When using a digital repeater in my area to connect to wires x, if i connect to a node. Am I tying up the repeater with my rx/tx traffic like an analog repeater would be? Will other locals be able to use the same repeater to listen to other nodes, the same time as me?
When you change rooms on the repeater, you are changing what everyone else hears as well. Proper way to change rooms on a repeater is to listen to see if repeater is in use, say your call and say you are going to change rooms. Then put the repeater back on its normal room when you are finished.
Lot of talk but very little information. Gets to the part where a video is going to start to explain HOW to use Wires X and it cuts off. Would love to have at least a link to the video.
Portable HRI Mode does NOT require a second radio - just run it in DIRECT mode. Additionally, in portable HRI mode (either DIRECT or Access Point), you CAN connect to "mixed" rooms without the extra analog cable set (SCU-39 or SCU-40); it is just that you cannot hear an analog station (although sometimes they'll come thru your PC speakers) and they cannot hear you. Too bad for them.
Thank you! Oh, that's a bummer your licensed expired. How long has it been? I believe if its 2 years or less, you just have to fill out the form online and send in $15. Was your call N6TUX? If it was you still have till this December. 73
Can I use my Yaesu FT 2980 R/E with WIRE-X connected, because as I read manual book it can be,, How about that my friend, I looking forward to hearing from u my friend, regards QRU 73 YD5AXV 🙏
Soooo, it is useless buying just a wire-x hand held, you will also need a hotspot??? a transceiver and HRI and computer, to talk? way too expensive way to communicate.
A Yaesu FT-70 or FT-3DR will work fine if there is a C4FM Fusion repeater in the area. Wires-X is just another fun way to communicate. Some also say HF is way to expensive too.
@@HamRadioTV what a coincidence :-) just received my FT-70DR and a diamond antenna. Also by accident I found a fusion repeater (is it same as C4FM) not far from me. I am only listening at the moment and assessing what I need to move forward. Studying for a licence, At the moment no budget for a home base or a mobile transceiver. Still have a lot to learn, reading Yaesu manuals. Subbed.
Thank you for your input. Brian is leading the charge in getting our club into the Fusion/Wires-X world. I'm also new to this new mode and thought it was an informative presentation as I stood behind the camera. Could you share a link to a video on this topic you like?

Good question. I've forwarded this to Brian the presenter of this video.
I guess a good way to test would be if you have two radios or you have a buddy listen in on that repeater while you connect to a node and talk on it.
What was the answer to your question?

Good feedback. I will let Brian know.

👍
This is not HAM connection if you use an internet!!! If in case of emergency, an internet disappears wires-x will not work!!!
it is the way Ham to get to know each other through internet.
Thank you
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
This video seems to be oriented towards people who know about wires x. Not much of an introduction.
Thanks for the input! How about instead of "Intro" I'll call it "More Info"
@@HamRadioTV That would be a better title. An even better idea would be a video introducing wires-x.

Why would any red blooded American move to a commie ass country like Laos that doesn't allow hams?

The presenter's explanation is not very clear. I will continue to search RUclips...
Sorry to hear that. This was a presentation at local club meeting.
@@HamRadioTV No Problem. 73.
This is very misleading. Whoever this guy is he does not know anything about digital radio. Don't waste your time like i did watching this video.
