Story time: I was born with a congenital heart defect that I knew would require an aortic valve replacement at some point in my life. My cardiologist told me in May of 2021 that I was extremely close to needing a replacement valve, most likely in 2022. Knowing this was the case, I committed myself to getting into the best shape possible before my open heart surgery. On January 1st, 2022, I weighted 239.4 lbs as a 5’8” 31 year old man. When I checked into the hospital for my surgery on August 29th, 2022, I weighed 151 lbs and was in the best shape of my life. Nearly two months and a successful Ross Procedure later, I’m almost 100% off restrictions and am looking forward to progressing from weight loss focused exercise to muscle building as soon as I’m medically cleared. Will, thank you for all of your entertaining, hilarious, and extremely helpful videos. They’ve been critically important for me throughout this most transformative year.

You say if you ever died again like this you would want to do intermittent fasting but trust me it’s far from ideal and if you’re doing a Bodybuilding Competition Next year and you do for example a 16 hour fast every day you’re without question gonna show up with less muscle then if you eat 4-5 meals a day And spread your meals out.
Great message at the end. Be sure to watch the entire video.

I always wonder how these guys have so much time in the day to devote to 2 workouts, making these meals, plus work. With a family, working 40 hours, then helping the kids out, I'm lucky if I get 4-5 workout sessions in a week at the gym. The results are much slower, but in the past 2 years, I'm much closer to my goals.

I work full time, with a family, and my wife works mornings a few days of the week. I wake up at 6 am to go to the gym for an hour before returning home to feed my son, that's the only time I can consistently go. I could wake up later when she's off but I feel like that wouldn't work well going back and forth like that. I'm proud of myself considering 8 months ago I was a pothead and was high and did nothing all day and now I'm completely substance free minus caffeine. Idk the point of this but it takes a lot of commitment and discipline to stay in the gym in our situations, so be proud of yourself.

When you love something like these guys (and i) do, youll find the time. I was going to school full time and getting two workouts in because i LOVE it. I live for exercise...My english teacher also did as she had 180 students in highschool and yet, she'd still make time for her 6 mile runs 4am morning. Why? Because she loves it. I never took that path as the fitness instructor that I always wanted to be. Been digging my way out of my negative addictions with positive addictions aka working out. This is the one I very much needed to hear.. thanks garage workout man…
I’m not in the 40’s yet so I need to start now. Like you said Im just tired of being sick and tired the energy I had isn’t gone it’s just in bust now and recovery time for anything takes major amounts of rest.
It’s about 60 pounds I need to get rid of. But I’m not committed to my cave man workouts because I can’t see the goal there’s no girl I’m chasin. Lol. I’ve slowly but surely started grabbing stuff around the house and lifting it. I gotta do more of that. I’ve got some empty bleach bottles pretty big I filled with water other than that it’s a few push ups and sit ups..
Thanks again bro because I was startin to feel like it was to late for me.

If you can't get in some gym time, just find a way to walk anywhere you can throughout the day, and eat a sensible diet. It all adds up and you'll see visible results after just a month!

Great video Will, honest information and a wealth of slapstick one liners! 😀 That bit at the end was a great message. A lot of folks into fitness are constantly bombarded with the mentality of getting 'ripped' and "shredded" (both sound rather painful) but they don't realize that is primarily a state gotten into for a special purpose, such as a bodybuilding competition or a movie role. I would imagine trying to live in that zone 24/7 could potentially be quite unpleasant.

It sounds like you have to put in so much work to look good, while I can barely encourage myself to work out once a week. I don't have the energy and drive to it, even though I know that I need to lose weight. That lack of drive is my biggest obstacle and I don't know how to get over it. IF for 12-16 hours a day, i worked out while fasting and had a physically active job. I managed to maintain that lifestyle for a year and my body got very lean, but as time went on, my body needed more fuel and i started feeling sluggish most of the time. It taught me that being lean, will not always feel great from the inside. I eat normally throughout the day now and i feel so much better. It came with some weight gain ofcourse, but what’s important is that you feel well and you’re healthy.

It may not be an eating disorder but it can be body dysmorphia, Tristyn lee shows immense signs of this, always staying dangerously lean all year around and this makes you feel tired and hungry all day, every day. Your hormones are depleted, you have less energy to do anything else because all you focus on is how your body looks. With everything in life comes balance, working out naturally stimulates balance in the body regardless of what you eat. As you become fitter, your will not feel like eating a lot of fatty or processed foods. This happens as long as you are committed to exercise, you can truly eat what you want.

Your presence in camera is so much more assured, and the content of your videos are now multi-faceted. It really shows that you're taking a creative/deeper interest in creating this unique content. Not every episode will be the same, but watching your growth on the channel, and as a creator are very noticeable. You are now a top tier youtuber due to your talent alone. You should be very proud.

Pushing your calorie low will work. But your losing way too much muscle given your size and your cutting calorie. Metabolic damage is temporary but it does happen. @@braydenpage5964 dude, you have the commitment to make diet work. I really recommend you slow down your weight loss and start focusing on exercise. It’s will be slower, but you won’t feel as much like death on a daily basis, and as you start exercising you will lose muscle mass per cut. Here’s the breakdown, when gaining weight, when working out properly on a mild calorie surplus, you gain weight and muscle. When you lose weight, you lose fat AND MUSCLE but how much muscle you lose depends on how fast you are losing weight and if you are working out as you lose weight. Every weight gaining and loss cycle should end up with you having more muscle than the prior. What you are doing is probably just destroying any muscle you gained as you went up in weight because the rate you are losing weight is just too fast. The typical recommended maximum weight loss rate is 1% per week. For you that is a max loss of 2 pounds per week. That’s a 1000 calorie deficit per day. No matter how you work the number you are considerably under that at 1200 calories at 6’2”

Story time: I am 13 (turning 14) and I have been doing the One Punch Man training everyday since October 11th 2022 and do Martial Arts on top of that to burn extra calories. I actually managed to gain a full step of abs, thick thighs, and vainy arms. My mindset was that I must keep doing it no matter how hard it gets and do it like my life depends on it. Getting stronger is the top priority for me and I am willing to be late for school if I didn’t complete the workout until my bus arrived. However, I do find it hard to get a healthy diet as I am only 13 and don’t know how to cook, the only restaurants where I live is McDonald’s and Burger King. Literally the only thing I eat is Beef Jerky and whatever fruits and vegetables I can find. For all those people out there finding it hard to become healthy, ripped, etc, remember this. You have to stick to it no matter what and you don’t get it easily.
