Nice and straightforward, cheers. All my movie files contain Dolby Master or True, so they are 10GB and up. This makes it a pain as 4GB movies with compressed video AND compressed audio ruins the theatre experience 😢. I’m thinking that being a media player, such as Nvidia is the only way here?
I would like to play my saved movies through the fire stick using the Plex App. The external drive would be attached to the Fire Stick. Is that something you have any experience doing? I'm a novice when it comes to the Fire Stick and what I can and can't do with it. Thanks

How can we play files larger than 4Gb? I assume that is the maximum file size allowed in FAT32.
You will need to re-encode them to smaller than 4gb, the 4gb limit is a hard limit with fat32.

No you shouldn't do, but I am not sure if this will work on a fire TV!
When I plug in my USB stick on the OTG cable nothing happens. Never prompts me to format and it doesn't come up in storage either 😢
It could be either the power adapter is not giving enough power to power your firestick and usb stick at the same time, or your usb stick maybe not formatted to fat32 or your usb is faulty or your OTG Cable is faulty.
how to copy more 4 gb file to fat 32 pendrive and play it on vlc?
Its not possible with FAT32 due to the limitations of the filesystem!

@@kravivirgo Your maybe better off trying to compress the files to something like HEVC to see if you can reduce them to less than 4gb.

I inserted the USB with fat32 and it says incompatible. So the firestick has to format it and then be on the same Fat32, but this time it adds files

VLC Player no longer works on Apple Fire TV. I'm looking for a replacement.

Only Fat32 I'm afraid, unless you have the 3rd Gen Cube!
Rather misleading... very misleading... fat 32 file limit is 4 gb.... not 2 terabyte...
You can format to up to 2TB, but you cannot have individual files of more that 4gb on Fat32 that is a limitation of the file system that cannot be overcome.
He was obviously talking about the external HD not a single movie; who has a 2TB movie file?
