    Possibly the most underrated tip in this video is to start out your cut by not starving yourself. Will went from 4000 to 2500 causing drastic weight loss at first. Better to start out eating more like 3000 cals or kore then only cut cals further if needed.

    I like Will but objectively I am saying this is one of the BEST videos ive watched for both nutrition and working out for cutting. He explained calorie measuring, eating habits, grocery haul, AND recipes. For working out he explained his split, how many reps he does and why, and how many sets he does and when based off how he is feeling. He explained his thought process and emotions he felt for everything which i rarely see and i think those are huge factors to a cut.

    Hey Will, Good video thanks for that one needed that today. I'm an middle aged man on what feels like the longest cut in history with a goal of loosing 175lbs. Managed to lose 140lbs over 2 years while adding some strength and muscle mass but lost momentum and gained 20lbs back over the last 6 months. Recently relaunched cut 2.0 trying to get that last 55lbs off.
    I feel like crap at the gym at least 75% of the time, low energy, and hard on myself for not achieving what I think I should be able to. Seeing a guy who is in a whole lot better shape than me acknowledging how much harder his workout can be in a deficit makes me realize I'm not doing that bad.
    Love your content and thanks for keeping me educated and motivated.

    Today I finally hit my goal of losing 20lbs🥳 It was a very slow and steady process… I didn’t do any severe restrictions, just slowly cut my calorie intake every 2 weeks until i hit the deficit i needed and stayed there for 12 weeks (lost the last stubborn 6lbs). Now i want to slowly integrate more calories until i hit maintenance! The diet assistant from Nextlevel diet helps me a lot in the process.

I've been unhappy with how I look most of the way (and in my defence I gained 30kg) but finally got to a point I'm somewhat content, really in love with the muscular development and ready to cut, but this time (hopefully) not take it too far. Timing has been excellent and tips are great as always.

    Advice for women: don't weigh yourself or start a cut during Week 4 of your cycle. In Week 4 you're retaining the most water, have the worst cravings, and are more prone to injury as a result of poor coordination. Rather measure yourself during Week 1 to Week 3 of your cycle, and then compare your Week 1 and corresponding month's Week 1, Week 2 etc. I highly recommend Lyle Mcdonald's talks about Female fat loss, he has done fantastic research about how the menstrual cycle and birth control can affect a woman's fat-loss journey.

    Hey Will, just wanted to really quickly thank you! Not sure if you'll see this but. I really think it was your channel that helped me contextualize the fact that I had an eating disorder that I was hiding from. When I was in HS I was anorexic, and while it's been many years since then I realized from watching your videos that I never really let those tendencies leave. When I began weight training I kept telling myself I was eating plenty of food for waht I needed, and plus I had an obsession with being lean. Been weight training seriously for almost 5 years now and realized that I've really really been undereating. The obsession with being lean took more of a toll on my body than I realized. I'm currently [very slowly] bumping my calories up. I know that this type of journey I'm on is the exact opposite of what you're talking about in this video, but I still wanted to say something all the same. I really think it was binging your content over the past month or two that helped me commit to this new journey of mine!

    When I first started lifting many years ago, I did a dirty bulk and gained so much excess weight that I kept on for years. Watching your videos was a huge motivation to finally do a much needed cut. Went from 200lbs to 185lbs in 3 months. Kept most of my strength during and am really happy with the results. Thanks for the good info Will!!

Btw, half natty lights of peace in the gym, back looking insane 🦍🔥

      @@bunnell6335 Hey, thanks! I was 280 lbs around March 2020. As covid hit and we went into lockdown, I stopped eating fast food and started cooking meals at home. As spring rolled around, I started going out for daily walks. By June I quit drinking alcohol, and focused on eating sensible meal portions. By January 2021, I was 240 lbs. I continued doing the things I mentioned above, however I hit a plateau at 230 lbs. I then purchased a food scale and came to the realization that I was underestimating my calories by a significant margin, so I adjusted my diet accordingly. I also joined a gym in October and started lifting 3 times a week until I hit my peak weight of 212 in November. I am currently visiting my parents so my diet has been out of whack, but I'll be hopping back on the wagon as soon as I get back home

I have now lowered to 1800 cal for two weeks and still no change. I have keep up the same weights and cardio routines. What am I doing wrong?

      Just a random guys observation: Reducing your calories could of caused your NEAT calories to also decrease, potentially more than the amount you were maintaining on causing you to gain weight. The further reduction in calories then may of made up for the reduction of NEAT calories being burnt off. Potentially try increasing your calories back to what they were and instead increase your weekly cardio👍

    • @qwertyguy098
      @qwertyguy098 2 года назад +1

      gradually ramp calories back up to your previous maintenance (no more than like +200 cals/day per week), you'll feel yourself able to push harder and harder in the gym as the calories climb back up, it's much wiser than just jumping back up to previous maintenance/slight surplus because inevitably when you all of a sudden add so much after being in a deficit for a prolonged amount of time, your body will want to hold onto some of that addition (because your metabolism has likely decreased a small amount due to lost body mass during the cut). Keep in mind that your body is still capable of putting on muscle/strength to an extent in a calorie deficit, so if you are worried about wasting time in the gym while gradually ramping your calories back up, keep pushing as much as you can in the gym and the stimulus combined with the adding cals will still allow for low to moderate gains while building the metabolism back up without storing a lot as fat. Then once you're back to your maintenance, it's really up to you if you want to maingain or build up to a 300-500 cal surplus to lean bulk/add strength. I wish you good luck friend.
