Violinist of Hamelin! Great find! If I was there, I would've picked it up probably. Every BOOK OFF I go to has so many Donkey Kong Country 2 & 3s. And thats a good thing. Quality titles worth picking up for those that dont have them yet.
15:41 Funny seeing all those boxed copies of Puyo Puyo Tsuu, and one is the Remix version. I have it boxed, and apparently I bought it sunfaded (sunlight never reaches my room as I keep it dark all year round) as the yellow and blue are darker on the copy there compared to mine, of course my boxed MD copy of Puyo Puyo Tsuu also has sunfade as the blue is lighter than copies I have seen on your videos in the past (the box should be a darker blue). Of course my SFC boxed copy of Magical Drop 1 also suffers from sunfade that happened before I bought the thing.
I missed this, Jim. Great video and nice to see that wide retro variety at a bookoff. Shame about those console prices. Sometimes I have the feeling that the book off's and hard off's are all over the place with their pricing and you just have to be lucky. Nonetheless, great pickups!
@@MadPanicGaming I like the way you sped up the parts with the loose carts, but still showed the good stuff. It kept the video shorter but not too short.
There are so many amazing Super Famicom games that never made it outside of Japan. I love collecting for the Super Famicom due to the many underrated games. Cool video. ^_^
Jim, did you see the ex-Konami folks at Good Feel have a Ganbare Goemon spiritual successor coming to the Switch? I'm interested but I wish I pronounce it. Mameda Bakeru is the only thing I could make out in the title.
@@MadPanicGaming Awesome! Yeah, if you get a chance I'm sure you'll be impressed. The platforming and level design put off some serious Mario Odyssey vibes.
Awesome video as always and amazing finds. And random question (two actually), do you need to ask permission to the store before filming? Asking because I will be going in February and wanna film some of these stores but don't wanna get in trouble. And second, any places you recommend for a decent price PC-Engine games? (mainly Falcom stuff)
I typically don't ask for permission unless it's a more intimate setting. No one seems to care, just be discreet. I use a gopro when filming these. As for PC Engine games, Surugaya usually has a decent selection.
@@carlosaugustodinizgarcia3526 ugh that would be a dream! With the Shinobi X game built in. The emulation for Saturn would be very expensive to make. That’s the word on the street right now.
a lotta nintendo love this round, I can't be mad about that! definitely some bonafide classics in that haul. I played mad city originally via emulator indeed it's much more balanced, I guess without the rental market potentially killing sales they could get away with not being as difficult. chip and dale I actually didn't beat until this year and that was on the XBOX version of The Disney Afternoon Collection (not to be missed! goes on sale all the time so if you haven't picked it up yet there will be plenty of chances to get it for $5)
Oh yeah, I forgot there was a Disney Afternoon Collection. I'll probably pick it up at some point, I love those games, just need a little time to play through them again.
@@MadPanicGaming I'm not sure what they're going for in Japan but it's definitely the best way to have C&D 2 and Ducktales 2 without paying crazy prices for them!
Been to a few book offs around my hotel in Tokiwadai and North Japan. Haven't seen any gamecubes with gba players gonna be here for another 10 days any idea which book offs and or any of the offs where they have a gamecube with a gamecube player ? Srry

Violinist is great, but I have a pretty tight budget for each hunt.
Absolutely amazing as always. Definitely some really good finds
The exchange rate right now is exceptional, so even the more expensive games I picked up are very tolerable.
Another sweet, sweet video. Perfect for pre-bed chilling to fill one’s dreams with lucid fantasies of retro game goodness in Japan.
Lol thanks, I do what I can.
Wow, time to visit Japan again and pick up that Macross for the Super Famicom 😁😁😁
I've heard worse reasons to visit Japan.

Yes, it's a real crapshoot lol, but usually at least worth the train fare.
The 50% off loose cart section looked great.
I did avail myself of several titles. I mean, who can say no to 50% off when the game was already only $2 to begin with?
I’m happy to see a new game hunting video! Looks like you got some good stuff! I went here once but it’s been awhile.
Thanks bud. I've been shifting focus to other types of videos recently, but these game hunt still fit like a glove.

Awesome hunt, Jim. It's really incredible so old games with perfect boxes like those.
Yeah, I'm always impressed by the good condition of some of the stuff I find.
I'm learning Katakana. I'll be ready when I go back when reading spines! 😎

True, the SuFami library is loaded with awesome Japan exclusives.

Resident Evil 2 on Dreamcast was fantastic. I hope Sega makes a Dreamcast mini.
After the Saturn mini.

I'd happily purchase a DC mini. It must have Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi though.
I wish I could watch some PS2 game hunting by you, I have already seen a few of those videos in your channel in the past 😢
Noted.
Awesome 😎 video. I want to visit Tokyo and buy everything Street Fighter 😊😊
You'll have some stiff competition lol
Speaking of the game cube, have you seen a copy of Doshin the Giant on N64 or Gamecube?
Not recently.

No time like the present.
I would probably go Super Famicom crazy if I get a trip over there again :) Plus of course MSX titles, always MSX titles.
You'll have to pay us a visit sometime soon. First round is on me.
@@MadPanicGaming I probably need a Japanese version of my new book :)
The yen is now 150 to the USD! Crazy times.
The time to buy is NOW!
I actually love F1 Race on the Famicom. Wish my copy was complete, buy I only paid like $5 for the cart, so can't complain.
Yep, it's one of the most affordable games on the Famicom. Can still find it for a couple of bucks.
Out of curiosity, what was the card shop?
It's called Pao.

@@MadPanicGaming lol I was asking about all the places you've visited so I can go there sorry
I remember getting tricked by that PAO store too.
The pics on Google maps showed a retro game section, so I'm guessing they either had one before or those pics are from a different location.
