You have so many more options in Photoshop, so I would use that program instead. You could also image trace the PNG for more options in Illustrator: ruclips.net/video/gyLSZIbXI0g/видео.html
Don't know if you will see this but when I follow your steps the background of the logo changes, but not the font, I have black seal png that I want to make white
@@GDHTi have adobe illustrator if that is the same thing; if you have a business email I can show you the images; I am self teaching for my business; I know that time and subject matter expertise is not free; I am trying to make color variants and I would patronize your services
Photoshop is a different program, but it's much easier to make the changes you're wanting there. If you want to send the images to me, my email is howtographicdesigner@gmail.com. :) I'll try to see what the issue is.
hi this is just what i needed thank you, I'm looking to sell the same image (landscape photography) to a potential customer. just wanted to ask you, am I best saving the images to PNG or JPG for the customer? for digital downloads
You can only use Recolor Artwork with vectors, so you'll need to make your PNG file a vector first (see video below). A better option is to use Photoshop, honestly. ruclips.net/video/gyLSZIbXI0g/видео.html

It's hard to know what's going on without seeing the image. Do you have Photoshop?

hi this is just what i needed thank you, I'm looking to sell the same image (landscape photography) to a potential customer. just wanted to ask you, am I best saving the images to PNG or JPG for the customer? for digital downloads
I would keep them in the same format they already are in, so most likely JPG.
why is recolor artwork agreyed out and not an option to click? I need to use that feature and dont know how to get it to give me the option
You can only use Recolor Artwork with vectors, so you'll need to make your PNG file a vector first (see video below). A better option is to use Photoshop, honestly. ruclips.net/video/gyLSZIbXI0g/видео.html
Yeah, but when you do it,it keeps adding a white background, how do I make it transparent again please??
It sounds like you need to select the transparency option in the PNG save dialog box. :)
Ok this is awesome but I guess I want to know why it works.
I think people just wanted to be able to quickly change colors in Illustrator, so they added the feature. It's just added raster functionality.
When I trace my white image it will turn into a white box . How can I fix that thank you
Use this method (video) but use the grayscale version. You can make the white black that way.
@@GDHT thank you I will try that
You're welcome!
it doessnt work with me, i have the preview checked, nothing happened:(
I just tested it, and it's working for me. What version of Illustrator are you using?
It’s not working for me. Color swatch shows black but color is still white
Do you have Preview checked?
How do I change multiple colors in one image?
In that case, I would use image trace with a color setting to turn it into a vector...or just use Photoshop to change colors.
@@GDHT thank you!
