- In todays Illustrator clipping mask tutorial, I have 3 Illustrator clipping mask uses that you need to know. The clipping mask is not only limited to Photoshop, and in fact there are many ways to use it in Illustrator, here are 3 of the most interesting and useful in todays Illustrator clipping mask tutorial.
Today 3 uses of the clipping mask in illustrator, all of which are super useful and handy. The first use in todays tutorial involves typography, the second can be used t spruce up a brochure, magazine or maybe a flyer design, and the 3rd tip is a practical and useful way to use the clipping mask to tidy and neaten your designs. The clipping mask is fairly easy to use in Adobe Illustrator, and I am going to show you different ways in which you can apply it to your very own graphic designs.
The cool things about the clipping mask in Illustrator, is that of course the design will end up being a vector, whereas in Photoshop the clipping mask will be a raster image. There is a lot you can do with the Illustrator clipping mask, and you will find out in todays tutorial.
If you found this graphic design upload on how to use the clipping mask in Illustrator enjoyable or useful, let me know in the comments section and drop a like on your way out. Subscribe to stay updated to all of my uploads and until next time, design your future today, peace

Thank you, very helpful.
The third suggestion I do it all the time, but I usually «speed it up» even more by copying the bottom square/rectangle/shape and then placing it with Shift+Ctrl (or Command)+V, to place it in the same place where the original is, and then, simply selecting everything and clipping the design...
Thank you for the tips, though! Cheers to UK back from Portugal!

That is awesome to hear, the clipping mask is a very important and useful tool indeed. You have a great day also Sir
Thank you so much! I recently switched from a commerce background to designing (UX design), and I'm unaware of the tools and tricks. This really helped me in understanding the concept of masking, and how can I use it. Looking forward for such more useful videos. Already subscribed! :-D
I'm really good at using Clipping mask on Photoshop, but have no idea how to use it in Illustrator. A struggle of a graphic illustrator who moves to graphic design (for work). This saves me. Thanks.
Thank you!!!! I think this will really help me, b/c a lot of my graphics are blurry when I design in Photoshop & it was driving me up a wall.
Thank you for the effort in putting this tutorial together, it was very helpful and clear. I really appreciate your the time you spent making it.

4:42 for those wondering how to make it perfect select the rectangle tool and click once and type in the project dimensions then go to windows and open the align panel to align vertically and horizontally, then go to layers and click the space next to the eye to lock it
Instablaster.
Thank you for sharing your awesome tips, I definitely am going to use these. Thank you so much!!!!!
Inspirational, Thanks for the tips.
Awesome tips for using clipping masks!! Thanks Tom .
lol thanks tomato soup, enjoy your day and all the best
The first mask really is very useful to me. I used to create a copy of the original text to retain editablity and then outline the text to mask it where it was then not showing any text editing feature. But this way is way better
Yeeeyyyy! Found it! Thank you!
Awesome! This is awesome. Thanks for sharing...
Thanks, Bro, keep going on. you are helping me and everyone who wants to learn. Thanks once again..

great tips. Loved the hexagon mask!
Thanks for your feedback Mark, yeah that mask can be useful on designs for sure.
Masks are the bane of my existence, and more so in Photoshop. I'm likely still going to struggle with how they work despite having watched this tutorial, but this really blew my mind. It's like my brain is in a million tiny pieces! :o.
lol rebuild it one by one :P
Masks don't need to be that trick, and of course practice makes perfect. I am still stumped by some mask functions in PS though
I really adore your work
So helpful...thank you!
Wow! This tutorial is so good and so helpful. You make it seem so easy and one thing I have to say is that your explanations are short and so very easy to understand, rather than other ones I've seen, the tutorial is so long, to the point that at the end you don't even fully understand anything. Thanks so much for your efforts and your time.
thanks for the feedback man. This video is really old btw lol
The Compound Path tip helped me a lot, thanks!

amazing love this video thanks for sharing
It´s working great. Thank you so much for sharing the information
The last clipping mask trick i think you can only used that for final rendering of your work because when you activated the clipping mask with both object you selected it will only combine the two and you cannot move every object you want to. Btw this tutorial is very helpful for beginners like me and i will apply it in every work im doing.
You are the men...Thanks for this tutorial.
