European Coffee Trip. Thanks for introducing this place. I will definitely make a visit this year. It’s now on my google map. Are there any other coffee places to visit in Amsterdam??
@@ChicagoTurtle1 thank you! Yeah, showing people where to drink speciality coffee is our main "job" - check our website: europeancoffeetrip.com/amsterdam. Enjoy the trip!
By far the best coffee place in Amsterdam and in the Netherlands. The coffee they roast is really amazing and the place is so unique because it really feel like a neighbourhood spot.
Friedhats Brazil are the best beans. Every time we go to Amsterdam we make sure to get a few bottles before leaving. The drive from Belgium is worth it!!
Because we only have one eg-1 and as we’re already using it for espresso, the ek43 gets to deal with the manual brews. It’s fully aligned by Titus though.
I’m curious about the freezing the beans part of his café. So the how to store video you guys did a bit ago, the girl that was talking had said specifically not to freeze or chill the beans because of the moisture when the beans come up to room temp. So I’m curious as to why it works for this café to do it? My best guess is it comes down to more personal preference perhaps, or just how they handle the frozen beans as they get them ready to brew
In order to avoid condensation, you have to vacuum seal them before freezing them. When you take them out, you can use them just like you would fresh beans.
Jaka Šter would there be a need to get the beans to room temperature before brewing? I’m thinking from a thermal management view, the cold beans would immediately get your brew water much colder than the ideal 200° or 95°
I'm curious too. I just freezed (finaly) few packs of coffee, few days ago. In a few weeks I'll get them out and try them. Hope it will be ok. I didn't vacuum them even I wanted to... I can update you eith the results :D
@@CreamyDrummer probably by dialing in, then writting down the setting and grinder used on top of the coffee bag not sure if that is how THEY do it but it seems like a reasonable approach, you could laso have it on your phone/tablet or whatever i went to a small coffee shop recently and the guy pulled a shot of a specific coffee I asked for and he had to pull a second one, which was good but he said it could be better and he gave the shot to me for free (cause i bought some bags), so I guess it's not easy to be super consistent when you have many coffees ideally 1 coffee per grinder for speed and consistency but with time and effort you can have many
can't speak for them, but the same type of coffee (not the same batch) roasted by them is dialed in more or less always the same way. So it's about remembering the grinder setting for each type. Probably something they know by heart by now (or they can write down somewhere).
It was comment only about this particular lot. Lex has a chance to roast very special expensive coffee for other people, usually, he can keep a small volume to use at the roastery and cafe. That's why it is priced very conveniently for customers because they don't need to cover the cost or aim for profit. They want to offer customer good experience.
Hello sir do u need a dish washer or cleaner in your coffee shop, please lam ready to join, lam a Ugandan, and l really love working, so any available position u have in your cafe, please lam ready to start,
Hi sir I love to work with fuku speciality coffee shop am a coffee barista with four years experience in Dubai as a specialty coffee Barista in Slash speciality coffee shop in Dubai
European Coffee Trip I only got into coffee the past couple of months, it started off at Costa, then the machine I just bought, so I’m just experimenting. But I really want to visit a coffee shop with this type of vibe
We did a video about the Roastery last year. There were also scenes from then cafe but the topic was different. Perhaps that is the reason the video looks familiar.

The people at Fuku/Friedhats are genuinely some of the friendliest coffee people there are. Lovely video.

Can u please help me get me any work there , me l Don't discriminate jobs, help me please, lam ready to relocate, thanks, God bless
I’m sold out at 1:01 LOL I think the atmosphere there, at the coffee shop is even better and funnier.
Thank you for this nice video visit to FUKU. I appreciate you taking the time to show me what the place is like! Coffee is so wonderful!
I love this! Thanks for sharing.
On my latest trip to Amsterdam I finally got to visit FUKU and was not disappointed!
Just ordered Friedhats' natural Ethiopia and natural El Salvador. They're my favourite roaster here by far.
Makes me proud to be an Amsterdammer, although I don't live there anymore. FUKU!
Really like these longer videos
Cheers!
This is amazing!
Watching this adds more to my planning for starting a pet dream of mine-starting a coffee cafe later on ...Thanks for the info.
I'm in love with Natural Ethiopia kochere from friedhats 💟

Haha, nice!
Met him at SIC at Belo Horizonte last year, great guy and makes a hell of a coffee 👌
Visited for the first time yesterday, it was amazing!!
Very nice, thanks!
I can't believe I still haven't visited this place, such good coffee beans! And I have a soft spot for their branding.
Kafe na Pisku in Brno uses Friedhats too! I loved it so much there :)
The coffee shop so beatiful, i like it
Incredible place!
I need visit this place!
Impressive passion!
great place, nice people
I like that he has a sense of humor about the name.
What grinder are they using for the espresso milk combination?
Hope i can work with this type of coffee shop some day..
When he say lowtech & old school. Hmmmm
Great 🤍
Considering the machines he uses the prices for coffee are ridiculously good
I really wanna know the reason why he uses the EK43 instead of the EG-1 for manual brew 🤔
I suppose that EG-1 worked better for espresso brewing and he didn’t want to mix two brewing & grinding styles in one grinder.
Because we only have one eg-1 and as we’re already using it for espresso, the ek43 gets to deal with the manual brews. It’s fully aligned by Titus though.
Lex Wenneker do you think EG-1 is better than well-aligned EK43 for manual brew? Is it installed with CORE burrs or ULTRA burrs by SSP tho?
@@LexDelft and how's the Anfim holding up? Is that an SP 2?
Looks a great coffee shop! What's the name of the 'low tech' grinder to the right of the EG-1?
Did you try Indonesian coffee like
Gayo,Ijen, preanger, papua , Mandailing and many others. 😁
Not yet but we’re getting some Indonesian coffee very soon!

@@ryanzspauldingYou don't have to wait. By the time they are ground, they will get a lot warmer.

Wonder if Coffee is bigger in the Netherlands? I know in general coffee isn’t that big in Europe especially when compared to tea.
6:31 is that Ricky Gervais? If not, looks like his doppelganger, even the smile is super similar.
Definitely isn't. Though he does look a little like him.
Decent cauliflower ears 💪
i like this lex guy
Hell yess.. I see very expensive coffee tools in FUKU coffee shop lol
Why is the food not covered and so close to people standing at the counter?
Can anyone explain to me how they keep track of the different grindsizes per beans?
Because every coffee on the menu need to be ground slightly differently for a perfect extraction (=the best possible taste).
@@EuropeanCoffeeTrip yes exactly! How do they keep track of the different settings? :)

is that an anfim sp2? If he's using it, it must be a very good grinder.
I hope, I can going to there!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand your comment about the pricing of the specialty coffee, are they selling it at a loss?
They're not making a profit from sales, it's just to showcase the coffee.

Nice
Is it only me who feels when the cameraman is switched?
And I think I’m posh, with my Tassimo vivy 2 with Columbian coffee pods😂

1:16 Ricky Gervais
Well in Zürich we pay EUR 5.5 for a shitty one, why not 10 for an excellent one....
counting the "kind of's"
A "real" coffee shop in Amsterdam. Unbelievable!
"What's Inside Specialty Coffee Shop?" idk... coffee? 🤔
Fuku lol
i love arabica gayo honey
Damn the shop’s called fuku? Harsh.. lol
he does realize that Fuku in japan means clothes, not good fortune lol

@@EuropeanCoffeeTrip that was it!! thanks for replying
Europe has nothing to do with coffee any more, its all about the UK, Australia etc these says
Their coffee may be great, but their design is hideous.
