The Barn in Berlin (and now also in 2 other countries), it's interesting to hear a similar story from Ralf. Opened around the same time with Five Elephant.
The story of Neues Schwarz (Dortmund, Germany) and Machhörndl (Nürnberg, Germany) would be interesting to highlight in a video. They are connected in a way.

What a craftsmanship! I heard about the cafe a long time ago and could make my first visit this year in Kreuzberg. Need to check out the other locations! ❤️
I've visited this shop in Kreuzberg and was thrilled with the coffee (batch filter) and they gave me a complimentary cup to go as it was late in the shop! Highly recommend
Thanks for sharing your journey. A point of reference is a very good approach to knowing how to set our parameters of aroma taste & aftertaste. Best of luck
Good job, I enjoyed watching this. It is difficult to keep QC consistently high... I see why Cropster Cafe does indeed bring an advantage when a roaster has more than one retail location. Cool
@@EuropeanCoffeeTrip Hey Ales and Radek, we've been through a few grinders ourselves but now... surprisingly busy.. team good and with green bean pricing being where it is..... JAVA goes higher into the niche.
I went to the Mitte branch last July 2019 and I was a bit disappointed. I'm probably asking for too much coming from Melbourne. I will give it a second chance though.
Great job with the video! Unfortunately with all that QC I've still not had a great bag of coffee from them. I try their stuff off and on looking to give a second chance even tried different water recipes but.... Great branding at least. I've also lived in Australia and close to Portland Oregon so I would say there standards are on another level.
Great video about a great Roaster. First checked them out in 2013 with The Barn, after first contact with Specialty Coffee at Bonanza Coffee (Heroes) in 2010. I also bought a load of ACME cups with them, first try to import them via Air Craft. 😬
This was really interesting and only enhances my growing obsession with speciality coffee. Need to revisit Berlin asap. Oh and shout out to the cheesecake, I see you :-)
Very inspirational as Im just starting roasting coffee, can you share your experience during the pandemic? How did you cope? Here in UK many cafes struggled and still are
It's hard for me to run a coffee business in a low GDP area, it makes my progress very slow, but personally i love it just because i see even it slow but it still growing and not survive
why does almost EVERYONE in this video have a really horrible bad haircut and sloppy clothes, unshaved, old shorts on? Seriously, is the really really bad 'botched haircut' some kind of hipster cool 'ironic' fashion thing or what's that about?
Hahaha they're hipster ex-patriots was my thought. Seriously though, this dude is doing the science so we don't have to. And their coffee is fucking beyond awesome.
@@MyHammer111 I suppose they don't need to make any money so that helps. btw, yes i just found more hip young people with the deliberate 'worst bad haircut' look thats going around. it turns out it takes a good hour at the barber to make it look that way and so it will grow out looking worse each day. Kids says it not that expensive though. cost him $80 for that 'mock the poors' look.
Well I don’t spend money on my hair. My wife/partner cuts it. I can’t speak for the others in the video. We don’t have a policy about haircuts except that if it’s long, it should be tied back. I’m more than 20 years older than most of our staff in the video, so also can’t really speak on what’s in trend or not hair style wise. 🤷🏻♂️
