the Jeffersons and What's Happening👍My family had the pleasure of meeting Thelma and her real Momma at our Church Perfectting Saints Worship Center doing her Book Tour😉She signed autographs and took Photos💯Down to Earth and Very Sweet😉
@@robertisaac3723 oh yes Robert my second all time favorite but they don't do reruns often wish they would.

Wow I bet that was nice ❤️🥰🤳🏽❤️🙌🏽
To whom it may concern, the later photo supposedly of "Ben Powers" the actor who played "Kieth Anderson" in the "Good Times" TV sitcom IS NOT a photo of the late Ben Powers. The picture displayed on the right "between (time log) 2:27 & 2:36" is actually that of civil rights leader Julian Bond of the 1960s who is also deceased.
Yes it is
neither is tha photo of thelma i wish yall quit doin this ought to be ashamed of yourselves makin these celebrities look like monsters. if i was one of their family members i would of been sued yall pants off.
Hal Williams is not dead. There are so many mistakes here. Fo your homework before you post a video.
Sad to see so many have died..l grew up with this show..never missed it..always left u with a good feeling ,cos everyone stuck together in good and bad...always loved Thelma glad to see shes still fit and well.
Yeah, there was Good Times, where they never made it out, and The Jeffersons, where they never looked back. Both quality shows, but I was partial to the Jeffersons, as the stories tended to be more positive. Good Times absolutely kept it real. I still remember kids at my elementary school wearing "Dyno-mite!" T-shirts, with JJ on them. I don't think Jeffersons had a T-shirt.
Jimmie Walker kinda reminded me of a black Bob Denver(Gilligan on Gilligan's Island)
Regardless of details, the 70s were the peak of America.
only 3 people r deceased from good times esther rolle janet dubois an recently iohnny brown
Rest in Peace 🕊️ to the people who died😔
And some so young.💔
That's Julian Bond, he was Georgia State Senator not Ben Powers, Damn!!!
Surprised Chip Fields wasn't included. She had a small part, but major to the storyline, and exceptionally acted.
Yes! Chip Fields is Kim and Alexis Field’s mom
Who??
@@mariejohnson9665 she played Penny's (Janet Jackson's) abusive biological mother.
And some of Wilona’s boyfriends.
Right @whitesoxfan68 , Chip (Who's a very good Actress) played an important part to some of the storylines that was just as relevant to the show like some of the Others who were shown with short parts.
R.I.P. TO ALL WHO PASSED! 🙏🏽💖🕊
Now I wanna watch Good Times and The Jeffersons.

Sweet Daddy Williams was not played by Bubba Smith. He was played by Theodore Wilson who died in 1991
It didn't say Bubba Smith played Sweet Daddy. Go back and re-watch. He said his name was, CLAUDE.
This fool got all the facts wrong
I hope they can fix the Julian Bond in the Keith Anderson/Ben Powers section of this video.
Some of them looked old in their 30’s but looked amazing as they grew older. Bernadette is still fine. My favorite show and I was born in 1991. I had all of the seasons on DVD. They got lost after I got out of the Air Force.
Hello Keisha how are you doing?
The 2015 picture is not Ben Powers. It is Julian Bond. This needs to be corrected.
Yo that’s what I was thinking!
This show was great, and Thelma was, at the time, the hottest young woman on TV❤️
Fake news. Stop the lies.
Thats a fact. Daisy Duke didn't hold a match to that candle 🔥

That's not a 2015 picture of Ben Powers it's a picture of Julian Bond who died in 2015 as well.
Glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed it
Yes. They need to get it right.
How about Lenny? He was funny. The one who always sold things under his coat.
That's not a picture of Ben Powers, that's actually Congressman Julian Bond. (at 2:33)
I've seen some other pictures of Ralph Carter, and he hasn't aged well. He was the youngest of the kids, and he looks as old as they look.
RIGHT!! i'm 61 & i don't look like that.
Lots of drug abuse makes him look that rough
This is the best video of a cast from the 70's I've ever seen! I mean you named each and everyone that appeared on the show which has never been done.

You left out Oscar DeGruy who played Mad Dog and Douglas Grant who played both Sweet Pea and Eddie

Good time is a sitcom series from the 1970s. It starred Esther Rolle. This series that left unforgettable good memories, inviting viewers to laugh out loud. Perhaps that made the famous actors win the affection, love and appreciation of the audience. The characters will always be remembered for their comedic performances. Thank you for giving information about the life of the actors of this wonderful comedy series. Blessings.
It was supposed to Esther Rolles show, but Jimmie Walker took the spotlight from her. Jimmie Walker was the star.
@@josephclegg3562 Which caused the show to take a more comedic direction than had originally been planned. That's why John Amos left the show...he wanted the show to take on serious topics and social problems.
I have no idea what your talking about this show was the most depressing show ever, nothing good ever happened to the Evans family! Don’t get me wrong it was funny in its own way, but was the exact opposite of Happy Days.
@@hueyfreeman9297 That was what the shows whole focal point. Norman Lear was trying to show us the show could revolve around a black family being poor and living in the ghetto, and still be funny. It wasn't until the end of the series that something good finally happen to the Evans. They finally got out of the ghetto. I wished James had lived to see his family make it out of the ghetto after all those years.
This was a very depressing show.
Great trip back in time. However the photo you're showing of Ben Powers as an older gentleman is that of the late Julian Bond.
THAT'S who it is..I was over here trying to figure out who that was if given only a few more minutes!!
Extensive casts members I always wondered what happened to them! You really went all out on this one! Thanks!
This is better than most. I like how the side by side is shown, the then and now with age of death and reason of death. This could be a little better but so far from what I’ve seen you have the best format for showing the then and now.💕
@Ruben Daniel All is well … thank you 😊.

I grew up on this show. One of the best series yet!!!
*Come through Judy Pace! 👌 Wow, she looks absolutely gorgeous to be 80. They ALL look beautiful! I miss this show.* 😢
I do too but you can always find it on RUclips
What was so cool about shows of the 70s; they all had creative theme songs 🎵 the song at the end of the show was different then the song in the intro 🤗
What a lovely walk down memory lane. Also an opportunity those who are dearly departed🙏🏿♥️🌹
Thank you for a walk down memory lane. Thelma still looks good.
Hello Wanda how are you doing hope you’re doing great with your family?
The older gentleman displayed in the photograph as Ben Powers; is NOT Ben Powers! The older man in the photo was "JULIAN BOND;" not Ben Powers. Sister Hasiah Drorah BahtYah
Thelma was my all time favorite. She was so pretty. I love the way she looked.
They got Ben Powers confused with Julian Bond a civil right leader.
lol so hard I farted 😂😂ester rolard
There were definitely a few errors in this video. And a some non of the character descriptions were off probably due to the 70’s dialect. There’s were a few characters that had more active parts that weee left out but the stroll down memory lane that I experienced was worth the watch.
I forgot about some of these cast members!! Thanks for the reminders.🥰
IKR ... I was shocked.
Good Times episodes are still on from 1970 it's definitely on every day I have Watch it every day 🧕

I don't why but even though I've never watched this show, it's like I'm seeing glimpses of my parents' childhood and youthful days. Those must have BEEN good times
Good video. I don’t think I saw the character Alderman Davis nor Penny’s mother, Mrs. Gordon.
Used to watch this show as a little kid in the late 80s and early 90s.My dad was sure crazy about the Good times tv show and JJ was his favourite character
Why did the narrator refer to Florida as James' sweetheart? She was his legal wife and the mother of his children.
Exactly!!
He don't know any better. He probably just pick out public general information without really watching or being a real fan of the show the show. Otherwise he would have referred to her as his wife. He did say James is her husband and father of her children. He also called Florida's 2nd husband her lover (technically he was).
I still love this show, and all the actors.
When are the people that make these videos gonna figure out that Ben Powers and Julian Bond are not the same person?
Calm down , every body makes mistakes
I used to watch the show. I didn't understand what the show was saying to America until I was an adult. This show was arguably one of the best on TV.
The actress who was Kim is the same actress who was Tootie on the Facts of Life
Kim Fields later also starred as Regine in "Living Single."
Cheryl Keil, and Kim Fields' mom in real life, Chip Fields, was Penny's abusive mom on the show. Penny was Janet Jackson's character. Those were the good ole days, for sure. I still love me some "Good Times!"
The comedy series of my life! “I’m just looking out of the window!” Looking for good times! ❤

As a member of the city that hosts the national black theater Festival, I have had the opportunity to meet all of the cast. Thelma, Bernadette is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Michael, Ralph is amazing. He really knows how to make people feel good. And OMG Papa James is the best! If any of you are lucky enough to interact with them I'm quite sure you will agree.

The festival is always so fun.

The Evans family did not live in an "Estate". An " Estate" in our country implies some amount of wealth or that you own a mansion on a sprawling property acreage.
