Also important you don’t sleep later on the weekend as this throws off your circadian rhythm (internal clock). Finally, make sure you are actually going to bed early enough to wake up earlier.

It's funny, so many people are complaining about stress and this and that and hating your job. This is a video making the most of what you are doing in life. If you guys wanna get bent out of shape saying woe is me, change your attitude or change your job or both. Leave the negativity for someone else.
You forgot the biggest thing that comes with a 9-5 desk job. Stress. Most of them hate their job. It’s different then sitting for 8 hours in your house editing your RUclips videos.
The important thing, I've found, is the same as exercise. Just focus on the next rep, the next step, the next paper, the next deadline, etc. "One game at a time" is not just for sports.
Comments like this with a whiny victim mentality are trash. In the end, everyone has choice over how they live their life. If someone hates their job, they should quit and find one they actually enjoy. But people are scared to take action. Also video editing is actually more of a grind than people think.

I am an attorney and I use the walk and talk when talking on the phone. I get 8k steps a day at work. It is possible. I also walk to printer every time I print something so client letters and docs don’t get mixed up and that adds to my step count. So does walking to my lunch destination. My diet isn’t great so this is the only way I stay lean.
Actually, it takes less than 30 seconds to a minute to get a drink from the kitchen. Plus, work shouldnt be determined by how long you sit at your desk but how much work you get done while you're actually there :)
@@malcolmalden true but of course every little helps. You have to change your mindset from well it’s not possible to what is possible. My boss: "You need to stop getting up all the time to fill your water and use the restroom. We need you to be more productive." Me: "I am being more productive, I'm losing weight."
The trick is to combine your bio break with getting more water. I usually would sneak in a lap around the floor as well (hallways set up a lot like a track). About 250 steps total each trip, 5 or 6 times a day. REALLY miss going into the office.

Alright. I wasn't going to comment... But... Great tips. I must say the level of trying to find solutions is on point. Though there are a few things missing. Unlike half of the comments here, I love my job. What I don't like is the traffic driving to and from work. (That eats a lot of time.) Meeting are done in front of a computer. (I would prefer to walk around, but the meetings consist of reference material.) After the drive to and from work, there is the drive to the gym. (Not all of us have a gym at home.) And I still take a high stim at 7pm.
Thanks again for your straight-forward approach to health and fitness. Keeping it simple has been the only thing that has allowed me to stay on track with my goals. Also, I think everyone needs to make a shoutout to the anabolic popcorn and Coach Greg in general. Changed my life.
What a great video and how amazingly Will understood every problem of a 9 to 5 fella in finding the time for a workout, especially waiting for the equipment in the gym if you go after 5PM. Thank you for the inspiration 👍👍
I love that you didn’t start the day with waking up at 4:30 am to get the workout in, much more realistic for the majority of 9-5ers IMO. Not all of us are morning people! 😅
Will, I'm a 5 am to 2 PMer myself. What I do is only black coffee until 8:30. Eat something protein rich on my 15 min break at 8:30. Then I go for a 1.5 mile walk on my 30 min lunch. Then eat something protein rich on my last 15 min break at 1:15. Makes it really easy! On top of standing all day and walking around at work. I use to sit for 12 hours sometimes. Nowadays I've lost 75 lbs down to 185 from 260. Reversed diabetes.
I was looking for someone to say that lmao like really you’re not going to be left alone all day. Plus you the commute is way longer than 26 minutes. I believe people working a 9-5 realistically work 9-9! More like them figuring out how to stop working a 9-9 to get to 9-5
Exactly. I'm nice and motivated for a few months working out every day after work but then it just gets sooooooo tedious. Also, I work 8-5 with a 40min commute lol
From a man who works at chipotle it's the easiest place to grab enough protein aswell! Even with a single scoop steak bowl, if you include the 4oz of beans we give, you should estimate well over 30g of protein. Plus the hot sauce is so good!
It’s odd how everywhere in the world loathes office jobs, but you get one in australia and it’s basically set up for life, also when I get up I brush my teeth and somehow an entire year passes then I tie my shoes and I’m almost ready to lay down in the casket. Time flies when you’re getting ready

Now do it 5 times a week for the next 40 years and try to wake up not wanting to end it all 😂
😂😂😂
Consistency is the hard part.
YOU CHOSE YO BE A WAGE SLAVE
This is definitely the weak point of the video. I feel like very few could sustain this caliber of meal prep and the obsession with steps. Really it's very simple: scale down the calories to compensate for the lack of activity and get a workout in before/after work
@@M3diaConsumer I'm currently trying to fit in 10k steps everyday around work simply because I'm 160 cm and my maintenance would mean eating only 1500 calories (or 1200 calories if i want to lose weight) which i refuse. It takes me a lot of willpower to eat only 1600 while trying to lose weight so i can't imagine cutting my activity
Been working my way through the last four months of your vids - (I see a cooking TV channel in your future) The mixture of humour (Brit spelling) and simple healthy recipes combined with the excellent camera and editing work along with your confident no-BS style on camera make for the most entertaining fitness/food channel on RUclips I've seen in many years. - I can't imagine just how hard it must be to come up with great new content each week! - keep having fun with it, sir, and I for one will keep watching!
It's funny, so many people are complaining about stress and this and that and hating your job. This is a video making the most of what you are doing in life. If you guys wanna get bent out of shape saying woe is me, change your attitude or change your job or both. Leave the negativity for someone else.
What surprises me about Will is his ability to cook. He’s really good...and has a great sense of humor.
The cashew milk in Will's shower is such a cursed scene😂
I just want to know what the heck that blue thing was in his bed
@@ELIT3Terminator lol to me it looked like a piñata stick with a blindfold lmao
Not the only type of nut milk in there
What is it there for though... does anyone know
The maple syrup and lotion on his bed though
You forgot the biggest thing that comes with a 9-5 desk job. Stress. Most of them hate their job. It’s different then sitting for 8 hours in your house editing your RUclips videos.
Just take the tips and go
can confirm, it sucks
I like mine a lot :)
If you are really passionate about fitness and health, you will find a way to make it work!
can't agree more! personally i lost 22 kilos in the past year while working a 9 to 5, going to the gym in the evening and prepping my meals the night before :)
Depression has entered the chat
I work 6 to 14 and I wake up at 4am to get my workout in.

Sadly most desk jobs have productivity times so you don't have option to constantly get up and walk around like he recommends.
You are not just entertaining us but teaching us a lot. We all appreciate your efforts and a sincere Thank You from my end for making my life fun and healthier.
Lots of love from India.

He also said he wasn't a stranger to having sticky hands
He lost me at skipping rope before even drinking a cup of coffee.
If I tried doing high-intensity skipping before I get my morning stimulant on, I'd break an ankle.
ideally you should wait around 90minutes after waking up for your first coffee if you want to avoid a caffeine crash
Conspiracy: the month revenue in the intro is actually his subscriber count!
I was about to write that. I think the same!
came down to comment that! Great minds :)
I mean 726k subs would seem pretty accurate to me.
This was my thought too....especially following the More Plates More Dates speculation video
He’s done this before, it is his count lol
Will's neighbours when he's skipping:
"Dafack he doing over there"
Awesome video as always!

I appreciate this video so much! I have a desk job and weight train and try to eat fairly healthy but have it somewhat of a struggle finding time to get my body moving during my shift and don’t typically fit in much cardio either but I’m working on it and definitely am going to make an effort to stand up and walk around during my shift more. :)
I usually work 10 hours a day. After years of not working out I finally rejoined the gym by my house. So when I leave work I go straight to the gym, work out; then head home after the gym. I wont go home first because then I don't want to go once I am at my house.
Love the food recipes, Love the channel. you're videos are helping me to stay inspired. It good to be back at the gym and have sore muscles. 5 years is too many gone.
I’m just staring my journey to a healthier lifestyle. My ultimate goal is to loose 70 pounds. I’m currently 5’11 and weigh 265 pounds at about 36% body fat. I found your channel and subscribed 2 days ago. Love the content, especially the recipes. Thank for the motivation to better myself.
How is it going? Update?
University started back up for me on Tuesday so this video came out at the perfect time. 10,000 steps is a huge goal of mine, along with training for running and strength, but it can be hard when it is winter and I have zoom classes all day but we are going to make it happen!
When you realise that Jan revenue is Will’s total subscriber count 😮 close to 1 million now, well done
good observation!
I was thinking the same thing!
As someone who is currently documenting their weight loss journey & just got a call back about an interview to target, this video helped a LOT. Thank you bro!
That chicken cabbage stir fry is what made the video worth rewatching over and over again.
Will: "If you have a meeting.. dont just sit; walk and talk!"

“Get to know your meat before you put it in your mouth.” - Will Tennyson-
am I the only one that mutters "goddamn it, will" whenever i watch the intro? 😂
"How to stay in shape by spending half of your work day walking around instead of being at your desk actually doing work."
Most underrated comment…
I actually take 30 trips to the bathroom with all the water I drink lol. So its possible
Now that might not be 8k a day or whatever but it will be more then not trying. And it all adds up. I used to be obese in my 20s. No one can tell that I haven’t always been slim. I’m slim because it all adds up. The extra step. Taking the stairs to work. Eating healthier at lunch (not healthy but just healthier - my diet isn’t great). And you’ll see the results.
Thank you for doing this! Amazing inspiration for us 9 to 5 people.
0:01 just a book mark for where I left off, I will be back to finish after my 9-5.

Surprised he doesn't have a sweater/hoodie/tshirt that says, "Where there's a WILL, there's a way!"
Thank God a video most of us average people can relate to.
he as 470.000 subs. i saw a picture of it. i think he removed sub count after a few seconds
im on my third week of a 8-5 salaried job after working bars for 5 years, needed the money and consistent working hours. obviously its a huge change so im trying to get used to it, one thing that im struggling with is feeling absolutely shattered after 5/half 5 when i finish work, wanting to work but literally not having the strength or energy in me to have a decent workout. tried it a few times and i just burn out after a couple sets. either way i shall continue watching as your videos always motivate me to keep it going. dont want to give up on my training as ive been so consistent with it for well over a year now.
Awesome breakdown of your day man! I like how you try to get the most movement possible. Great video

What about the almond milk that's always in his shower? Lol
@@williamgeluz-bustos2950 there’s a roll of TP as well. Haha

My boss: "You need to stop getting up all the time to fill your water and use the restroom. We need you to be more productive."
Me: "I am being more productive, I'm losing weight."
The trick is to combine your bio break with getting more water. I usually would sneak in a lap around the floor as well (hallways set up a lot like a track). About 250 steps total each trip, 5 or 6 times a day. REALLY miss going into the office.
@@hhilliii ability to cook healthy meals during my work day, eat at anytime, workout anytime(home gym required), go for a walk and best of all, no commute certainly trumps going into the office. Did I miss anything?
@@Shadezman76 personally I prefer going to the office. Others do not. I find I am more productive there than at home. I was able to do all those things while working at the office, admittedly more meal prep than daily cooking. I find it easier to blow off the home workout than stopping in the gym on the way home.
That's me though.
@@hhilliii Nah, I could see that, especially from the more productive standpoint. I definitely have too many distractions calling my name at home but I built a home gym in 2018 and I'm usually drained after the work day and lose motivation. But yeah I get it, to each their own

i am blessed to have a full time job but omg 9-5 is such a nightmare. I pray one day I find something I enjoy doing that pays well cuz sitting down all day makes me more exhausted
This video really helped me. I've being working from home for over a year. Thank you
I'm sure my downstairs neighbour will be thrilled about me doing skips at 4 in the morning
I love that you didn’t start the day with waking up at 4:30 am to get the workout in, much more realistic for the majority of 9-5ers IMO. Not all of us are morning people! 😅
will skips indoors in the morning

Don’t forget about the things in front of you and behind you
Will, I'm a 5 am to 2 PMer myself.
Good video. I work a 10hr day office job. Go to the gym before work and go on walks on some of my lunches. It’s hard but possible. I enjoy it.
I needed this! Thank you 😀☀️
I promise I can't eat while watching Tennyson. I almost choked from laughing.
I love it when youtuber pretends to live normal life, while having 9 to 5 for a day. Very relatable.
Right, I love his video's but this one.. Can't relate. Anyone can do that for a day.. Do it for 20+ years daily.
Also, I work 8-5 with a 40min commute lol
the flexible schedule is so useful for the busy hours in the gym

From a man who works at chipotle it's the easiest place to grab enough protein aswell! Even with a single scoop steak bowl, if you include the 4oz of beans we give, you should estimate well over 30g of protein. Plus the hot sauce is so good!
