When Rodericka talked about people being grafted to the spider I always understood she was referring to the grafted Scion we meet in Stormveil, since it looks more like a spider and the chrysalid's memento is close to where you fight it
We considered this as well, but the grafted scion doesn't graft itself, so the one ripping off limbs would be godric, hence he's most likely the spider

It's the difference between saying "grafted by the spider" and "grafted to the spider." As far as we know the grafted scions cannot graft themselves and knowing godrick as a character it seems highly unlikely he'd share the secrets of grafting with anyone.

out of all the characters in the game Rodericka is one of the few people our tarnished makes a personal connection with that doesn't end in tragedy, I love characters like her and hewg that add much needed light and inspiration in an otherwise dark world
when she introduced herself as a certified spirit tuner, im so proud of her. she moved on, do what she can and be the best of it. best girl indeed. wish we could see more of her in future titles
Roderika is thee MVP Maiden. We picked her up off her knees. And she's always had our backs. She's been there for us, a true A1 day1 supporter. She deserves to be "Queen Consort"💯🙏🏽
Honestly roderika is just a poor soul that was unfortunately made into a tarnished and was likely forced to come to these lands due to her nobility requiring her to do so and was unfortunately intercepted by one of godrick’s forces and her man distracted them as best they could so she could escape the horrifying fate of those that are captured by godrick.🐱
I have a new idea you can discuss after this video if you want . Can you make a video about the various lands known outside the lands between ; the ones where various tarnished originate from and possibly helps us in imagining how each environment shaped each tarnished who came from it .
Roderika gives us a golden seed. I think this is the golden seed that is missing at the very first erd tree sapling. She must've been there while exploring and that's how she knows about white mask varre. Or she washed up in the same place as our tarnished
This may be a far fetched theory, but, here goes! Maybe the reason why Roderika never seen the guidance of Grace, is when Queen Marika sensed Roderika when she came to the Lands Between, is maybe Marika was AFRAID of Roderika, of the things she can see, thanks to the extreme connection she has to Spirits! Marika hid many things, and perhaps Roderika was never able to see Grace, is Marika's fear of her seeing things that she shouldn't!
The story of Rodericka and Hewg is beautiful and tragic. Loved the father and daughter relationship. Loved Rodericka's growth. The way it all ends is bittersweet. And Patches is still besto gurl.
If she wasn't Tarnished, then I don't know how she made it to the Roundtable Hold. I think the bit about never seeing the guidance of grace was just an extra admonishing point to really drive home how undesirable she was. Well done, as usual. This might be an odd request for a video, but could you theoretically manage to come up with some lore theories as to why some enemies drop such oddly specific crafting materials? Why do the wooly trolls in the mountains drop Arteria Leaf? I still don't know why.

I wonder, how did she get to the Roundtable Hold? She doesn't see Grace, and probably doesn't have a Maiden, especially if as you assume she isn't Tarnished at all (I'm not sure about that one. That would fit, but inhabitants of Lands Between seem to identify Tarnished pretty easily and she probably would've known if she wasn't one). It seems pretty established that you can't access Roundtable without a Maiden.
Or you can discuss the event known as the long march of the tarnished and the various people crucified on the poles found on the lands between and I think it’s possible that they’re tarnished who were captured before escaping because it says that Godfrey and the tarnished were hounded from the lands between , like they didn’t let them leave peacefully. Can you discuss the incident and how this event may have happened and why there are boats on the sea near castle Morne and is it possible that they left the lands between from this place . Thank you
I kinda doubt the people on the poles have been there for centuries since godfrey left originally. Especially with many of them still being alive, making noise etc.

Love watching these at work guys. Makes me want to play the game more than the 100 hours I have. Just a suggestion for future videos, maybe start doing the various locations or landmarks across the Lands Between. Like the Dragon Communion Altars.
Never liked diallos he always comes off as someone who was raised far too sheltered and could not understand even basics of living in the lands between. First time I played I was looking forward after he swore vengeance on his house's name to teaming up with him to wipeout volcano manor but he instead is a coward that gives up and forgets all about vengeance. Then when he becomes the protector of jarburgh he doesnt even prevent any jars being murdered he doesnt save a single one (Alexander's nephew survives if hes there or not so he didnt save him) all around just found him to be a lackluster noc and even liked his unspeaking brother because in the 20 seconds you meet and fight him he shows more class and personality than diallos. Heck even if they made it possible to show him the murder contract out on his brother to change that storyline as an alternative outcome would give 1000000% more personality to diallos but nope he let's his friend be murdered and does nothing to save his brother then fails and dies at jarburg

Out of all the NPCs in Elden Ring you have dialogue with… he’s the only person that you can not directly help. He honestly, forged his path with his own strength. I find it beautiful that his story is the most relatable to every NPC. Because I find a lot of us that sit at home and asks ourselves what would we do if we were in a world like Elden Ring… then Diallos would that projection. He talks a big game and wants to revenge Layna, ends up joining Volcano manor and then leaves when he knows this place isn’t for him, and finds a place in Jarburg. He failed to protect the village but died protecting one character, Jar-bairn and again he did it without our help. Nephili Loux is my 4th favorite character. But even someone destined for greatness at their lowest point requires our help. Diallos with his complete lack of strength and conviction still managed to be the most inspiring NPC in the entirety of Elden Ring.

He even takes his flesh & blood within him citing, The Tale of House Hoslow is told in blood, and that’s the type of warrior I want to be. So Alexander’s Nephew does look up to Diallos. And this is… pretty much the only reason that his story becomes inspiring… so if you didn’t remember that… he’s sacrifice might come off a stupid and pointless… therefore making Diallo’s story fall flat.
Roderika is my #1 favorite character in the game she feels as if there’s nothing else left in her life other than death and that she should join all the others that have died, but later she realizes that she has a gift for spirit tuning and that there’s more to life than death, I relate to her a lot because there was a time in my life that I thought I had no meaning and I should just be like everyone else until I realized that I’m different and can be a better person

I took this to mean that Roderika later went to Stormveil not before but after you give her the memento. Could she have died there? Or just left the hood behind. It’s interesting to consider the chain of events in the context of the Roundtable Hold existing outside of the normal timeline a little bit.

The way I see it Roderika is Tarnished, and that was just all the more reason for her family to send her away. From her demeanor, I assume her family considered her a failure and was looking for any reason to get rid of her. As far as her never seeing grace, it’s already known that Tarnished can lose sight of grace, like Rogier, so I don’t think it’s unbelievable for a Tarnished to never regain the sight of grace.

Roderika, in my opinion, never gained her sight. Godfrey, as you said, regained his sight before we fight him. These are just my theories on how the grace works.
Loved Roderika, favorite npc for me. It was always nice coming back to base and talking to her, she's so sweet it's like a balsam in that cruel and hostile world. I only wish she had more dialogues. When I finished the game, I just sat there next to her and Hewg. I defeated Radagon and the Elden Beast using Hewg's hammer in his honor, and that was the only fight I used it in.

It's absolutely possible she is tarnished. It's a completely reasonable assumption. We believe the cloak's admission of her never seeing Grace at all opens up the possibility that she was only told she was tarnished. While it's true none of the tarnish we meet see grace, it is implied that they did at some point and no longer do.

I'm very confused about her discussing the curse of Queen Marika Nothing proves that Marika cursed anybody, she simply laid out a task so unfathomably monstrous in its difficulty that it seems that way. But if you consider Gideons pre fight dialogue and Melina stating that restoring Death goes against Marikas desires, it almost lends credit to that claim this is all a cursed task.

Tarnished seemingly has a combination of meanings in elden ring. We know all tarnished are descended from Godfrey, we also know all tarnished typically hail from other areas than the lands between. Lastly tarnished has a pseudo meaning of commoner. Referencing both Kenneth haight and Marais (? Sorry if I spelled wrong) as they both notably referenced as nobles and Kenneth upon meeting him has a near aversion for wanting to get the help of a tarnished but basically has no other choice
I dont think its that there’s more than one meaning to being Tarnished. They were once noble warriors serving their lord Godfrey on the side of the Golden Order. That is until they were divested of grace by Queen Marika and therefore rejected by the Erdtree So the reason Tarnished are now thought of as beneath nobles is probably because just like the albanaurics, the misbegotten, the Demi humans, the merchants, etc, the tarnished are no longer blessed by the Erdtree (which is apparently evident by our eyes, even when the player can see grace) So if anything, it takes on a new meaning in the Land’s Between. The tarnished are no longer a race that’s to be respected
I’m happy she got a good ending I usually just roll my eyes because not everyone needs to die or meet a horrible fate but Miyazaki has to be edgy and be like no one can be happy but me*counts our money*

Tarnished seemingly has a combination of meanings in elden ring. We know all tarnished are descended from Godfrey, we also know all tarnished typically hail from other areas than the lands between. Lastly tarnished has a pseudo meaning of commoner. Referencing both Kenneth haight and Marais (? Sorry if I spelled wrong) as they both notably referenced as nobles and Kenneth upon meeting him has a near aversion for wanting to get the help of a tarnished but basically has no other choice
I dont think its that there’s more than one meaning to being Tarnished. They were once noble warriors serving their lord Godfrey on the side of the Golden Order. That is until they were divested of grace by Queen Marika and therefore rejected by the Erdtree
So the reason Tarnished are now thought of as beneath nobles is probably because just like the albanaurics, the misbegotten, the Demi humans, the merchants, etc, the tarnished are no longer blessed by the Erdtree (which is apparently evident by our eyes, even when the player can see grace)
So if anything, it takes on a new meaning in the Land’s Between. The tarnished are no longer a race that’s to be respected
