Make sure you check the steering fluid cooler for pieces of that. It will collect in there or get stuck in the thermostat.

that pump was well past due, was it started without water at all? or just out of maintenance?
It was 15 years old and we decided to send it (watching the temp gauges very closely). My fault but partially wanted to see how far it would run. We were shocked

@@BoatRestorationbyBen I seen a 28ft Bertram to give away because the engine locked up a few weeks back. Would have been 20-30k as a fixer over here
