I was born in Edinburgh but live in Glasgow. Both cities are fantastic. Edinburgh for the history and architecture, Glasgow for the big city buzz, people, shopping and nightlife.

I totally agree. Both cities are amazing and beautiful cities and at the same time so different. Whatever it is you are looking for, you will definitely find it in one of these cities 😍

Can you guide me, which town midway between Glasgow/Edinburgh is good for family of 4s, Like Falkirk? I guess ....I am from Dubai want to start business+ freelancing!

    • @threesixnine369six

@@zainulabdin1720Falkirk sounds like a good idea as it gives you access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, there are A380s flying between Dubai and Glasgow so plenty of seats, both GLA and EDI are well connected, flights and trains to London and the rest of England are plenty, there’s also the motorway system, and Falkirk is also on the way further north to places like Dundee and Aberdeen. So overall being in between Glasgow and Edinburgh is good for businesses in Scotland, but depending on the nature of your business, you could even live in smaller places like Shotts or Caldercruix and commute only when necessary. There’s a business park just outside of greater Glasgow on the M8 on your way to Edinburgh, it’s called Eurocentral or Maxim park, could be a good option as well. Hope you find a suitable place for your business 😊

@@threesixnine369six thanks for valuable information ℹ️💟, I really appreciate U dear, may God bless you amen!
I really consider Shotts as option along with Falkirk both stations are quite midway between Glasgow/Edinburgh ( Scott rail).other sources of transport. I need to visit first to findout suitable place for business setup like food point cafeteria, indeed I love Scotland 💟 Glasgow is my favourite than Edinburgh.

Worked in Glasgow area for 6 months as an American. Lived in Central Glasgow. Visited Edinburgh numerous times. Edinburgh hauntingly beautiful. However, Glasgow seemed more a true Scottish experience being immersed with Glaswegians.

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  5 месяцев назад

That was my impression as well even though I only spend a short time in both cities. I think the more touristic a city gets, the less original it is, meaning the true Scottish feeling will get lost. But as you said: Edinburgh is so beautiful and I totally understand that so many tourists visit it 😍

Well, if you should visit, I think Edinburgh for all its historical and artistic wealth, monuments. If it is to live, the balance leans towards Glasgow because it is a larger city with better offers in general, free museums and good architecture (they already buy me with this haha) and despite being a large and new city I feel that it maintains a balance between old and modern, and finally it is the home city of Glasgow Celtic Park Stadium hahaha

And yes, I completely agree with you! Glasgow seems perfect if you are looking for a place to settle down. It has a lot to offer and is a beautiful city! And I really enjoyed the River Side Museum! But if you are in Scotland only for touristic reasons I think Edinburgh is the better option only because in my opinion it has a lot of touristic places and interesting sights.
Anyway, both cities are close to each other and easily reachable by train. So if there is sufficient time, why not visit them both? 🤩

I would like to visit the Glasgow Cathedral and the ship. The good thing is that Glasgow and Edimburgh are relatively close (70km). So I guess Glasgow is totally worth the visit. 👍

You are absolutely correct! Both cities really aren’t far away from each other and easily reachable by train. I took the train from Edinburgh to Glasgow. It took an hour and it has cost me 12 pounds. So why not see both cities if you have the time? They are definitely both worth a visit 🤩

You're summary is very accurate, I would always recommend visitors to Scotland to go to Edinburgh as it has a more tourist friendly feel, but if they stay for a little bit it's definitely worth visiting Glasgow as well as it is so convenient and quick to travel between cities
On top of what you said Glasgow also tends to have more large and modern venues for gigs and shows, those buildings were shown in some of your aerial clips of the river
Edinburgh is very beautiful but sometimes cramped and often overcrowded, whereas Glasgow feels more spacious but is dirtier than Edinburgh with lots of litter problems. It also tends to have slightly worse weather than Edinburgh

Thanks a lot for your comments, I really appreciate your feedback!
I can imagine Glasgow to be more fun if we are talking about a place to live in because as you said Edinburgh can get overcrowded with all the tourists and I think in Glasgow there’s more things for locals.
But anyway, both cities are really beautiful and worth a visit and for sure both have their advantages and disadvantages as everything ☺️

Well done, i remember my Edinbrugh family would say " oh thats a good address" , so snobby. Also they would say ascthey opend the doar " youl have had your tea" yep we knew a Chinese we would eat in the car becaus we knew we would not get fed.
In Glasgow wee say "Come in youl have some tea" and get fed, trauma as a kid going to Edinburgh family.@@aventuralina

There's really no Glasgow or Edinburgh, I live in Edinburgh, but I've lived in Glasgow and my Daughter still does. With a 45 minute train journey between the two I can go to gigs in Glasgow. I was there last month in the Barrowland seing the Pretenders. There are too few venues like that anymore. You really can get the best of both 🙂

Born in Glasgow, but live in Edinburgh. In my opinion Edinburgh is significantly better in almost every way, e.g. history, world-renowned events, beauty, and safety.
Glasgow does have good points, e.g. the museums can be great, but it has a lot of deprivation, and that means the city can become quite unsafe, particularly at night. I feel much safer walking around Edinburgh.
